This place is great for us locals, the best coffee drinks in town and the owners are really dedicated to healthy and innovative food – produce comes from organic farmers’ markets and they make burgers from local grass-fed beef. New baked goods appear about every day. A good place to hang out and meet people on their way up the mountain.

As mentioned by others, I so wanted this place to be great. Tried it a couple times now, the coffee is bitter with an aluminum taste that stays in your mouth. The shop is cute but it could be so much more.

And… we decided to try it again even though the first time was awful. It’s such a cute place with such a funky vibe and eclectic nick knacks, I really want to love it… but the two vanilla lattes I have had are just horrible. I mean, leave a bad taste in your mouth, horrible. I don’t know if it’s the espresso they use or the way it’s made, but wow it’s just bad. And I can’t say the owner is all that welcoming either. It’s too bad, it could be a really great place. The two stars is not for friendly service or the latte, it’s solely for the cute shop.

I would give this review a 5 if the woman behind the counter didn’t act like I was disturbing her by purchasing a product as well as coffee. Word of advice if you don’t want to work with the public and make your business a success, quit

We woke up Sunday morning and decided to head up to Frazier Park so the kids could play around in the snow. We decided to get something to eat on the way and ended up getting off of the main road and found this cozy little spot. An artsy and quaint owner-operated spot with an organic slant, what’s not to like? They also serve micro brew on tap. Be prepared because the menu selection is very limited, they basically had french toast, breakfast burritos, and oatmeal to choose from as well as an assortment of pastries. We ordered some coffee, hot chocolate, pastries and a breakfast burrito. The coffee was better that I expected as were the pastries. My kids and wife enjoyed the hot chocolate, it was made with real milk. The breakfast burrito was a little bland, but nothing a little bit of Tapatio couldn’t help out. All this being said it seems as if the person at the counter could have been a little friendlier. I simple good«good morning» would have gone a long way to making us feel welcome as opposed to making us feel as if we were bothering her. I’m not sure if she had a problem with me, my facial hair or if it was simply an «all-you-flatlanders-coming-up-here-to-see-snow-and-causing-soo-much-traffic» attitude. The kid that brought our food was nice though. To sum it up, this place very artsy and quaint and a better alternative to the Jack in The Box down the road. They also have a clean bathroom.

Great place to stop in Frazier Park. This is heavily popular with the locals… which should tell you everything. Plenty of seating indoors, plus a small patio outside. Great coffee and pastries. Organic food available. I had a burger(and I’m told its the only«grass fed» burger available in town) that was amazing. Great menu that includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Has a little more variety than the usual mountain town place by including things like a Cubano sandwich. If you like family owned cafes… stop here, you won’t regret it!

Very good, clean tasting coffee and one hell of a good breakfast burrito. And a solid yummy looking menu with items served all day. This owner/operated café is everything you’d hope it to be. Funky-cool local art for sale, small grocery items and even BEER on tap! Anytime I swing through this lil town. I’m stopping in. Thanks for the wonderful experience Coffee Cantina!

I stop here almost everyday for my Carmel freeze.(Frappé). The coffee here is better than Starbucks! And they have a convenient drive thru window.

This place changed owners yet again and is back to the yummy and delicious organic goodness that have given it such a positive overall rating here. They are even selling organic produce again — for a reasonable price — which is a great service to our little community! BIG plus, they open for drive-thru coffee/espresso @ 5am! The new owners are a husband and wife team, with occasional support from their son. The wife does most of the cooking and makes some VERY yummy Gluten-Free muffins I’ve tried 3 kinds so far and I’m a fan of them all. And the Curry Chicken soup she makes is delicious. The husband is mostly up front and is great at customer service. The wife ½ of the team — who is a brilliant cook IMBO — is VERY shy and if you have her as your cashier, might occur to new folks as less than customer friendly. Please know that it’s just her being shy, she’s quite nice and cooks some really terrific food. They are also once again displaying local art in the cantina which is lovely :-)

Visited here in May 2014, and HAD to update my previous 5-star review from early 2012. I was devastated by the changes made to the Coffee Cantina. They no longer offer tasty organic lunch options and even the employees seem defeated by the minuscule menu. Obviously there is new management, as the décor is horribly lacking. I drove all the way from Bakersfield to have lunch here with my 2.5-year-old, and was sorely disappointed. I walked out without even ordering anything.

