I stopped at MB’s Pastries for the first time today, and WOW! I purchased a coconut pie, and my husband and I agree it’s one of the best we’ve ever eaten. He said it reminded him of the ones his mother used to make. At only $ 10(once we receive a $ 2 rebate for returning the pie tin), I could barely make it myself for less. With the holidays coming up, we will be back!

So good that we went twice in one day… and again the next day. Best pie I’ve ever had and the lemon cookies are to die for!!!

We finally tried MB’s pies. For what seems like a year, we have driven by the pie hut at the corner of Burlington Mill and Forestville Rds and wondered about it. Now having tried the apple pie and the apple hand pie — my husband and I are both fans and I think my father is going to become a frequent customer. I don’t like a lot of apple pies — not a fan of the canned apple fillings or fillings that are super sweet and taste like canned apples. MB’s tastes like it is made with fresh apples sweetened with cinnamon and some sugar. The apple pie was at the top of their price range at $ 18 but they threw in the hand pie for free. Other pies cost around $ 14 there. MB’s has odd hours which is part of the reason we have not had their pie till today. I think they close at 3pm on Sundays and maybe some Saturdays. They are open usually Thursday — Sunday. They do deliver though to the Heritage area in Wake Forest which is really nice. Check out their facebook page to see their hours and offerings. We will definitely be back.
