We are in the area visiting family, my sister and I brought my daughter in today and just fell in love with this toy store. The employees were extremely helpful and friendly. The store has a great selection of toys, some that you won’t find in a big name toy store. We left with a few Schleich animal figurines and the kiddo could not be happier! Thank you Main Street Toy Shoppe for sticking around in the days of big box stores and providing a bit of nostalgia and fun for our day in Franklin!

This is a tiny main street toy store. So supporting it is important to locals, I’m sure. I was glad to find a whoopee cushion that worked. The last one I bought 10 years ago in Pasadena, CA wouldn’t hold the air you blew in. Still, it broke in one day. Not the store’s fault. They don’t make it. I got them for my nieces, too, who loved it. There is a lot of Melissa and Doug type toys. Not fancy mega toys. The one thing I know I will seriously regret is not buying the moustache Christmas ornament. It was a large curled moustache and only 7 bucks.

A cute little toy shop in downtown Franklin. They have a nice Thomas the train setup that derails kids for 5 – 10 minutes. They also have a little house in the back for some cat critter toys that allowed my daughter to play for a few minutes. They stock a ton of Melissa and Doug stuff here along with some other niche toys. I like the layout of the store and the clerk was very friendly. Prices seemed a tad steep but on par with the area of Franklin it is in. A nice place to walk in with your kids after you have dragged them through a couple of the other downtown shops.

the perfect little small town toy store. they have my favorite: melissa and doug items, and also cute cloth dolls and other valuable toys(not the crap that fills the shelves of big-box marts) everything here is perfect.

This store is one of the reasons I LOVE living in Franklin, and I LOVE spoiling my neices and nephews. Nothing makes me happier than the birthday of a young one in my life, because I know I’m going to get to go play with all the great finds they have and select the perfect gift… and by shopping here, I KNOW my gift will not be repeated by anyone else. When you think about everything nostalgic that a toy store should be and look like, this place is it. An old, renovated building that has character. wooden floors almost asking that a toy car be placed on them… rooms full of a little girl’s delight right beside rooms of boy’s treasures destined to be dissected and buried but also slept with and taken to friend’s houses for play dates. I love the fact that this is again an independently owned small business, a true initiative of mine — so you are supporting a family that I have known for years in this business but also through an earlier continuing venture producing signs for me in Nashville. Just nice folks! About the only time I would not visit them is during Franklin’s Dickens of a Christmas festival… talk about too many people in too small of a space. Please do yourself a favor, and come back on Tuesday or Wednesday after that weekend — a kid needs time to explore, after all.

OMG! They have Flatsies here… OK they aren’t the ones from my youth, but one of the modern incarnations, but still cool. The selection was really interesting and different. This would definitely be on my list for gift giving for the children in my life. The store was also really well laid out and well lit.

This is one of the best toy stores in the Nashville area. I’ve lived here for twelve years and have four school-age kids. The selection here is awesome and I had trouble extracting my children from this fabulous store. Even my youngest said, «Daddy, this is WAY better than Target!» And I was so grateful for a place like this and that it helped to stir the wonder in all four of my kids. May this business live long and prosper!

This is a toy store that doesn’t either make me run screaming or weep for the youth of today or any other hyperbolic action. They actually have intelligent toys for kids, and there’s not a Barbie in sight. Yippee! The best thing I saw were compilation CDs for babies of The Beatles, Grateful Dead, Guns n’ Roses, and Mozart. What a collection! That would make an excellent baby shower present. There are lots of train sets and things to collect and build, and plenty of Klutz activity books and toys.

This is definitely my favorite new found place in Franklin, but probably mostly because my 3 year old just loved the cool toys that she found at every turn. OK, and I saw some pretty cool stuff I would like to buy for myself too. Some of the things I really liked were the automoblox, which are essentially wooden block cars with modern features, like rubber wheels, and cool styling. Other really great lines they carry Calico Critters, Gund, Schleich, and Madame Alexander. In all, really great stuff here, and kids would do well to turn off the TV and play with some of the mind stimulating toys they sell here.

Main Street Toy Co is a large and kid friendly toy store in downtown Franklin, you would think all toy stores would be inviting for kids but this place was especially cool with Toys and toy demos out and available. The store has dolls, trains, and all other formations of plastic. The store had some cool collectible dolls from the Wizard of Oz. These were all locked away in a case, but they look great. One special perk was that they had all the things you would need to build a train line for your Thomas the train engine to run all over your house. This is a great spot for kids.
