Thoroughly disappointed. Call me a bbq snob if you will… I got a combo plate with brisket and pulled pork. It came with 2 sides(baked beans and french fries). The brisket was very fatty. The fat in it did not render properly so it was slimy. The pulled pork had a tang to it that seemed like it had been brined in or injected with vinegar. The baked beans were very sweet and very, very thick(I prefer my beans not so sweet). The french fries were good. And I can say that both of the young ladies we dealt with were incredibly nice and attentive. I have to say that though this will be our only visit.

Very good food and service. I had a beef brisket and my wife had sliced pork and both were excellent. Worth going back again! Cold beer too.

Went there for lunch and the BBQ was poor. Way too much tomato sauce/ketchup and the spicing was out of control. Maybe they were hiding the meat; if so great job. I can usually eat anything that’s close to Q but I could not take more than a few bites. Check please. Embarrassing for NCBBQ.

Very good food!!! We had dessert also and it was great. The staff was nice and I would go there again for lunch or dinner.

Really solid ribs, better than most. They also have a sweet potato dish that is great. Don’t miss the black eyed peas, food not group;)

Service was very friendly and quick. Nice selection; smoked turkey option is not something you see at every BBQ joint, and was pretty tasty. We were not disappointed in our meal, but it was not a standout.

I’ve ate at a lot of BBQ joints, and this is one of the best. Have eaten here on several occasions and have been satisfied with everything I’ve tried.

Very tasty BBQ! I started my meal with fried pickles and fried green beans and it came out piping hot with a great spicy ranch. I decided to mix the spicy ranch and the BBQ sauce to create an mix of spicy and sweet — would definitely advise you do the same. I love my BBQ and while everything on the Menu looked quite desirable, I decided with the pulled pork sandwich. The rest of my group got ribs. I was very impressed with the taste and the meat. The House BBQ sauce was very sweet. The spicy one was good as well. My group said that the ribs were great too and they looked good. We were too full to have dessert, but if we did — we would have had the pumpkin crunch.

Gross place to eat, everything I have had there is nothing special and pricey. The atmosphere is dark and it feels very dirty.

Some items are always fantastic. Like their salads, and chicken tenders. However, the portions on the pulled pork and turkey are inconsistent. Last night I ordered ½ rack of ribs and I swear the children’s meat portion had more meat than my ribs did. It was the skinniest ½ rack. The baked potatoes were old. However, everything did taste good. The pumpkin crunch is fantastic. So are the fried mushrooms.

This is by far the best BBQ& Ribs place I have ever been to! I have been to this restaurant multiple times and tried different things on the menu, and nothing has disappointed me.

Some goooood eatin up in this place. The local brewed beer from Asheville was so cold; there was a thin layer of ice on the brim. My brisket platter with lima beans were excellent. Tender with a nice smoke flavor. For desert, the pumpkin crunch with cinnamon ice cream was the best I’ve ever had. A must have. The wait staff was pleasant and attentive.

When we walked in my partner glanced around and observed«this is like the Fridays of bbq». It feels like a mill chain restaurant and the food was spectacularly poor. The pulled pork was bland and tasted like it was boiled in salt water.

Really good BBQ place. I tried the beef brisket too. It was pretty good but the piece I had was a bit fatty. They even have Abita on draft!!! I almost never see that. The best thing for me on the menu is the fried mushrooms. Even a half order is huge. The mushrooms are fresh, hot and juicy. They come with this ridiculously addictive spicy dipping sauce. Kinda like a ranch with horseradish(not sure). It has this afterburn, but you still want more. The staff is always fast and friendly. I really like eating there.

Stopped here on a tip from our hotel front desk. Guy told us it was the best BBQ. Wrong! Small portions(including the glasses of wine). Ribs had very little meat on them and overall bland food. Not too many other choices of decent places to eat, so what can you expect?

When you’re driving from Ohio to North Georgia via the Great Smokies, dining options aren’t exactly plentiful. There’s little but horrendous interstate-exit chain fare most of the way and, once off the interstate, only small mountain towns not exactly teeming with restaurants. But when I’m in North Carolina(the state where I was born), I think«barbecue,» even if this far-flung western edge of the state isn’t exactly Barbecue Central. Anyway, I saw the billboards for Fat Buddies and thought I’d give it a shot. Fat Buddies is only OK by NC standards. But that means it’s better than about 90 percent of the BBQ I can get in Cincinnati, where we now live. Pulled pork sandwich had a generous portion, and the meat was very moist and tender, but could have used a little more smokiness and bark.(Sauce on the side was cloyingly sweet, though, a far cry from the great peppery, vinegary stuff you get on the eastern side of the state.) Handcut shoestring fries came out piping hot and tasty. Fat Buddies is tucked into the corner of a shopping center behind a Lowe’s, about a half-mile off of 441. Décor is generally non-descript: low ceilings, wooden booths, carpets, rather dim lighting. In this day and age, it also seems that any rural or exurban restaurant, especially down south, must also have the obligatory Red State accoutrements: walls full of day-glo NASCAR flotsam(advertising cutouts, numbers, and even fenders and bumper assemblies), crappy modern country music on the sound system, and big muted flat-screen TVs with Fox News dribble and ESPN. Service was perfectly pleasant, but a bit on the slow side. I did see a couple of fat buddies while I was there. They weren’t exactly obese, and they didn’t seem to have much to say to each other(so I don’t know that they were actually very good buddies), but they did have nifty matching grey goatees. Overall, a very good lunch stop: 3.75 stars.

OK, first of all BBQ Pork Rules! Second, Pulled Pork Rules! Third of all … if you like pork barbeque … get yourself to Fat Buddies Ribs and BBQ … there are not many places finer for Pork BBQ than this. I don’t live close by(about 90 minutes away), but I get here as often as I can; and as often as my cholesterol allows! But, hey, I’m a Southern Boy, and we have to maintain a certain fat level in our blood … I’m sure of it! Now, I’ve got to convince the medical community! Beside BBQ, they have great sides, and tasty«belly washers». A litle more pricy than they were last year, and portions a tad smaller … but still good value for money. I’ll see you there … I’ll be the one on the corner on my third Pulled Pork Dinner! Oh, and Fat Buddies folks, please serve raw onions and dill pickles with the Pulled Pork. You can take the boy out of Texas, but …
