Not all Cracker Barrel’s are the same is so true! Having been to a bunch(I am a big fan), this one is NOT one of the better ones. They are not good at managing crowds or sitting large parties. Come on — it is expected that lunch and dinner, especially on weekends is a mob scene at these joints. However, most Cracker Barrel’s are excellent at managing the crowds. Not this place. Coordinating, so that two tables can be pushed together was too difficult for this place. The last time we were here, they ran out of kids menus and crayons. Doesn’t seem like a big deal, but it really is for many families. The food is just well prepared here either. We had green beans that they doused in so much pepper they were not edible. The chicken was burned on one side(come on no one is fooled by putting that side down on the plate). Management? Not sure. But will avoid this one for a while.

Not all Cracker Barrels are the same. Some aren’t all they’re cracked up to be while others are a barrel of fun.(That sounded much better in my head.) This one, in Fredrick, MD, appears to be one of the good ones! My 7-year-old daughter and I had just finished a greling day at «Adventure Park USA» and were looking for a good dinner before heading home. We found that here. She really enjoyed her kid’s meal of fried shrimp and french fries. I thought the Campfire Beef was amazing.(And not just amazing for a Cracker Barrel, either.) For desert she had a kid’s sunday and liked that too. If there was any complaint from this meal, it was that my Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola® Cake was just a bit too chocolate-y.(Like that should be the biggest problem I’ll ever face.) From my one experience, this is a Cracker Barrel worth visiting.

Can we say, SALTY!!! OMG! I’ve not had Cracker Barrel since last years in Chesapeake and was so looking forward to this meal. Yuck! To add insult to injury, I told my waitress who by the way assumed I was taking a doggie bag because I left so much on the plate, and she replied; «sorry» as she lay the check on the table. I shook it off and counted it to her age and left her a nice tip anyway. Guess I have to go further south to get better food.

Stopped by on a Friday evening to grab dinner with our small group of 4. Place was already packed by 5:30PM, super busy! But I forgot how spacious the place was; plenty of tables! Despite how busy they were, our server was attentive and was always around whenever we needed him. There was a great deal on select dinner options so some of us decided to order from that list. I ordered the chopped steak with mushrooms & onions and asked for steamed broccoli and turnip greens as my side. Our table also ordered the pacific salmon patties, grilled trout, and a breakfast platter. Our platters came with corn bread and biscuits. Corn bread wasn’t that great, no flavor and it was hard. But the biscuits are always worth it especially if you ask for apple butter on the side :). Food was honestly average, I would never crave Cracker Barrel.

I’ve never experienced a Cracker Barrel until I moved here from Seattle. Apparently I’ve been missing out. The pricing isn’t too shabby, everything on the menu seems to be pretty reasonable in my opinion. I always order their French toast and I have yet to be dissatisfied. They nail it everytime. As far as the service goes, they’re very quick and attentive. We’ve never had to wait long for our food and the waitresses are always so friendly.

I’m a big fan of Cracker Barrel, but I probably won’t go back to this specific location. My expectations are NOT high at all when I go to Cracker Barrel. 90% of the time, I just want to get some pancakes with crispy edges, real maple syrup, and endless coffee. This last time they burned my pancakes and my sausage, and put these both burnt side down on the plate so I might not notice. I typically do not send food back to the kitchen because I’m too scared of any additional«ingredients» that might come back with my meal… so I just sucked it up. Blech.

The staff keeps offering free biscuits because it’s been 40 minutes for oatmeal! «They’re too cheap to pay for enough cooks. But they’re are lots of servers to get the tables filled» says the servers while cleaning tables… Maybe give this Cracker Barrel location a miss… Unless you enjoy the free biscuits!

Usually I love this specific Cracker Barrel the Asian hostess that takes the names seems to have a problem seating people. I have a party of 6 and want to put my name on the list but she ask me if my party is here. So when my party gets here we still have to wait 20 more minutes and she keeps asking me if my party is here? Not sure what her problem is. What does it matter if we still have to wait 20 minutes and if I told you once why do you keep asking?

Simply put. I love Cracker Barrel. Period. If I see one, I will stop there. Just so happens this one is in between mother’s house and mine. So, we come here often. A great location. Not ever crowded when we come. The food is always great. We’ll be back!

Much like any other Cracker Barrel I’ve been to. It took a while to get seated since we had a larger party. The store is generic so we had a place to wander around while we waited. We were seated in about 20 minutes for a party of 6. We ordered, I had pancakes, eggs, bacon, and I got free hashbrowns(yay). Food was pretty good and service was pretty quick. Overall a good cracker barrel.

