Don Pachos Cantina

Being a Californian, I am very picky about my Mexican food. That being said, this place might do it for other people but not so much for me. No vegan options, and the vegetarian options are so-​so.

OK, so it is really busy tonight and the food is coming a little slow… but you know what? Who cares… this is the best freakin’ Mexican restaurant this side of the boarder! Frank is amazing! I have a gluten allergy and had ordered a tamale and the kitchen caught it! Thank you for saving my evening! Don Pancho’s is gluten savy and they really care about their patrons! WE LOVE YOU!!!

For Fanklin Virginia, this restaurant should get five stars. Definitely check it out, avoid three guys Italian restaurant at all costs.

Don Freakin’ Pancho’s…best Mexican this side of the border… well the Texas boarder anyway. Closest thing to home I have had since I left San Antonio! Worth the drive… Olé’

Great place in the middle of nowhere. Travelling back from Florida to NY. Went by the reviews on Unilocal and glad we did. Food was really good. Service was great– our waiter was very attentive to our needs and came by often. Texas margarita delicious! Would visit again if I travel this way in the future. Food fairly priced.

This is seriously the best place to eat in Franklin. No where else have we had better service or food. We eat here at least twice a month. For a family of five, we’ve never spent more than $ 40 including a 20% tip. We can barely do that at one of the local fast food places. The staff is kind and energetic. We love Don Pancho’s!

This is and always has been my favorite place to eat in Franklin, Va. I have eaten just about everything on their menu over the years and have recently been enjoying the simple things like tacos, chile rellano, and last but not least their carnitas (had them recently in taco form). Tonight just simple steak tacos with some pics de gallo and some table side guacamole and it was fantastic. The staff is awesome and know us well when we go in. Thanks to Carla, Frank, Tomas, Angel, and Miguel and the rest of the gang. The service is good and the food is great. Try the carnitas with the red chili Colorado sauce on them for something different. You won’t be disappointed!

We were seated pretty fast but then we were forgotten about. They lost our order and we ended up being there for over two hours. Won’t be going back there again

I love the friendly staff at Don Panchos, they always greet you with a smile. My favorite menu item is the Burrito San Diego, it’s big enough for 2 meals! They serve enormous drinks with free refills. This is my Go-​To mexican restaurant.

Great food and good place to watch the game or meet up with friends

We love the food at Don Pancho’s. The fajita quesadilla, burrito San Diego, chicken soft tacos, taco salad, and queso dip are some of our favorites. The pollo con crema is also popular. They have a great selections and prices on their lunch menu. Really, their food is amazing and the stuff cravings are made of! My main issues with Don Pancho’s have to do with the atmosphere. There is definitely a sports bar feel there. There are many large tvs, mainly on sports or news channels. For a while, they had their waitresses wearing tank tops which I thought was pretty ridiculous as we like to go as a family and I just did not feel it was appropriate. Last few times we have gone, though, it seems like they tried to bring a little class back and had their servers wearing white button up dress shirts and ties with black slacks. Occasionally we have had poor service there, but typically the service is ok and the food is brought out in a timely manner. You can place orders for pickup, but have to pickup at the bar (I’m not a huge fan of hanging out at the bar, but it’s a good way to have their amazing food if you don’t feel like eating in). We have eaten there many times and have never been disappointed by the food.

If you like HUGE Flat-​screen TV’s and a pretty loud sports bar feel… this IS the place to go! However, if your on a date night or want to get away for just a bit to catch up with some friends… head to the other mexican place in Franklin, El Ranchero, located in the Walmart parking lot just one minute away… the food here at Don Pancho’s has lost it’s luster ever since moving down the road and merging with the local bar and grill :(
