Mountain View Market

This place’s deli is fantastic and gets 5 stars!!! The western wrap, chicken caesar wrap, all of them are DELICIOUS!!!
The store itself has prices that are just a tad too high – so 4 stars.
Other than that, it’s my go to place when I’ve forgotten that ONE thing from the regular grocery, or when I need something quick to eat.

I dont write a lot of reviews, and — lets be honest– not a whole bunch to usually write about on the hill. But i had– without a doubt– the BEST wrap i have ever had at this place on Friday. The tri-​tip BBQ wrap was amazing! the meat was tender, with a little crispiness to it– cooked perfectly. the veggies were fresh and crisp, and the bbq sauce perfectly tangy. i added jalapenos to mine– which made it just that much better. i spoke to the cook afterwards to compliment her, and she was saying her husband wanted to add pickles and bacon– i told her not to– the most perfect wrap ever! you have got to try it!!! my friend had the pastrami which looked amazing too– and he loved it

Ray runs a great little market here. Tasty food from the grill, and great prices in the market (Especially since it’s located in the mountains where most other stores raise the prices… They try to keep prices down to what they are in the flatlands/​valleys. Always nice to see Ray and the rest of the employees… He will help you with special orders if you need something, and while he can’t always get them, he does his best. Most everything I’ve ever asked for he was able to find, bring up, and sell at reasonable prices, not gouged like so many other stores do. If you come up for a visit to the mountains and need some food supplies or other items, I recommend you stop here. Try their classic burger and fries when you do.

The best turkey melt ever! We have stopped here for 4 years in a row on our annual motorcycle trip. I love the OWNER, he is so wonderful to all his customers. What hasn’t been said… great beer selection, fresh vegy’s, clean bathrooms. Keeps us coming back and raving about the service & food.

Where do I start when I’m gushing about the Mountain View Mart & Deli?
Should I talk about the fact that they have a WALK-​IN BEER COOLER??? Yes, it’s true! HUGE selections of beers, lambics, wine-​coolers, hard ciders, and those drinks like Mike’s Hard Lemonade and Smirnoff Ice, in all sizes, types, and packages.
Maybe we should start with the fact that they keep the single cleanest «quick-​stop bathroom» on the planet.
Or perhaps I should start by mentioning the fact that they have a deli with MADE-​TO-​ORDER sandwiches, burgers, and more. MENU PHOTO IS POSTED! All sorts of things from Chicken Strips and Breakfast Croissants to Teriyaki Bowls, Soups, and Burritos. No matter how I start this review, it won’t do this place justice. Mountain View Mart & Deli is a sight for sore campers’ eyes. For anyone making the long-​haul through Frazier Park, this spot is a GODSEND.
* Fresh produce!!! YES! Wait until you’re here to buy that fresh produce for your cooler. It’ll be fresher and you’ll be throwing some coin at the «local guys.» That’s just win-​win. Lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and everything ya need.
* More canned goods than I’ve ever seen. Soups, meats, beans, tamales, Vienna sausages, potatoes, veggies, chilis, stews, and more.
* They have a hot sandwich called the «Travis,» with Pepper Turkey, Cheese, Bacon, Avocado, on Grilled Sourdough!!! Whoo hoo!
* Cathy, who works the deli counter from time to time, is totally sweet and always makes me a MEAN sandwich. (The French Dip and BBQ Beef or Turkey Sandwiches are particularly awesome)
* HUGE drink selection, in addition to the walk-​in cooler. Sodas, Mixers, Hydration beverages, Energy drinks, Wine, and Beer… EVERYTHING under the sun. Both refrigerated and not.
* They have bags of ice, to refresh your camping coolers, at reasonable prices. This is always nice to have within an hour of your campsite.
* Various goods like FIRST-​AID products, matches & lighters, novelty alcoholic shots (like Buttery Nipples), personal hygiene products (soaps, shampoos, feminine hygiene, etc.), cleaners, and pet food.
* Other goods — Breads (that includes buns), noodles, cornstarch, soup mixes, nuts, gum, trail mixes, candies, ice cream, etc.
I cannot say enough about this little place. So, I decided to list it’s awesome features instead of rambling for hours on end. If you’re headed through this area, be it camping, sightseeing, or visiting that weird Uncle that nobody in the family really likes, catch some fresh air and a bite to eat at Mountain View Mart & Deli. Great deals, clean premises, and friendly staff. It simply doesn’t get any better than this.

Super yummy custom made sandwiches and burgers! Hefty portions! Love the potato salad! They also have a nice fruit and veggie fridge with a nice variety… Oh… try the Chicken Tortilla Soup… perfect for a cold or brisk day!

I stopped in here just for a snack on my way up to the McGill Campground in the Los Padres National Forest. I’m so sorry that didn’t take pictures of my food from their grill line because it was incredible. Onion rings the size of my hands for about $ 2 and my buddy ordered chicken fingers that came with so many French fries for about $ 5.
The best part of this store is the greasy spoon grill inside the market, but don’t be surprised if you grab some beer or other alcoholic treat from their amazing selection. This place really has everything you need food & drink wise before you head up the mountain.
No wonder all the locals were in & out while we were there. Next time I go camping up there, I’m just bringing my tent & cooler & buying all my vittels here. I’d even skip buying food for the campsite all together & take my meals from the griddle inside. It’s really that good.
I can’t wait to go back!

Great beer selection! If you like craft brews, this is the best place to go on the mountain. The chicken wrap is really good. Also they have some of the best burgers and sandwiches on the mountain.

great selection of sandwiches made to order, and they are delicious! lots of grocery items, and the freshest looking produce… lots of pop and beer selections as well… make sure to stop in and check this place out when you are up for the day, and grab lunch while you’re at it… can’t wait for my next trip up!