Cracker Barrel was an old standby for my father(before he died) and anyone over retirement age. I don’t know if it was the friendly female food servers or the fried foods served at reasonable prices along with the little touches like«you can have both a biscuit and a corn muffin if you can’t decide.» Comfort food with double a helping of comfort. However, the other day when I finally gave into my wife’s pleading to pay CB another visit, we stopped by the Frederick outlet, fought our way through the gift shop, and were seated. I was at first very impressed with our food server. He was smooth and very friendly, and told me that he never had to be trained. He just slid into the job from his bartender hitch. This young Black man told me that his father was a cook in the kitchen. I ordered the barbeque ribs, my wife a catfish selection. Even with a packed restaurant, the food arrived before I was able to gulp down half my corn muffin smothered with butter. I couldn’t believe such fast service. Then, after the food server left, my wife wondered if the fried fish was really CATFISH. Then I looked down and realized there was something wrong with the $ 12.99 McRib special. It looked like one of those plastic models of a meal in a Chinese restaurant. The sauce was congealed on top. When i cut into it, the rib meat was merely warm, not hot, to the touch. I imagined it had been sitting under a light waiting for a pickup. But I had just ordered it!!! My wife is not a complainer, and ate the breaded mystery fish without a word. I thought about complaining to the server about the congealed ribs, but it was so busy, I imagined waiting a while for it to be heated up. I asked the server for some BBQ sauce, hoping it would heat it up. I had to ask twice. He apologized both times, then ran off to deliver some pancakes or something. Once delivered, the sauce was almost cold, so I just brought the whole mess home and nuked it for lunch the next day. It was delicious. I think I would go back again. But I would have to realize that on any one day it might be a disaster. Next time I’ll complain on the spot and get some immediate satisfaction from the food server. Maybe.

Always crowded. Love the country ambience. The food was delish. I love coming to this location. Chicken fried chicken was fried to perfection. And the eggs were scrambled just the way I like them. The grits were perfect. Not too runny and not too thick. The fried apples did not taste fried, however they were delectable. The biscuits were on point as always.

We went here for breakfast the other day we had a great waitress and the food was good as always. The only issue I had was I ordered coffee and I never do. The coffee was awful me and another gentleman was talking about it as we left.

My family always comes here when we are in the area. Weekends are just not a good idea to come here. Coming in it looks like grandmas attic. A lot of old nostalgia stuff. Waiting time was 5 – 10 minutes no big deal. Hostess is nice. That’s where the buck stops. Our waitress was so forgetful. I ordered a simple meal with eggs, hash browns, grits, Apple something, bacon and some sausage and biscuits and gravy. My child got a pancake meal. Pancakes were good. I give them props on that. My grits and gravy were cold to touch. My sausage if that’s what you called it remind of the circle tins you use to wax leather shoes. It was undercooked I had to barf it out. Never did our waitress checked on us. I had to tell her 3x for refills. 3x for butter and about my under cooked sausage. After I got my new sausage, I gave up. It was just awful! The service was not good. The food was okay maybe a step up from Bob Evans or iHop. I wouldn’t make a special trip to come here.

Good food. Great service. I think little country side restaurants always have the best service, well, unless you have a little raging server, then GTFO of there. When you enter, there is a store upfront. You can do a little shopping before having your meal. They have everything. From clothes, to kitchen ware, to syrups to household interior and exterior items. To get to the restaurant you have to walk all the way to the back then make a left. The hostess is there behind the stand waiting for you, not in a creepy way of course. Anyways, when you enter the restaurant you just get the country feel. The décor is very cute and very much country. On each table there are play pegs you can play with and entertain yourself while waiting for the server and the food. For the food: I had rainbow trout and it was delish. It was cooked perfectly and seasoned perfectly. The dish came with 3 veggie dish — they had a wide selection of veggies, but for the certain dish I got, you were to choose three. The three veggies I had were: 1) salad — not too fresh so I didn’t finish it, 2) dumplins — yes dumplins, not dumplings; also it wasn’t a veggie, it was dough and starch, so not sure why it was one of the options, 3) steamed broccoli — it was steamed just right, got that crunch in there! Overall the meal was yummy. Service was spot on, expect for the server giving us the bill too early. I know they always say, «no rush, take your time», but I think it is kind of meh to leave the bill that early. We weren’t even done with our plates, we could have wanted dessert, who knows! Overall service was great. The server kept checking up on us. She was on point with drinks. She — Tiffany — was great. Also the checkout staff was very lovely. She got me to buy some merchandise -.- sneaky sneaky. Just and FYI, you have to walk back out to the store to pay for your meal. Once the server gives you the bill, go to the store checkout and that’s where you pay.

Simple, country food. Great prices. Enjoy the rocking chairs outside and the general store inside. Play the classic peg game as you wait for your food to come out.

Came here for a father’s day brunch with family. I have gone here on and off and still quality service and food. It was PACKED today and we had a party of eight but it didn’t take that long to get seated. I had the 8oz seared sirloin with cabbage and cottage cheese(they have some of the best around) with a biscuit. I also had orange juice with my meal which was okay. The greeting hostess, cashier, our actual server, and manager really great, polite and friendly. I just have one thing to say about the person that took our family to our table, I hope he reads this. Listen you little bitch Austin, instead of standing there like a moron with your mouth a gape as you see someone struggle in a wheelchair to get through while her family try to move the chair for her, DOSOMETHINGANDNOTBE A WASTEOFOXYGEN!!! Seriously you’re a asshat and should think about quitting your job. I wasn’t shocked your co-workers were not surprised though concerned about your lack of pride in your work. My venting is done. He didn’t ruin our dining experience but I noticed he was causing similar issues for other patrons.

Being from California, I had never been to a Cracker Barrel, I had heard how amazing they were, and when I got the chance to go to one, I went. Twice. Very homey southern country style atmosphere, great menu, huge portions, great price, the grits weren’t what I was expecting, very thin, but then again, I am from California so perhaps I am not the best judge of grits. Country Fried Steak was incredible, biscuits were great, fluffy and good, gravy was a little smokey, which was great-different but great. The general store in the front of the restaurant is quaint, the perfect mix of capitalism and food. I’m a fan.
