The Shop Around the Corner

During my only visit to the shop a man and woman were talking and had no time for a customer. When they started to whisper so that I could not hear their gossip, I knew it was time for me to leave and never return.

i don’t know who wrote the first review, maybe it was a friend of the ladies in the shop, or maybe it was the owner.
when my husband and i went in, the «ladies» were completely indifferent to us and everyone else. maybe we should have parked our mercedes directly in front of the shop instead of down the road, so that we could see that we could actually purchase something in there if we desired…
what bothers me most is they had all these christian items in there… boards painted with christian quotes, little trinkets with saints and crosses on them… but the «ladies» that worked there walked with their hands cupped behind their back, heads held up, and not saying a greeting of «hi, welcome» or upon leaving, not even a «thanks». there is nothing so spectacular in here that i would go back and dwell in the atmosphere of indifference to purchase. you can find stuff of the exact style and quality at le vie en rose (in lenox village), and for a lot less, might i add – and the store attendants will actually greet you, entertain you in conversation about the pieces, etc. or even the gas lamp antique mall in the 100 oaks are, they have the same stuff, with a lot more friendly and courteous service.
–i’ve been in a lot higher-​ended stores and treated with a lot more appreciation than here.
yeah, it’s neat stuff, but not stuff you can’t find anywhere else.
i don’t care if you are «riff-​raff», you still deserve to be greeted… haven’t these ladies seen secret millionaire anyway? especially in shop where the first things you see are knick-​knacs and pictures with bible verses.
it wasn’t just us, they didn’t greet ANYONE we were in there at the same time with, and it’s not because they were so busy they couldn’t keep up.

Ladies were very friendly. Enjoyed the conversation and shop contains a variety of unique items.
