It use to be an ok and fun place to bring your dog/dogs but the last few times I’ve been there it’s been packed with screaming children sliding down the DOG obstacles and deconstructing the DOG hurdles while their heavy set parents sit on the bench playing with a cell phone or stand around with their dogs on a leash! It’s pretty absurd. It’s a dog park not a child’s park. I’m done going here. Just another case of no common sense or class.

I wasn’t impressed. Yes, they have obstacles, but many of them aren’t the safest. The A-frame is made with roof shingles type materials. While dogs can grip it, it gets VERY hot in the heat of the day. Yes, it was pretty clean. But what scares me the most is that it’s right beside the Humane Society’s adoption center. Dog parks are already notorious for spreading disease at times. But when you’re right beside a shelter bringing in sick animals, it’s much worse. I won’t be going there again!

Seriously amazing! Perfectly permed grass with obstacle course! They have benches and shaded areas for during the sunny, hot months. They have a big dog and small dog area. There are water fountains for the pups. It’s just a really cool place. I wish it were closer to me.

I love this place. My dogs love this place. While it is difficult to find(I gave up on first try and ended up letting the dogs run around the softball and football field at Franklin HS), I am so glad I tried again the next day. Once we found the park it became our favorite in town. There are so many toys around such as tennis balls, big rubber balls(my dogs cannot get their mouths around them), ropes, etc. There is also an agility course set up. We’ve always wanted to try an agility course with our dogs, and while they are apparenly not naturals for all of it, we have a blast trying. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because I wish it were bigger. If we are ever headed out to a dog park this is the one that tops our list!

I visited Maggie’s Bark Park with my two German Shorthaired Pointers today and was thoroughly impressed. I’m surprised by the person’s comments below. There were well over 20 tennis balls, a large hard plastic ball about twice the size of a basketball, three large softball-sized hard plastic balls, several rope tug toys, and some other stuff. There are two plastic agility tunnels, one agility seesaw, one agility platform, and a big contraption that I’m not sure what it is for. My dogs are both schutzen trained but have never seen or used any agility equipment. They seemed to enjoy working on the agility equipment and then when let off command they loved pushing around the balls and retrieving/fetching. Since my pointers are 65+lbs., there wasn’t any reason for us to be in the small dog area. But, there is a small dog separate area for those with smaller breeds. The small dog area is smaller in size than the large dog area, but also has agility equipment. Now, it is November(almost December) so perhaps the park is more crowded in the spring and summer. Today, at a maximum, there were 6 dogs in the large dog area(4 in the small). I went at the height /warmest part of the day on a Sunday. I put«Not Good For Kids» in my «additional tips» because children under 10 years of age are not allowed in dog parks in Williamson or Davidson counties(yes, I’m a dork and looked up the rules on the counties’ websites).
