My wife and I were amazed at the B&B itself as well as the staff. We travel often and love B&Bs and this was by far the best we’ve experienced. The owner was so friendly and so were the staff. Each morning we had breakfast made by the very talented in-house chef and it was delicious with several small courses. The views of the rolling hills are gorgeous and we saw plenty of deer at the bottom of the driveway, including an albino doe. They were helpful with recommending local businesses and explained the cultural differences(everybody’s much friendly than in the northeast). We had a small mishap in our room after the previous guests damaged a piece of furniture and didn’t tell the staff. We were nervous they would expect us to pay for it, but instead they were apologetic and so accommodating. They explained that the last guest moved that furniture(obviously a rude guest, but we never could have known) and they were sure it wan’t our fault and made us feel so much better about it rather than embarrassed. During conversation they learned my wife took me there for my birthday and when we came home from dinner on my birthday night, there was a delicious homemade cake waiting in the room with a personal message. They even sent us a Christmas card later in the year with a picture f us in front of the front doors. Unlike any other B&B I’ve ever stayed at, the building is actually new and was designed to be a B&B which is why its so charming, but well laid out. The rooms are extremely spacious and private. And the lower level would be awesome for a large gathering. Needless to stay, we will be back and plan to bring friends next time.

You will not be disappointed. It’s everything you want in a bed and breakfast. Delicious food, good company and fantastic surroundings. I instantly relax just thinking about our time there. :)

Butterfly Meadows is an impressive B&B. Wonderful common areas, isolated farm location, grand home with large reading areas, many books, fireplace in the common room. This place is wonderful and had the capacity to host small business or conference meetings with a conference room and many very nicely equipped rooms. Perfect for a isolated workshop or get together. The rooms are perfect, big windows, nice TV, fan(something most places forget), hard wood floors, and the works. As good as most 5 star resort King bedrooms. Positives Beautiful home — several areas of common space. Great breakfast — country style coffee bars on each floor. Middle of woods on a hill. very peaceful Negatives. Unfortunately Butterfly has four negatives, one is also a positive but is amplified as a negative by house rules. 1. $ 35 dollar a day fine for food in the room brought in from offsite. I did not violate this but it included anything even soda pop in a small cooler. Since there is no food on site to have other then a few cookies in a jar this is a considerable hardship for anybody staying longer then one night. Solution is to have food for purchase or for free in the common areas by the coffee bar. Or as many B&B do have a fridge someplace where they want people to eat in a common area. 2. Whole House Alarm is set at 10PM every night. Nobody is allowed to open any doors after 10PM until 6AM. Now I could understand 1AM — 6AM, but 10PM is very early for me. I don’t go to bed for two more hours. I might want to sit on the deck and enjoy the stars since I am out in the middle in the farm country. To be fair the host said we could call the owner and have them disarm the system if we wanted to leave or get something from the car. I however find very rude to call somebody after 10PM unless I was stuck in the cold and had no other option, so that is a really uncomfortable option unless emergency so I was stuck inside. It also makes it hard for guest that attend any kind of show in Nashville because it is a good 45 minutes drive down to Butterfly, to arrive before 10PM from an evening Nashville show or dinner is unlikely. — The security on the doors of this house exceed any system on any B&B I have ever been in city or country, US or foreign, I wonder about why in the middle of the Tennessee country this is needed? 3. Remote location. This is both good and bad. Good, for getaways, bad for every other need. Closest restaurant is in Franklin 20 minutes one way, better leave before 8 because otherwise you won’t make it back before 10 and you can’t bring the food back with you so no run to the Grocery store. Eat well before you enter at 10, because after that all you have is the cookie unless you already ate it before you read the no food rule. The no food rule is amplified by the Remote location and the Alarm system 4. Nobody is around. Most of the time I was there the place was deserted with no staff anyplace. I really enjoy the B&Bs where the owners are really invested in the place and love people. I never met the owners of this B&B so I don’t know if they are, but from what I experienced the B&B is run by staff, I met four people who I never saw two times, I never saw or met the owners and the lady at the end took my picture by the fireplace. While I understand the owners would like a photo book of the guests, they never met me so what is the point. I felt this was a bit on the iffy side and I kind of felt like I should have said no but I let her take the picture anyway.
