Well, I came back, not by choice I might add. I was really hoping to see an increase in service or food quality, but I was disappointed once again. Where to begin, the server was not very pleasant whatsoever. If they don’t want to be hospitable in a service job, don’t employ them! I don’t think she smiled once the entire service. One bad server, I can forgive; two bad servers and I start to question management. Even worse than the service was the food. The price of the dish would be okay if the kitchen could make the dish well. The French onion soup was rather delicious I’ll give you that, but I mean, it’s French onion soup; not exactly the most difficult to make. My pork tenderloin sandwich was this little sliver of breaded pork with a mountain of peppers. The components are okay, but there were some major flaws with such a simple dish. The ratio of break to the other ingredients was way out of balance. There was a solid inch and a half of just bread left on one end. The pork was nicely cooked but terribly under seasoned, and same for the peppers. If you’re trying to make up for the lack of pork with peppers you better make damn sure they are delicious. Worse than that, the French fries were severely lacking salt. The timing was just as bad. There were four of us dining and the entrées came out at different times leaving one person waiting over two minutes for their meal. There is certainly potential for this establishment to improve and I really hope they do.

My first ever negative review I’ve made on Unilocal. My mom always said, don’t say anything if you don’t have anything good to say. But, the 3 star rating is way too high and wanted to warn y’all … Will not come back.

My beau and I went to this establishment for a little pre-Valentine’s fare. Upon entry, it was a little crowded and awkward because of how the bar is situated. Once we maneuvered past this, however, we were quickly seated(thankfully, since we didn’t make reservations.) It appears our timing was just right, because as we enjoyed our dinner the place really filled up. While this is most defilnitely an Italian joint, it has somewhat of an old Wisconsin supper club feel. We enjoyed the French onion soup and then moved on to our entrees. I had the chicken parmesan, and the mister had a creamy pasta dish with crab meat in it. We were both pleased — not out of this world pleased — but happy enough as we went on our merry way.

My family visits this restaurant quite frequently until the issue we had today… now we will never go there again! We had a problem with the bill… when got it, we were charged incorrectly and we brought it to the server’s attention. She told us about a special deal that they had and it turned out that SHE was wrong. I asked for the owner’s father/manager and he did absolutely NOTHING to accommodate us or even fix the bill… he said that WE(the customer) misunderstood the server even though he wasn’t even there at our table while she was talking to us. The problem with this restaurant is that the only way that they can keep people coming back is to have a CONTINUOUS Groupon and CONTINUOUS coupons for buy one get one free. We will be bringing our business to other restaurants in the are who have better food and friendly management who are welcoming… not who look crabby when you walk in the door. Usually when we walk in, we are not greeted with a smile and it seems as if we are inconveniencing them when they need to seat us.

I bought a groupon to this place bc it is conveniently located a few mins away from me. I read the reviews on Unilocal afterwards and became worried that I would have a subpar experience w similar complaints about staff/service, ambiance, and food quality compared to price. Here is a breakdown of my experience: I had reservations for two at 730pm on a Friday night(also NYE). We arrived at 720pm, but were not seated until 8:10pm. There was not a wait or anyone ahead of us when we arrived. When we entered, the host(and owner, I assume) was not at the reception desk. The bartender acknowledged us several awkward moments later, seeing as how she was right in front of us. In her defense, she was quite busy bartending. We ordered drinks at the bar and perused the menu. After 8, I stood up to see if I could locate the host/owner. I felt like we had been forgotten. Perhaps he thought we had grown impatient and were ready to leave, bc just then he signaled us to stay and explained that our table was almost ready. A few more minutes later, we were seated. Also, the host/owner acknowledged our wait time and was gracious. This was probably the most interaction we had with him at this point; he wasn’t as terrible as many reviews make him sound. Our booth was situated near the kitchen entrance. Being seated so close to the kitchen entrance didn’t feel like a «bad table», more like«part of the show». Although small and very dimly lit, the entire place was bustling. I liked the energy. Enter, Server Eli: She is one of the best servers I have ever had! Her sweet, gracious, upbeat attitude and proficiency was the turning point of our experience! When I presented the group on to her, she didn’t skip a beat in adjusting the bill accordingly, nor did she express disdain for discount dining, as some places and people do. We ordered minestrone soup(average), beef tortellini house special(good, not great), and chicken Parmesan w Alfredo sauce requested for the side of pasta that comes with it(GREAT!!!). Bread and butter was included. With the group on, I saved about $ 12, excluding tip. I do think Casa Di Giorgio is a bit overpriced for the kinds of dishes we ordered. Wouldn’t go there again w out a coupon. Also, We had to change our plans a bit bc we weren’t expecting to end dinner so late, nearly 940pm. Honestly, Eli and the chicken Parmesan were the best aspects of our dining experience.

