Good Chinese food. Fresh chicken dishes. Excellent fried homemade noodles. Fresh duck sauce is good too.

I’ve always trusted Unilocal reviews and never had a bad experience until I decided to order from here. We bought(delivery) red chicken curry, pad Thai, shrimp rolls, crab rolls, chicken corn soup. The only thing that was even edible was the rolls, we threw out the rest. I don’t know what the red curry was suppose to look like but it smelled and looked disgusting. Pad Thai was very spicy(we asked for mild) with no flavor. It took them over an hour to deliver which was fine but not for this quality of food. Never order from here!

We’ve been to Chef Lin’s about five times. The first time was great – until we showed our restaurant dot com gift certificate. Then the owner, who had been chatting us up, was no longer Mr. Nice Guy. He also insisted that we had to present coupons before ordering. The food was very good, though, so we gave it another try. The next time, we gave the server the coupon up front. The food was still good, but the portions noticeably smaller and the service not attentive. Skip ahead to our visit today. The air conditioning was apparently not running, even though the outdoor temperature was something like 90 degrees. We probably had the same server that another reviewer described as clueless. She barely talked and was not at all pleasant, especially after we gave her the coupon. We asked for water; it was barely colder than room temperature. I guess they want customers to buy soda from the refrigerator case. These are the dishes our group had: Fried wontons — Very crispy and delicious, served with sweet and sour sauce for dipping. Scallion pancakes — Neither the best nor the worst I’ve had. These might be deep-fried. Fried half chicken — Very lightly seasoned, but crispy on the outside and juicy inside. General Tso’s chicken — Tiny pieces, small portion, flavor just okay Sweet and sour chicken — Very small pieces, overcooked, small enough portion to be served on a small plate. The server didn’t bring more sauce, just left behind the sauce leftover from the wontons. Buffalo wings — This was the most memorably bad part of the meal. The wings were fine. However, we received only six wings, when the menu indicated that the order size was eight. When my husband politely mentioned this to the server, she ARGUEDWITHHIM and said that it’s six, it’s always been six, and the menu says six. I’m pretty sure she spoke more words in that argument than in the rest of our visit. When she walked away we thought she’d check the menu or talk with the chef, but she never came back with an apology or two more wings or a partial credit on the bill. She didn’t mention it again. She cleared our table without saying a word, then dropped off the check without saying a word. I don’t think we saw her smile at all. We’ve seen happier, friendlier people at fast-food places(even in New Jersey). Even though the food is pretty good, we won’t be going back. The portions have gotten too small for Chef Lin’s to be a good value. More importantly, though, we won’t return because the service was atrocious.

I found this place on resturant dot com. 25 for 50. The place was very hot when we got in, but they put the air conditioning on soon after so it got better. They said no Thai food because the chef was not there. Ordered the poo poo platter which was ok. Very fried. We expected the warmer flame bit they did not provide it. More like a fried Appatizer assortment. We ordered the mushi chicken and sesame chicken. They served us a diet coke that tasted awful. We checked their cooler and saw that there was cans close to expiring. We grabbed one that had a better date. The food portions were provided in small plates and for the price they charge I expected their to be larger portions. The food itself was great! Loved the taste. The waitress(if you would call her that) was clueless. I don’t think she understood a word I asked her. Never brought over water. Just horrible service. Will I ever go back? Yes. But only for takeout.

One of the worst chinese food we have ever tasted. Unfortunately every single thing we ordered was bad to the extent that it was inedible. The General Tso’s chicken came in a bright orange extremely thick sauce and the chicken was over fried and looked and tasted like wrinkled cardboard. The Schezuan tofu was again over fried and dry in spite of asking for it to be steamed. The was barely any sauce with it . The chicken egg rolls were dripping oil and the inside was frozen. My shrimp in garlic sauce was ok but the potion size was minuscule. We ended up throwing almost all the food. Never again!

Chef Lin’s is a decent take out/delivery option for North Brunswick area. I had the orange chicken dinner special. Egg roll was quite good. Chicken was a bit on the too thick /too saucy side. I would like to order again and update review. Lots of online coupons offered. Lunch specials available at a very good price.

We have been living in this area for 3 years and have been DYING for a Chinese place that was like North Jersey… This little hidden gem is now our new fav restaurant! Food is fresh and hot. We ordered once for pick up and once for delivery. both AWESOME experience. The General Tsos Combo meal is extremely generous and super fresh. Egg rolls are not greasy and light the pork fried rice is amazing! Don’t look any further for AMAZING Chinese food… Chef Lin’s is the best the area

Don’t go to other chin3se food around north brunswick. This new place is great. It tops local Chinese restaurant around here. But try to call if you are going to pick up. It takes longer than regular Chinese food. They made to order. An ingredient is fresh and not salty at all but still great taste. Yep, they even advertise for low salt. Who else is worry about customers health with low salt not like the local eat-in place around this area. Other Chinese and Ramen place is like, you are literally drinking salt water with your money and it’s bad for your heart and Jack up your blood pressures. Have Ramen for few times you might have to get prescription for high blood pressure. Do they ever care? This place is amazing! People doesn’t know this place yet, because it’s new. I’ve been here 4th times and other than waiting. It’s 5 stars. I recommend chef specials rather than lunch specials. Lunch special is not good as chef special. Btw, very resonable price that easy on your wallet. Some of local eat-in around this area has pricy menu just because people reviews are reached to hundreds from Unilocal.Try it once and you decide it before you go to your habitual places. You will love it.

Best Chinese food in the area!!! Their boneless spare ribs are small tender pieces of yummy goodness not some heathen fist sized mass of pork for you to nom on. The Sesame chicken came out perfect, each piece golden brown, tender, and covered in a tasty slightly citrus sesame sauté. The fried rice is a little dark for my liking but tasty as well. So far, Crab Rangoon — Very Good, Fried Wontons — Very Good, Egg Roll — Good. This is now my go to Chinese place and is an oasis of good food in a desert of delivery.

The restaurant has only been open 11 days so I figured they would be on their best behavior. place has 12 tables or so. I walked in hostess is sitting down with a child and did not offer any help except pointing a finger. went to the register and ordered fried wontons, hot and sour soup, house special fried rice(s/be brown rice) and Mongolian beef which I was told was«very good». they advertise, low salt, no msg, but they are also missing flavor. the wontons were really greasy, the sauce was the bottled orange stuff. the rice was very orange too and I cannot tell if it is brown or not, few scallions, few vegetables, 2 shrimp and some tiny bits of chicken, no egg. there is NOTHING special about it. don’t order this. «Mongolian Beef» is nothing but sliced beef and onions, about 10 ounces of onions… I used them to flavor the rice. I then noticed that the receipt reads«beef with scallions» how they screwed the order up is beyond me, I was the only customer in the place. I had 15 mins. to wait for the food came back and the guy asked me if I was placing my order(which was sitting there). maybe their beef with scallions is Mongolian Beef? but it seems like it is just a very large container of onions. I would not order ANY of these items again. although they advertise«vegetable oil» it tasted a bit off on the wontons, maybe not hot enough or just old. don’t waste your money, even with the coupons.
