I first called True Green for weed control and asked for a person to talk to me first. One day i come home and there is a sign that they put down fertilizer on lawn. I called to cancel and was told that next time someone will call day before. Nobody called till next day. Man said he can not do weeds and proceeded to put fertilizer down even though i told him not to. I called True Green to complain and they promised a refund. A week later no refund. I will go out of my way to tell people not to sign up they are not a good company.

I signed up for TruGreen with high hopes but after the first two visits and then they not following up on filling in my holes as they stated they would during the check up visits I cancelled my service with them. But the real reason I’m writing this review is that since I have cancelled with them they have had three different employees contacting me within the week, some even faking that they didn’t know I was cancelled and kept asking me the same questions. I don’t like being harassed and I asked them to stop calling me during work hours as I had already explained my dissatisfaction with their service. I would never recommend them to anyone else.

Probably the worst company I’ve ever dealt with. Had a tech show up pulled up to my yard and threw a application of fertilizer sign in my yard never got out of his truck. Called corporate spoke to the general manager he gave me some bull crap spiel that the tech was unsure of why he had to. come back on a service call. Then told me they would show up that day to do what was promised the day before. Came left a sign in the front and back of my yard and never applied anything to the yard no receipt and nothing in the system. I then cancelled. They charge you for stuff they don’t do and try to make excuses. Also had 3 shrubs killed and because they were new the gm told me they never sprayed them. I’m pretty sure it’s not just luck 3 shrubs died less than 3 days after there application. Terrible company full of lying thieves.

Also had my service taken over from Noon Turfcare, and immediately noticed and complained about a decrease in the quality of service. After another poor visit, I called and told them to suspend service until further notice. A month later they hung a tag and bill on my door saying they had applied another service, without my consent. I refused to pay for a service I did not consent to and they turned my bill over to collection. Needless to say, have permanently canceled them.

I’ve read all the previous reviews and I have to say I disagree with them all. I have never had a better lawn since TruGreen started tending it over 5 years ago. Then today happened and it got even better… our lawn was serviced by Gregory McMahon. While he was working near our new generator he smelled gas. He promptly told my son who informed me when I got home. A call and visit from Eversource and the technician found two small leaks and repaired them. Thanks so much to Gregory… who knows what might have happened if he hadn’t told us.

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. No supervisor is ever available, even when the treat of cancelling service is made. Needless to say, I have cancelled my service.

No way will I ever go with TruGreen. Monday I asked for information from a service rep doing a lawn in the area and on Tuesday they sent 2 automated messages that they would be treating my lawn this week. I also spoke to the confirmation department who also called and I said clearly that I did not approve any service and do not want any now. Today, Thursday, I got another call saying they are coming tomorrow. I called back and said to cancel it because I didn’t approve it. The man on the phone said it was already approved. He finally cancelled it after going back and forth for a few minutes. I called back to make sure and confirm it is cancelled. They better not show up here tomorrow. NEVER WILL I GO WITH THEM!

STAY AWAY FROM TRUGREEN!!! In mid-May, we signed up for tree and bush service to prevent defoliating insects and they DIDN’T SHOW UP UNTIL JULY 31^st by which time all the leaves were destroyed. They then came to aerate and seed the lawn in the middle of August the day before a 5-day 90º heat wave INSTEAD of mid-Sept. when they should have! Ridiculous! Lawn, trees and bushes are worse then when they started! Never again!

Have had TruGreen for over 10 years my results have been subpar. It was always the excuse of lack of water. I installed an irrigation system. Now I have rust disease red thread and my whole lawn has a brown appearance I guess they are calling rust disease. My brother says don’t you have a lawn company come out? I said yes! They waited until July to spread Lime. They really don’t know much about lawn care as my friends that use small companies have beautiful green lawn with none of the diseases I have. Goodbuy TruGreen!

Dishonest. They came for an over-seeding. Said they spread almost 8 lbs of seed but we couldn’t see any seed anywhere. Checked all four sides of the house & lots of areas. Took pics & called. They came back. When we weren’t home & it looks like they spread seed just around the driveway thinking that would cover them & fool us. FIRED!
Oh & I agree. The operators always say they will call to inform you of when they are coming but they do not. Scam city.

Awful, awful, awful. Paid for the basic lawn service, aeration, overseeing and tree & shrub care. My lawn has never looked worse — crabgrass is terrific this year. They haven’t come when they were supposed to, don’t call back when I call customer service, and are now charging extra. Don’t seem to be able to coordinate among the different services that I’ve paid for as part of the account.

Terrible.
They always schedule to show up, then no one does.
My grandmother has had a problem with army worms and she called to tell them that they were back. They totally disregarded her and told her it was from the shrubs. When she asked to speak to the manager that she had spoken to last year, she was told that he died. Turns out he didn’t die, the employee lied; another employee told her that he quit last summer to go work for a limo company. What kind of company hires sick, twisted employees that would lie about someone dying?
Very unprofessional, would not recommend them to anyone. Hire a small business landscaper; they will be more reliable.

We have used them for a few years. This year, my lawn is nearly destroyed by grubs. I called to fire them, and they promised to be out the next day. Two weeks later? Crickets.

Stay Away folks.
Paid over $ 500 for basic service, They have only showed up once. When it’s too hot they won’t show up. which I can understand. but at least automatic reschedule it. Crabgrass is taking over yard. I’m going to have to treat for grubs because they haven’t shown up to do it. I’ll be asking for a refund of my money and talking to the BBB and the A.G. office this week. Wtf-Pissed off.

This company is awful. My lawn has never looked so bad. I called 10 days ago for weed control. They said someone would be out in 2 days. No one ever showed up. I called again, and they said «someone would be out tomorrow». No one ever showed up — not to mention the lady on the phone didn’t even apologize.
Today someone showed up over a week late and wrote on the report that no application was necessary. Nor did they bother to ring the door bell and talk to me about my concerns — they just left a note and ran off.
I called and cancelled my account. I told them why — but no one even called me from management to try and keep my business.
They obviously don’t care. Save yourself some aggravation and use a different company.

this is the worst company ever !!! it’s not that they do a bad job, they just don’t ever stop calling !! they promised they would stop, it is an unending cycle. do not use this company, they will haunt you forever. i dont owe them a dime, but once you use them, they will call you forever until you agree to keep using their service!
shame on you tru green… your a tru pain in the butt !!