Used to be a favorite of mine. Don’t know if cooked changed but food quality is not what it used to be. Drinks and wine are very good and priced well. Pizza is very good but long wait time. Tried a variety of food with recent fish fry which were over-done. Spagetti noodles over-done to the point of mushy. Salad is good as is shrimp cocktail. Just would hope the entres would improve, as is used to be substantially better. A lot of the usual wait staff are no longer there and the new staff is learning and not quite as attentive or efficient.

Went to Casa Di Giorgio with a party of 6(plus a small child) Friday night for a family member’s birthday. Two servers were assigned to our table and though both were very friendly, they did not seem to know much about the food, and when they couldn’t answer our questions they just said«I don’t know» without offering to find out. When another member of my party asked if they could substitute the rice in the Pollo al Proscuitto for pasta, the server said she wasn’t sure because everything was prepared ahead of time. In the end they were able to accommodate. I ordered the Smoked Salmon with Farfalle Pasta off of the specials menu. It came with a cup of Clam Chowder that I enjoyed. The pasta itself came out very hot — too hot to eat, as if it had been nuked too long in the microwave and the alfredo sauce was as thin as water. My husband ordered the Steak Siciliano, described as a «six ounce medallion of tenderloin» under the sandwich menu. It seemed more like pressed meat without any flavor and the bread was very soggy. Certainly not what we expected from a sandwich priced at $ 19.99. We didn’t have any of the coupons other Unilocalers talked about, so overall the entire meal seemed extremely overpriced for the(lack of) value we felt we received. Previously prepared, microwaved food should only be served at home, not at a $ 20-$ 30 per plate Italian restaurant. Disappointed.

On our way home we seen this little Italian joint… I was nothing fancy but sometimes these little places have the best pizza. So we walk in and the hostess was extremely friendly. Thats were all the good times stop. We sit down and get the menu and right away realize were in trouble. Look in the pizza section… No cheese and pepperoni or simple pizza like that all these fu fu pizzas with olive oil, asparagus etc etc… Waitress comes by and just I don’t want to get into all her issues but let’s just call her extremely pushy. I said can we just get a couple large sausage and pepperoni pizzas. Long pause like she couldn’t compute what I was saying… You want both pizzas like that? Yeah real simple! OK well they take a long time you’d better order some apps! OK then get us some fried mozzarella… That’s it there’s only like 5? OK get us 2 of those. So the mozzarella comes out rather quick nothing special… and then we wait for over an hour for the simplest pizza order in a very slow restaurant… We just want to leave these people are rude. So I get the order to go 70 bucks for pizza that couldn’t hold its own against freaking pizza Hut! Fail I’ll make it my personal mission to make sure my family and friends don’t suffer this place.

2nd Try:(2 Stars) Dropped by for dinner. Veal ravioli were undercooked and cold. Ask the server to have the kitchen warm it up some more, wasn’t any better. We did not get a welcome or a goodbye from the hostess as we enter or leave the restaurant. I’m super disappointed. On a positive note I did like the minestrone soup. 1st Try:(4 Stars) Dropped by for lunch on a Thursday. Ordered the meat ravioli and it was probably the best I’ve tasted so far. I can’t wait to try other things on the menu.

I have not been to Casa Di Giorgio in a couple years because on previous visits it just was not memorable and I was never to eager to go back. A friend had a coupon so we decided to try it again and I am so glad I did! The cream of asparagus soup was delicious and the eggplant parmesan was wonderful. Layered like a lasagna with ricotta and plenty of mozzarella and baked until bubbling. The restaurant is beautiful and comfortable; service was good but not great. I will definitely return with or without a coupon! Their prices are fair and not over priced especially with all their coupons out there.

I love this place. We had Francesca for our server. She just started a week ago and she was a great server. The food is out of this world good! My husband always orders the chicken parmigiano and he loves it. I ordered the bolognaese(I know I murdered the spelling) it was fantastic. I’ve had the pizza too and it’s fabulous.. The fried calamari is great… ok everything I’ve ever had is fantastic.

The service was great. I wasn’t too impressed with the food. I ordered the chicken parm and I didn’t like the breading on the chicken breast at all.

