Had a wonderful time there, but no more karaōke :(I heard they used to have it every week. Please bring karaōke back!

Very disappointing. Saturday night and the only 6 people dining, after the meal I now know why. Hair in my niece’s entrée, the kitchen claimed it was spinach, appetizer was sub par. I had the boneless pork cutlets, it was poorly prepared. The fresh mashed potatoes and vegetable medley were the highlights. Our waitress was good, pleasant and attentive. Nice atmosphere. I’m guessing we may have been there on an «off night».

I hadn’t eaten at Murph’s in close to two decades, but my husband and I decided to give it a try recently. The place is friendly, and I happen to enjoy the«mom ‘n pop» ambiance. It also has good prices and is good for families; plenty of kids were there. The food is fine. It wasn’t extraordinary, but it certainly wasn’t bad. I’d like to see more options on the menu, however. Also, diners in the modern era are often visual people. A drink menu is really a necessity. The bar area is underused as well. Fewer than five people were there on a Saturday night around nine; infusing some new cocktails could encourage guests to stay after they dine. If I saw an intriguing drink on the menu, I would have.

My family and I wanted to try Frankly Thai tonight, but since there was a long wait for a table, we meandered over to Murph’s. We were pleasantly surprised by the cozy dining room, friendly staff and attentive service. I had one of their specials which was a blackened cajun ribeye. It was soooo delicious and cooked perfectly. Probably one of the better steaks I’ve had in my steak-eating career. The portions are incredibly generous, too! I’m so glad we stumbled upon this place. I’ll definitely be returning! :)

What a nice surprise! We were in the area going to a show, so before the event we tried Murph’s since I had a seen a good online review about their Chicken Cordon Bleu. We really didn’t know what to expect from this Irish bar/restaurant, but what we got was great service, excellent food, and a nice experience from people who really cared that we showed up there to eat on a Saturday night. Yes, we had Chicken Cordon Bleu, and the portions were huge, and cooked to perfection. Nice people, good food, fair prices, a nice time. What more could we ask for?

Came here on a Monday and was surprised how busy the bar was. Being that it was the day before St. Patrick’s Day I ordered a Guinness and their honey garlic lamb chop. The lamb chop was good, the mashed potatoes were just meh and the mixed veggies were good as well. The crowd of the bar was really mixed, there were plenty of older people, and then a young crowd that were apparently part of a Darts Club or something. One of the younger patrons kept putting money in the jukebox to play super heavy metal music which was so off-putting to the atmosphere. I like a lot of metal music, but just not when I’m at a local dive joint catching up with friends on a Monday night. Service was good and there is plenty of parking behind the bar as well as a back entrance.

The food here is awesome! Seriously. Great place, warm and friendly staff, great selection of beers. Was closed due to a fire all last summer so some of the bad reviews that are written while it was closed for renovation are bogus. Try the pork jagerschnitzel, the chicken cordon blue or the Romanian steak tip sandwich, try the BBQ wings. Wife and I go there when we have a free night thanks to grandma and we go there with the kids for lunch on Sunday. Anne always gives my little girl ice cream… We love this place, you will too. Give it a try

Update: 1÷12÷15. Well after going back and keeping my promise I have decided to upgrade my original 1 star review to 3 stars. The food was pretty good(ordered a burger that was fresh and tasty). The Guinness was nitro and tasted good. Coldest beer in town(as management described their beer as)? No but at least tasted like Guinness should. Service was a bit slow(and there were very few people in the place) but friendly and attentive. Place smelled like smoke and after shave which was an upgrade over stale beer and BO but still kinda gross. Nice changes to the bar and a nice variety of beer in bottles. So overall a much better experience than previous visits and I would say give it a shot. It’s a local establishment that’s been around for a while and has clearly attempted to make necessary changes. Original Review July 2014: This place is vile. How does an Irish pub have awful tasting Guinness? Food is terrible. Place smells like BO, old men, and stale beer. As the other reviews state the range is high school students to old people(usually creeping on the younger girls partying on weekends at the bar). Avoid. You’re not missing anything. Update 10÷8÷14: After being badgered by a worker and now the owner about«How could I have possibly been at Murph’s in July when it was closed?» incessantly, please let me clarify. I have been to Murph’s many times over the years and decided to write a review on that day. I did not realize I had to write reviews when I was there last. Is that some kind of unwritten Unilocal rule? Be that as it may they have asked me to go back since it has been renovated(and even offered to pay for my meal). I will go back on my own dollar(at some point) and give an honest and updated review. The Guinness better be good(and by good I mean Nitro).

