If you have any interest at all in gems and the beauty that can come from the ground, you need to visit this place. My favorite part of the museum is the florescent mineral section, where there are ultraviolet lights that illuminate a multi-color display of magnificent beauty. The museum is incredible and the store has items for purchase that are beautiful. They also have a nice assortment of jewelry. This is a family owned business and when you learn about the history of this collection, it becomes even more fascinating. If you are in the Franklin area, you should absolutely stop into this business.

A combination of gem store and a museum in the basement, this free entry museum in Franklin has an enviable collection of gem stone on display. There is a fluorescent gems chamber where you turn the fluorescent lights ON and see the gemstone glow in shiny colors. It is a mini geological section of the Harvard Museum of Natural History. The gems sold in the store section are gorgeous and well priced.
