Dr. Cranford has been my eye doctor for about ten years now. Her office is located super-convenient for me literally at the entrance to my neighborhood, which is admittedly why I chose her in the first place. This is a family business, with her daughter serving as office manager and son-in-law helping as well. You are likely to see the grandchildren playing in the afternoons after school, and they are all simply nice people. Two years ago, I had what I considered to be a minor problem of some«floaters» that didn’t seem to go away, and called them just to mention in case it was serious. I was immediately asked to come in and examined — long story short, it was serious. I had a detached retina, which can be a huge deal.(As in, blind… or seeing.) I was referred to a retina specialist Dr. Cranford knew and was having surgery just a couple of days later. I wear gas perm contacts, and I am WAY near sighted. I’ve never had good vision, and my prescription can be tricky I admit. I’m also not as young as I used to be, and pretty much that prescription changes about every two years. One nice thing about Dr. Cranford is that she is a little older than me, so when she says«As we get older…» — I know she is speaking from experience in more ways than one. Call me crazy, but I like that. I say all this because, sometimes you might think the family owned practice of an optometrist isn’t as good as the care you might get from an opthamologist in, say, a hospital medical center. I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with going to an opthamologist in a hospital clinic, either, I’m just saying that sometimes the little guys make really good calls. This place is one of them.