Casa Di Giorgio is a workhorse open 7 days a week and features a $ 5 extended 3−7pm bar happy hour menu 7 days a week. Since I didn’t know about this happy hour I was excitedly determined to try as much as possible for 5 bucks a plate. $ 5 escargot– yes please! Served traditionally — in herbs, garlic, butter. The escargot plate was cracked, but hey — still worked. $ 5 onion soup. Closest to actual menu price, but still saved a couple of bucks. At first I thought it needed more cheese but at the end it felt like enough(I’m a cheese glutton). However, I couldn’t figure out why it was so incredibly oily. I suppose they over did it when cooking the onions down? Or is gruyère(as the menu claimed) that much of an oily cheese? Anyway, overall a decent dish with good ratios and a rich, dark brown broth. A solid 3 out of 5. Not the best, not terrible. $ 5 shrimp de jonghe. Basically it was 4 butterflied shrimp, a square bowl of butter and 4 triangle toasts. Needless to say I skipped eating the bowl of butter and toast triangles. I ate the 4 shrimp though. But, not too much flavor or seasoning. $ 5 mozzarella wrapper prosciutto — the worst thing I ate. This and the shrimp I would not order again for $ 5 definitely not for full price. The prosciutto didn’t taste fresh. The mozzarella cheese used wasn’t buffalo mozzarella fresh — is there really any other way to go? It was like a processed cheese wrapped in old prosciutto and I bet it was string cheese. But more melty(meaning again, «processy»). Let’s not forget an order for a regularly priced $ 5ish house salad. I needed something healthy with all of this butter and oil! And this is what I ate my butterflied shrimp with. My dressing choice was vinegar and oil cruets.(I only used the balsamic ;) the cruets were cracked but they worked(sensing a theme here??). I have a special place in my heart for supper clubs and traditional style. But in this day, it cannot fall short with the same tired dishes that fell short 50 years ago. More thought has to be put behind what gets served to people. Diners are smarter, have more options, thus are choosier. Ingredients MUSTBEFRESH. Balance is a prerequisite. Everything has to make sense. The best I can rightfully give Casa Di Giorgio is 3 stars. I don’t know if they’ll ever make it past that unless they keep some of the old traditions & regulars but get progressively fresh and new. This place is sweet but needs some oxygen. My server, a young female, was the sweetest and worth the 25% tip. Love most of the happy hour $ 5 wine options. The $ 5 «martini options were mostly sugared down«wanna be» martinis, however. Good for the simple girly girl ;) but not so much for a seasoned palate.

My family and I had the spaghetti and a pizza. We had a very nice time. We thought the food was excellent and so was the service. We had a groupon which was taken before we ordered. I will return especially for the spaghetti.

Had the penne pasta and meatballs, sorry but I have had meatballs all over. These were the dark sad kind. Salad was great but bread was really poor! Wine was over priced! They should get their meatballs from Mama Angie’s deli they rock! Too bad so sad!

My first visit to CD’G on a Tuesday night was a great time. It was a friendly but quiet atmosphere since it was a Tuesday night. The apps(escargot, calamari) were excellent. My main course was the mediterranean seafood paella which was loaded with succulent fresh mussels, clams, scallops, shrimp, squid and the sweetest langostino I’ve had in some time. Along with all the seafood(they DON’T skimp on the proteins) was a delicious rich and hearty saffron rice. My brother also raved about his paella dish. My good friend said his filet was seasoned well and cooked perfectly(mid-rare). Our waitress was very attentive, friendly and helpful in explaining some of the dishes in greater detail since there were so many good choices to pick from. We will definitely be going back soon to try some of the other items on their menu. Highly recommended!

I wanted to not like this place after reading some of the reviews, but I really was in the mood for some heavy garlic and did not wish to drive too far. So I rolled the dice. I was going to order a starter as well as an entrée but decided to just go with the rigatoni bolognese with a side of meatballs. It arrived about ten minutes later, by which time I had demolished the warm bread and as much of the salad as I was going to eat. The salad was rather on the poor side and the Italian vinaigrette dressing was more oil than anything else. The food was hot and meaty and cheesy and delicious. I got all of the Vitamin G that I needed, thanks! Plus: My server was Dan. Dan can hustle. I think he had tables on both sides of the restaurant so he was running around quite a bit. I tipped him well. Minus: Moments before the food arrived, the lights were turned WAY down. Like«Where’s my fork?» darkness. When my check arrived, I had to use the flashlight app on my phone to read and sign. I mentioned it to a waiter, who said it was the manager’s doing and they don’t buck the manager.