Went back to Murphs after the reno from the fire. Only to find that there was now a rest room on the main floor. What an improvement from having to go downstairs to use the rest room. I’m sure the ladies feel more at ease now when the call comes not to have to go down to the dungeon. The food has improved the atmosphere was nice. The wait staff did a fine job being prompt and courteous. I would recommend this restaurant to all my friends and family.

I went to Murphs for a catered party for about 50 people. They served brunch items including scrambled eggs, sausage and potatoes as well as delicious chicken marsala, eggplant Parmesan, and other tasty dishes. The renovated space is nicely decorated in simple way. The service was courteous, accommodating and prompt and the food and drink items were quite good. Ann and her crew did a fantastic job. I would highly recommend Murphs for any catered affair.

I live a few blocks away and I love it. The Irish nachos are the way to go if it’s your first time there, also ask for the creamy Italian dipping sauce you won’t be sorry. Friday and Saturday nights are usually filled with a younger crowed and karaōke so bring your singing voice or ear plugs. The restaurant is filled with great food and service. Especially since it’s been remodeled murphs has only gotten better. Btw if you’re only going for dessert order the baileys cheese cake.

This used to be a weekly stop when I was younger, sadly it hasn’t this place hasn’t aged well. The locals are always there and always giving off the weird vibe. The last time I went in a couple of weeks ago I was served a warm beer. I’m not talking a room temperature but a warm beer. I took a sip and found the closest exit. I’m more then likely to never return.

I had the filet Mignon with blue cheese and it was perfectly cooked, delicious and really reasonably priced. I love their sweet potato fries. The meal came with a soup or salad, I chose salad and enjoyed the blue cheese dressing. I was able to pick a hard to find beer out of their refrigerated case. The dessert menu was enticing but I was too full! Definitely give Murphs a try!

A local dive bar/restaurant that has looked the same for quite some time. Decent size restaurant in the back with a pretty large menu with good food though there’s nothing special but they do have a large refrigerator by the bar with all different kinds of beers that don’t seem to disappoint at all. The prices for the grill area and the drinks are cheap and worth it. Never a complaint from me here.

Set out to get a late night bite only to find everything had closed early on this rainy Sunday. I’ve heard people had a decent meal before but never stepped in myself. Ordered two different sandwiches. The chicken parm sandwich was barely edible. The sauce had no flavor and huge chunks of onions and was Served on old, stale bread. The other was a French dip, served with mashed potatoes. The meat was tough and fatty with no flavor. The mashed potatoes were bland and had the consistency of paste. Since my girlfriend couldn’t eat this we shared my chicken parm. When the waitress finally returned we finished my meal only. We told her not to wrap up our leftovers(the disgusting French dip) and she was shocked. She then took it to the back and we saw her eating from the plate. This must be one of the worse places in New York and probably the USA. Don’t eat here even if you are starving.

Used to frequent Murphs quite a bit many moons ago when beer was one of my favorite food groups. They have a large selection of beer from around the globe. A few nights ago, a friend suggested it because he was craving boneless buffalo wings. Well, the boneless buffalo wings are still a treat! Also ordered a french dip with a side of mashed potatoes(instead of the fries). The sandwich was good, but not great… the mashed however were really good. Butter really does make everything better! The portions are huge and you’ll probably want to take half home. I think it’s a notch above the typical bar fare you get elsewhere. Prices are reasonable, the staff is always friendly and there’s plenty of parking in the rear lot.

I used to frequent this place often, but that was over 5 years ago and I feel as if it has taken a turn for the worse in recent years. My most recent experience there left me feeling a bit cheated out of the Pub food I was craving. We got a burger, a Ruben(come on now how much more traditional can you get than those two choices!) and wings as an appetizer. The wings were just not good, i’m talking just taken out of a bucket, dropped in a fryer and tossed in some cheap hot sauce mixed with some cheap barbeque sauce. The burger was just ok, nothing special… the fries were like mush and undercooked and the ruben was cut so thick and fatty it was actually tough to eat. The onion rings were good though!(which isn’t saying much being they are bought at restaurant depot in huge bags all prepared to be skillfully dropped into a fryer!) There are too many other decent places in the area for me to ever go back… and this time I mean it. Sorry Murphs. Oh and the bar area is just uncomfortable in my opinion. I’d go to Shackletons for a better burger or meal, or you also have Public house 55 up the road, even try Croxley’s(which if you read my other reviews I am NOT crazy about for the food), but its better than Murphs.
