The Gazebo Cafe

We stopped by on Sunday in January, not too many of our other Unilocal bookmarks were open. The appeal is likely in summer when the whole place can be opened to al fresco dining. The Reuben was adequate, our other meal was the hot roast beef. The description is a bit misleading, it’s not piled high with real roast beef, looked more like steakums meat. At least they had herbal flavored of hot tea rather than just the typical Lipton option. Overall just ok.

I’ll start out by saying that my family was completely happy with their lunches, but mine fell very short of the mark. The service was friendly and food came out fast, but we were never again checked in on until we were standing up to leave. All serving ware is disposable and mostly styrofoam.
I ordered a veggie specialty sandwich, which was completely tasteless. They usually come with a olive spread that I requested they hold, which could have been part of the problem. I would not have known there was any guacamole if I had not specifically looked. The tomatoes also tasted like they were straight from the hothouse, without any flavor, and other ingredients were rather cheap. They were out of one of my favorite ingredients, bean sprouts, and never felt the need to tell me until I finally went out of my way to give feedback about my experience. They did not offer any recompense.
All in all, disappointing. My family had been here years before and said the quality has definitely gone down. I won’t miss it.

We had a muffaletta sandwich and a french dip sandwich. Also tried the enchilada soup and it was tasty and hot nice place to have lunch outdoors and Creekside. Sarah was our waitress and she was very nice.

Ok if you like plain Jane sandwiches. They still serve the old school chicken salad stuffed tomato, really? Nothing amazing or exciting here. Desserts right out of a box, the water has a profoundly funky taste. When we asked the server about the water she stated everyone says that. The only thing really nice was the outside seating.

Fell across this by accident while driving around, and would go back in a minute! Had the soup of the day and half a sandwich — yummmmmmmm
Food is fresh and tasty and prices are low — location is adorable.
We were there in the winter so didn’t get to eat outside — but could tell that would be lovely at the right time of year.

Definitely worth locating. Beautiful place right on the stream. Food was fresh and hot. Service was pleasant. I had the muffaletta sammich as well as shared brocolli cheese soup. Both were more than enough. The soup was in a fresh bread bowl that I so wanted to eat the bowl also :) Well worth locating this place.