Tucked away treasure! Read about it on Unilocal as we were driving through and wanted to try something besides Mexican in the middle of the day! About 5 minutes off the highway. New owners and new menu. It is no longer organic but it IS fresh and delicious. Owners were the ones making and serving our sandwiches. Sandwiches were limited but the owner asked if I would like a balsamic glaze on my veggie — which made it really delicious. My husband had turkey avocado and cheese. Coffee was strong and fresh and a bottomless cup. Try for a quick sandwich !

We were here in July 2013, for Fourth of July weekend. To get espresso drinks, you can either drive all the way out to the Central Valley, or all the way back to Castaic, or come here. I’d much rather be here than at a Starbucks. Inside, funky and casual(I stole that from someone else’s review) is about right. Very cheerful, pleasant, outgoing people. Very local – I would say there’s a blurry line between staff and customer; everyone seemed to know everyone, and I chatted with both. Talked about condors and cave art. Got coffees here in the a.m., then came back midday for a terrific lunch that felt as if it was all local organic veggies.(I’m not promising it was, but that was the feeling.) The real high point for me was sitting around out in the patio next to the place and enjoying our food al fresco, watching a kid(I believe the son of the owners) playing with a semi-tame baby bird that kept hopping around, curious, jumping up on his hand and shoulder, nibbling at seeds. We had a lovely visit and would love to come back.

As I have only been here twice and will be back every time I am around, I am writing this so that they get a clue. I can NOT remember a time when I have walked into a restaurant and NOT been greeted by at least one if not each and all employees I come across. And many times each person asks if I have been helped yet. NOTHERE! Each of the two times, my friend(who knows them) and I walk in and … they look at us walk in and up to the counter DIRECTLY in front of the cash register and opening to the kitchen and they look at us and say NOTHING and go back to work. I look at them and they look up again and another walks to the front and still no one says a thing to us. We talk for 20 minutes and I am getting very low on blood sugar much like a previous writer. In fact, the owner has a short chat with my friend and I and still he does not ask if we have been helped yet. Unbelievable! I ask the lady in the kitchen window if they have food. They all of sudden apologize and say they thought the other person was helping us. This is silly, because the lady would have know if she started working on our order or not. There was only ONE other group in the café and they were eating. I sure hope they get some basic restaurant worker training soon. They have the BESTFOOD and the BESTCOFFEE! There is no other place in 30 miles from here to go to. Please just serve us as we walk in. That is all I ask for. It would not take much to get 5 stars from me.

Veggie breakfast burritos and French toast… yumtastic! Obvious to me when I look around in here that these people care about what they do. Even more obvious when I talk to them and most obvious when I taste the food!!! I will always stop here when taking I-5 over the pass. I recommend you do the same, I cannot imagine anyone regretting the short 2 mile drive from the highway. :)

Coffee Cantina gets an extra star just for keeping me out of Denny’s at the Flying J truck stop on I5! We stayed the night at the Motel 6(yuck) down the road and after a restless nights’ sleep, we got out quickly and needed some coffee and an easy bite to eat. The gang wanted to walk over to Denny’s next door, but since I spent the night before doing all the driving, I said, «NOWAY! I just stayed at a crappy motel, I’m not drinking crappy coffee and eating crappy food this morning.» Out comes iPhone, Unilocal to the rescue! I found Coffee Cantina — a few miles away from the freeway located in the little village of Frazier Park. It’s a funky joint that also serves beer and wine. The coffee was hot and delicious. We ordered some small plate egg dishes and an incredible blueberry scone. The folks who worked there were friendly and I liked the local charm of the place. I’d definitely go back to Coffee Cantina again and tell all my travelling pals to stop by. While it’s not the most amazing coffee joint in the universe, given the nearby choices and the all-around coolness of the place, I’d give it a «highly recommend.»

I came here a few weeks ago for coffee while my car was getting worked on at FAS Automotive Repair off the freeway(off of Frazier Mountain Park Rd. as I think it’s called). Coffee Cantina is a couple miles in from the freeway up a hill. Frazier Park is a nice, calm and quiet little town with hardly anything going on. There’s a small, short strip about ½ a mile long with small shops. Driving through might cause you to think that you walked into a time machine, and came out in 1951, not 2011 — 60 years later. They have good, fresh coffee, and it’s one of the first shops on the strip — on the right side off of the main road. I recommend you come here for coffee if you don’t want to get stuck in the traffic somewhere in LA. Coming out of LA, this is a great place to breathe. The air is fresh and crisp, but sometimes windy, so watch out for that. There are also several hiking trails closeby.
