Steve’s Handyman

We hired Steve Kazijian and his sons to do some repair work on our home, including brickwork, electrical, some repair to the roof, and some minor work on the oak floors. We contracted him in May and he said he’d be finished by the end of June, but by mid-​November he still has not finished the work. Steve did the brickwork and roof work right away, but can’t seem to keep appointments to finish the interior work. I have no complaints about the brickwork. I had to ask him to redo one of the oak transition pieces between two rooms, because they hadn’t bevelled it and it was poorly fit into the door frame. He also was surprised that I expected them to finish the new wood pieces. They spilled paint on the floor and covered it with a rug. The front door has a draft after they replaced the wood piece at the bottom of the frame. Steve did work for two of our neighbors; one is happy and the other took him to small claims and had to have someone else finish the job. So, he might give a reasonable quote, but be prepared to wait forever for him to finish, and follow behind to make sure the work is up to standard.
