I have had better subs elsewhere. The bread is good however they are very cheap on the meat. Cant make a good sub when you want to cheap out on the meat and making more bread then anything.

I’m not really sure what the draw is here. While the subs are OK, there really isn’t anything that makes me want to come back repeatedly. My wife also got sick after eating one of their subs not that long ago. We only ate there a few times, but we have not been back since she was sick. I don’t think we will be either. We go to the Wawa down the road if we need a sub fix.

They use the cheapest meat, that they turn the label side down so people don’t know. Joe’s Deli(1 block away) is much better! Awful customer service too.

Cheapest, lowest quality cold cuts are what they use. The ham looks like rubber. Turkey has flaky texture from pressed/formed meat parts. The tuna is loaded with pulverized bread. I know the product they use and its around 90cents lb for the ham. They are using a ¼ lb of meat per half sub. Real food costs money. This is no bargain, its dog food in disguise.

The counter person(only 1 since it was a quiet moment) was very friendly. The tuna was delicious. This is kind of an abbreviated review since all I had was tuna(no sandwich). Plenty of parking and a much easier in and out than the one in Edison.

The subs used to be good and something you go out of the way for. Now, they slice you some good old Jersey attitude. The people behind the counter think you’re doing them a favor by coming in and spending your hard earned money. We get it, you’re an hourly worker slinging roast beef. It’s not the most glamours job, but when you’re opening talking trash about customers and not giving a damn really turns someone off from showing up. No one appreciates the attitude and snide remarks you give other customers. Food: No matter how many times you speak up about the toppings they seem to screw it up. It’s amazing considering they’re two feet in front, yet still can’t manage to get mayo on the sub. There’s a Tastee near Rider Univ. which is much better and friendlier. If you down there try them, but forget Rt 27. for sure.

This place used to be good. But they now got real cheap with the meat. Might as well go to subway if you’re gonna get a full price sub with a microscopic amount of meat! Maybe they have new ownership or something but I’m never going back!

Fast service, cheap price, delicious subs, what more could you ask for? I always order half #1 no onion. To me, that’s the perfect bite. I’ll always come here after school or after work for a quick bite.

I have been here many times before. The staff was friendly and the sandwich was made quickly. This time around I went with the #3 which consisted of proccuttini, cappacola, and American cheese(around $ 8 for a whole). With this I had lettuce, tomato, onions, hot peppers, oil and vinegar. It was a little underwhelming, but still very good. I thought the cappacola was a little blah, but it was solid regardless. I also tried a ham, salami, and cheese sandwich. It contained lettuce, tomatoes, onions, hot peppers, oil and vinegar too. This was better than my sandwich I thought. Will I go back? Yes.

Good subs, but the line is usually long. The subs are cheap. Half subs cost six something. Their turkey and roast beef are great. The roast beef is rare. There isn’t a lot of parking in the front. I usually park in back of the building.

I alway go with the intentions of trying a different sub… but I always find myself ordering the tuna. I’ve been going here for over 15 years and there’s nothing more satisfying than a tastee sub.

Not see why this place doesn’t have 5stars! Love this place and have been a loyal customer 25+ years. I don’t enjoy all the extra toppings and stick to the basics– if that’s you, check this place out!

The sandwiches are consistently good. They have a soft bread that they load with your choice of meat and vegetables. The ingredients are always fresh and full of flavor; service is quick and easy.

As much as I like subs, I can’t figure out why they drag your bread down the counter the whole freaking way. They slap your bread down on the questionably clean counter, then they drag your bread through the salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, tomatoes, lettuce, peppers, mayo and onions of the previously prepared subs. After they do what they do at the next station, they then drag your sandwich, thereby cleaning the counter the rest of the way, and THEN they place it on the wrapping paper. THIS is why I don’t go here anymore, is there anything wrong with placing the paper down on the counter first???

Damn good sub. Only in town for work, but if I’m back, this will be a required stop. I think everyone else agrees. Line out the door, but moves quickly.

I went there once and the onion in the tuna sub was so big that it ruined the whole sub. I thought maybe they were having an off day or short handed so someone cut the onions rather fast and big. But after my 2nd visit which came months later I realized that’s how they cut them. Sorry… I’ve been to countless delis and its very very hard to screw up a sub but it’s a norm at tasty subs that are not tasty at all.

This is the best submarine sandwich shop in NJ. Tastee sub sells a full or half sandwich on a fresh italian roll. Your only options are white bread or wheat. Order by number or name and you can make slight changes, but only to something that they already have. For example, my favorite is the #5 Super-Sub but I add in Pepperoni as well to make it the ultimate meat sandwich. When you stand on the line, you had better know your order already. There is no using your phone, or waiting to order while you talk to someone on the phone. They will kick you out and you will deserve all the dirty looks you get from people on the line. One you order your main sandwich you move over to the toppings and condiment area. Your choices are: Lettuce, Onion, Tomatos Salt, Pepper, Oregano Mayo, Spicy Mustard and Hot Pepper(not really hot) spread Oil and Vinegar You can add any combination that you want or ask for any of the toppings on the side instead. You can also save 5% if you pay via cash instead of card. Each sandwich is about $ 10.00 or less and their only vegetarian option is an all cheese one. There are no hot sandwiches only cold cut type. They do have macaroni and potato salad in the cooler with the sodas as well as potato chips behind the counter. But let’s be real, you came here for the submarine.

It’s Tastee! Checked out«Tastee II» to see if it’s as good as the original in Edison, and it passed with flying colors. This isn’t your generic chain sub shop. Offerings are fresh, choices fairly limited. The line isn’t as Epic as it usually is at the prime location, but it moves just as quickly. Make your choice, step forward, speak and move quickly to your right. Do NOT attempt to engage in small talk or ask questions! Pick your chips/dessert/drink, hand over the cash, and go enjoy your tasty sub!
