This is the best bagel store in the area, and one that very few people know about during the workday rush-hour. Shockingly, you can get in and out quickly with a fresh bagel sandwich, even ones with eggs and bacon etc. The lady who works weekdays is just about the best thing that happened to breakfast since sliced bacon. And, if they weren’t fast enough, you can also use Zingle, which allows you to text in your order in advance and it’s always ready when you get there. As for food quality, they are awesome. Fresh well baked bagels crispy on the outside warm and chewing on the inside, prices are very reasonable and they’ll make you lunch or breakfast sandwich anytime. Not a lot in the area of pastry, but who needs that anyway. This is a New York bagel store.

When comparing bagels in this town, I would give credit to this spot for the volume and lack of fillers in the dough. Buy a bagel from here and compare it to a bagel from A&S, you’ll see what I mean. I’m a fan of calling in orders so I don’t have to wait for the line which can hold you up. They even accept text message orders, I’ve never used it. I don’t really mess their with deli options but my turkey clubs are usually on point. My only minor complaint is the coffee. Get rid of hazelnut and invest in a better tasting alternative(Georgio’s Coffee Roasters in Farmingdale has Long Island’s best selection in my book)

I hate that I even have to give this place a star. I was here about a year ago. Ordered an egg sandwich got home and there was a bandaid in my sandwich. GROSS and how the hell did a bandaid get in my sandwich!!! After talking to my friend, she convinced me to try them again. I decided today to give this place another try. I ordered another egg sandwich. She starts my eggs on the griddle, turns to me and asks if I’d like anything else, rings me up, takes my money, gives me my change, turns around to the griddle and uses the SAMECONTAMINATEDGLOVETOTOUCHMYSANDWICHTHATSHEJUSTUSEDTOTAKEMYMONEY!!! I AMDONE! This place either needs to be shut down or re-educated on safety protocols for handling food.

I really never came here before and I only stopped in because we wanted to give it a try. I don’t think I’m ever coming back. The vibe was weird as soon as I stepped in. The woman behind the counter, not sure if she is the owner but she was yelling at everyone. Either they weren’t working fast enough or she was just grumpy either way you shouldn’t be yelling in front of customers… it really looked as if her coworkers were trying to move quickly. Now for the food. The bagel with egg and cheese that I ordered was good. Not fantastic but good. Now we ordered two iced teas and two bagels one with egg and cheese only and one with egg cheese and sausage… Total was about $ 13. So you figure 5 per bagel? Not even sure how much that really was. I have a different bagel spot and I go there for a reason… there’s enough room to sit but that’s because it was basically empty on the other side. They have benches and tables and then a massage section(massage chair) near a fish tank. This honestly was the weirdest set up I have seen in a bagel shop. Anyway bagels were okay. Just atmosphere was a bit unsettling.

Do Not Eat here! So sad, have enjoyed this bagel place for a couple of years. Totally spoiled today when a 2 inch roach crawled out of my bag of a dozen bagels today. NEVERAGAIN! Wish I could post negative star, but Unilocal forces you to pick one.

The décor is nice as it’s a pleasant enough place to sit down and eat. However, it’s WAY overpriced for what you get and they could never get even the most simple order right for their life! When comes time to pay, it goes so fast that you have no idea what the heck they’re ringing up and would never get a receipt to individually know what they’re charging you for everything. I’ve gone there one day and it was one total, then the next time a few days later for the same exact things and it was another total! No good. That was the last straw. I’m done with this place.

This place is horrible. They over charge way too much for low quality food. They try to rob you on everything. Even for a small cup of just ice they charged me $ 1!!! And the worst part is I work right next door to them they all know me I used to go in everyday when I work. Now I don’t go in because one of the employees was acting inappropriate towards me. The owner knows what happened too and did next to nothing about it. All in all I would not recommend this bagel store to anyone. You could find better food for a better price with better service elsewhere.

I love this place. Around here you can spit and land on a place with decent bagels so it’s hard to judge a spot based solely on that. What Bagels on the Square does have that almost all the others don’t is decent customer service. The people here are nice and actually care about doing their jobs. They don’t make you feel bad for taking longer than a second to order or like they are God’s gift to bagels like another high profile 24hr establishment I know. They have always gotten my order correct, the prices are affordable, and if you are in the mood for an actual smile served with your sausage, egg, and cheese on a whole what bagel then this is the place for you.

I’ve been to this place many times when it first opened up and after the switch to the new owners. The place is nice although I never actually sat down there to eat. I was always treated well by the staff. Although I usually go for the standard Bacon egg and cheese and a large coffee, I have never been disappointed. Some people don’t like change and won’t give the new owners a chance. Like any place with new people, sometimes you gotta give them a chance to get on their feet. I own a business myself and I know It’s not easy. But I’m happy coming here and will continue to go unless they give me a reason not to. So far they haven’t in any way.

This place used to be so good. Then the owners sold it, a little over a year ago. I have since found part of a fruit fly in my omelette and seen more than one roach scurry across the floor. Lol enuff said? Fresher ingredients and a cleaner environment would be a good start. And yes, I found it hard to communicate to a few of the employess there. Apparently no cheese means extra cheese.

My favorite bagel place in Nassau County, fresh, doughy, plump and a great selection of spreads, tunas and meats. Great atmosphere for sunday brunch with the Tv’s, wifi etc. Love coming here!

OK now I see what everybody else see’s, I stopped in yesterday morning for breakfast. Apparently pumpernickel rhymes with onion, salt and poppy because that’s what the guy behind the counter gave me. Four times I had to tell this guy, and another 2 times to get vegetable cream cheese. My order consisted of 1 pumpernickel w/vegetable cream cheese(a VERY small amount), 1 cinnamon raisin(plain), 2 self serve coffee’s(small and med.) My order came to $ 8. and change!!! Are you kidding me! I will only come here from now on to buy a dozen that’s it I cant afford to eat breakfast here nor do I have the time, that is unless of course the counter dude buys Rosetta Stone.

I hate to give it such a low rating, but the paninnis my husband and I got today were atrocious. Call me a snob, but I guess I’m so used to La Bottega where everything is top notch, so this was a huge disappointment. They use pita bread when instead, the bread should be thicker like foccacia or whatever Press 195 uses. It wasn’t heated up all the way, so it was still half cold — WAY too many onions and it was very sloppy — definitely do not attempt to eat this sandwich wearing a white shirt. The pickle it came with was actually just a really salty slice of cucumber. Yuck. I was hoping the food would be as good as the service because the workers were super friendly and provided excellent customer service… the inside atmosphere is nice and cozy. I am willing to give this place another shot because their breakfast items look pretty solid and I’m always on a quest for the perfect bagel. Expect an update shortly, but unfortunately the low rating still stands.
