As a holiday gift to my mom and sister, I booked a private cooking class for the three of us with Deb. Deb was charming and professional, and she made the class both informative and fun. Upon arrival to her beautiful home, she had light refreshments waiting for us. Since this was a private class, we had collaborated in advance on a menu, and everything was well organized and ready to go when we started. We chose to do the Country French menu from a number of wonderful options. The menu included a starter of olive tapenade and grilled bread, French onion soup, cassoulet, and poached pears with crème anglaise for dessert. We began the lesson with a brief knife skills lesson, and she took us through the steps of each recipe very clearly, making sure that each person got to experience the various techniques and preparations. At the end, we had a nice lunch to enjoy our efforts! I would definitely make each of the recipes again. Deb has a very well-equipped kitchen, and was happy to answer any and all questions about technique, gadgets, or the recipes. Deb is also very knowledgeable about the local restaurant scene and wine, it was really fun to chat with her about those things as well. If you have a group of 3 – 4, a private class is great! I understand that Deb will also be offering classes that you can sign up for individually, and this would also be a fun way to meet people and learn something new!

I first met Deb at Laguna Culinary Arts where I had taken a class or two. Deb is an amazing chef and lots of fun to work with. I’ve done a few private parties with her for my bachelorette, my husbands bday and a girls day of cooking appetizers. She is creative, fun and a great teacher too! Looking forward to more learning and fun with Deb!
