We are soooo grateful for the Liepers Fork Vets! They are the best ever!!! They come to you and have such a gentle, kind nature with the animals. We have used them for a dog, cats, hamsters and gerbils, and every animal is treated with respect and compassion. I would never go to anyone else!!!

Dr. Abelt is one of the best vets I have ever used! He is kind, caring, extremely knowledgeable, and competent. He is patient and takes the time to fully answer any questions one may have, which is important, especially when one doesn’t have a medical/​science background. My dog developed an ulcer, which then quickly progressed into peritonitis and a perforated ulcer, both life threatening conditions. Dr. Abelt performed two surgeries, saved my dog’s life, and cared for him for a week in «ICU». When my dog refused to eat, developed unpreventable complications, and became more sick (not Dr. Abelt’s fault), he immediately transferred my dog to Nashville Veterinary Specialists (also amazing vets!). It should also be noted that Dr. Abelt has a mobile veterinary practice and when animals are ill enough that they need to be in ICU, he keeps them at his house overnight with him and his wife (also a vet) and they both check on the animals constantly throughout the night. He also brings the animals with him wherever he goes during the day so they are monitored at all times. The animals aren’t left in a vet office overnight by themselves like in a LOT of places. Dr. Abelt treated my dog as though he was one of his own. I have seen him give my dog love and affection just as I would and although my dog is extremely anxious and skittish, he took to Dr. Abelt right away. After the transfer to the specialist, Dr. Abelt even continued to call to check on my dog’s prognosis AND visited him in the ICU at NVS. In summary, not only is Dr. Abelt highly experienced and well respected among vets throughout the city, his level of care and compassion are exemplary. I HIGHLY recommend him!
