First of all, I try to buy local as much as possible. My family has been loyal to Yarrow Acres since we moved here several years ago. I love the inventory (that’s what the 3 stars are for) but the staff is very hesitant to help. They also don’t seem to know about the plants they carry. The last plant I bought there I had to look up myself to know how to care for it.
Today I came in (with my sons) to purchase several gifts among them some gifts for my sons’ teachers. Which I cautiously let them pick out. one was a terrarium — (which this store appears to specialize in) — the store was not busy and I needed some assistance putting one together. The staff is not very friendly and a bit condescending. I’ve noticed on more than one occasion (thus the impetus for this review!)
As we were leaving with our bags, it started to pour down. Since I was parked directly behind the store, I asked if we could use the back entry (which they let me use to load purchases in my car on another occasion). They said it was locked. No «sorry» or «can we help» … It was weird. And left me wishing I hadn’t spent so much money at Yarrow Acres. By the time I made it to my car I was soaked (as was my 2 kids.) The gifts needed to be rewrapped.
I am sad. Because I really want to love this store. It just seems to be missing the «customer service» part. I’ve only written one other review– so I don’t take this lightly.

This is seriously the most adorable gardening & accessories store that I’ve ever been too. If I lived nearby I would stock up on all the cute items… and then, of course, kill any plants that I bought. My aspirations of gardening are always better than my execution.
Next time, I’ll come in without flight looming in my future.

Amazing! If you enjoy trendy antique, shabby chique, trendy gardening accessories, homemade pumpkin candles, concentrate herbal oils, I or handmade soap this is the place for you! Male or Female, this is a very enjoyable store! I am a huge fan of candles. Especially in the fall season. Yarrow sells a nice assortment of homemade candles that They are very responsibly priced.
I have made a few trips to this store to pick up candle refills because we burn right through them in my house! I also had my older sisters birthday this past week and bought her some peppermint oil (which is a wonderful alternative to cure a headache, stomach ache, or muscle pain, or just to relax before bed… Honestly peppermint is one of natures healing plants. Do you think 800 years ago if someone had a headache they would go to the medicine cabinet for some Advil? NO! They would go straight for the herbs! If you are not buying and using concentrate peppermint oil for your daily needs, then you need to get on that! You are really missing out on a great thing!). I also picked up a wonderful, large jar pumpkin candle for her! She was very happy with her gift!
Yarrow Acres is a must! Check this place out! They even sell live olive trees!!!

Yarrow Acres could, I guess, be categorized as a garden supply store for people with small fancy gardens, and not much experience The most practical thing I saw were the zinc ID tags for your garden. But even then, if you plant carrots, and when they sprout you can’t identify them as carrots, well then you have problems.
Interestingly, they also have a decent selection of artificial flowers. I guess that is in case the ones you plant don’t grow.

Yarrow Acres is a small gardening and home décor store. They have a few plants and some indoor gardening supplies, but mostly they have home décor items. They also carry a couple arrays of beauty products and scented candles.
