Oh man, what’s a girl gotta do for a pelvic exam around here?! I actually never saw a doctor. Every time I had a appointment it was canceled. After the third time that I had to change providers because doctors were leaving for other practices I was told I would need to go somewhere else. Well…alright then! I’ve never been stood up before but I think it would feel like a visit to this office.

I had been to 2 different gynecologists in Nashville before finally finding this gem. I have a lot of medical knowledge just due to things that I have been through, so I know when a doctor is not being truthful or helping me as much as they can. I’ve suffered severe pains/other Gyn issues for over 3 years and no doctor would take me seriously«because I’m too young for that». Well I know my body and know when something isn’t right. In comes doctor May Thomassee! She is my superhero! Did one exam and said she suspected severe endometriosis and will do minimally invasive surgery in 2 weeks. Everyone in this practice seems very caring and confident! Without her, I would probably NEVER be able to have children. She is a life saver and I am so thankful she is taking me and my health and fertility seriously. Also, nurse Lisa Milam is extremely helpful as well! Honestly, going here is the best choice you can make :)

Dr. John Lucas treated me for IVF. He has a terrible bedside manner. For instance, after canceling an egg retrieval cycle mid egg growth(I cannot tell you how painful it is when, the half developed eggs turn into cysts and pop), he told me in front of two med students on Valentine’s Day, that my eggs were too old and I would never be able to have biological children. My husband was not able to attend so i felt publicly humiliated. He also does not keep up on the current literature in reproductive endocrinology. As a scholar myself, I was better informed than he was. After Valentine’s Day, I started interviewing new IVF specialists until I found one who was up to date on the research. Thanks to my new doctor, I have two beautiful, smart, and healthy 5 year olds.

I am currently undergoing treatment for secondary infertility with this office. I see Dr Lucas and he has an excellent bedside manner and is very experienced. This Dr. does not beat around the bush. He tells you straight what your options are and what steps he thinks you should take, but then asks you what you want to do and allows you to do things at your own pace. I had taken Clomid in the past a couple of rounds of it, and had horrible ovarian cysts and hyper stimulation as a result and was not able to continue it. He prescribed me Femora which is not your typical fertility drug and is actually an off label medication for ovulation induction but has worked well for me so far without any bad side effects and I have ovulated every month on it. It didn’t work after 4 months of using it so we moved onto IUI. I did my first round yesterday and I was terribly nervous about the procedure and Dr. Lucus was extremely professional and compassionate and talked me though the IUI which was a breeze.(I had heard they could be uncomfortable). I did not feel pain at all and procedure was easy and 0 pain.(I was all stressed out for nothing!). I cannot say enough to compliment this medical professional and his team because in today’s fast paced world doctors sometimes are in such a hurry they forget to be compassionate. I am going back in a week to get my progesterone level checked which he monitors closely. Then hopefully a bun will be in the oven in two weeks. This doctor thinks outside the box so I am hopeful. All other doctors I have seen have only offered Clomid which didn’t work well for me at all.
