I came back from my second check up in the past two years. Dr. Jan was extremely helpful in answering my questions about my astigmatism and super caring and gentle. I also noticed his office upgraded to state of the art technology. My old optometrist never had the digital machines that Dr. Jan uses. Cool stuff.

My son and I went for routine eye exams and really like dr. Jan and staff. Fast service, and they worked really well with my son who is only ten. Worked hard to figure out if he really needed glasses. Very pleased!

I am pleasantly surprised by this establishment. The doctor is extremely honest and helpful. I came by because something was bothering my eye, but I didn’t think I needed a complete eye exam. However, this doctor was more than willing to look at it even without a reservation! Plus, he was quick, yet thorough and completed the checkup in less than 15 minutes. The BEST PART was… he didn’t even charge me! What a steal! I will definitely come back as a paying customer next time.

Practice is conveniently located within the Frederick Costco, which I love. Dr. Jan clearly prioritizes customer service, as he saw me during his lunch break and loaded me up with tons of sample contacts and accessories.

Was easy to schedule an appointment and did not have to wait long for the doctor. His front desk staff is pleasant and Dr. Jan is very professional. He took the time to answer my questions and did not make me feel rushed. He also did not pressure me to buy anything from him but gave me all my options so I could make an informed decision. I had gone to a couple other OD for second opinions but felt like they didn’t take time to listen to my issue or they were very aggressive with trying to sell their products. I felt like Dr. Jan made me feel very comfortable and I would highly recommend him for any of your vision care needs!

I stopped by the Frederick Costco while running some errands yesterday. I’ve been meaning to get my eye prescription updated since I’ve been noticing I can’t see certain things quite as sharply (mostly the countdown on the crosswalk signs while driving).
I stopped in before shopping to see if I could get an appointment and was able to see Dr. Jan right away! Dr. Jan was friendly and professional the whole time and addressed all of my concerns about my vision. In the end he told me I was in between my current prescription and the next so I could go either way but since I’ve been noticing that my vision had worsened I could move to the next prescription.
This was a great first visit and I will definitely be back even though this location is a bit of a hike for me. Highly recommend Dr. Jan!

I came to Costco to pick up some groceries and noticed there was a new eye doctor in the Frederick location. I walked in and was able to be seen immediately! Surprisingly they took my vision insurance (VSP) and got a new glasses and contact lens prescription in 20 minutes.
It was so convenient and Dr Jan was very thorough in his questions. The receptionist did some pretesting with the dreaded air puff and they also took a picture of my retina. So cool!
They told me to go to the optical which is right outside the office and picked out frames and paid so much less than MyEyeDr. I should’ve gotten my eyes checked here sooner. I’ll definitely be back next year!

Only five years out of optometry school, I have rarely seen such a smug, know it all attitude in a young optometrist. Completely misdiagnosed my contact lens prescription and was only concerned about getting paid more money rather than correcting the problem on my return visit. Please do yourself a favor and find yourself a more experienced, mature optometrist that cares more about you reading the bottom of the eye chart instead of the bottom line of his bank account.

I had a great experience with Dr. Jan. I went in to update my prescription for my contact lenses, and the care from start to finish was excellent. He took the time to answer my questions and was very thorough in making sure I got the right lens at the right fit + price. I’ll definitely be going back to see Dr. Jan!

I currently live in Germantown/​Clarksburg area so the Frederick Costco is not too far for me. A close friend of mine told me the OD there was a very nice gentlemen and took real good care of their patients.
I have visited Dr. Jan twice already and both times was a great experience and had me in and out in no time. The appointment started on time and I was out of there within 15 minutes. Dr. Jan also gives out great recommendations for contact lenses and provides samples. I don’t think you normally get 2 weeks worth of samples but I think he was feeling generous that day.
I was having issues with my contact lenses, because my eyes were very sensitive and just not enough oxygen getting in or something. I told Dr. Jan my problem and asked why my eyes are always blood shot and the first pair of contacts he suggested worked and solved all my problems.
My next check up I have would be next Spring and I will most definitely pay Dr. Jan a visit again.

Right from the moment I stepped into his office, Dr. Jan was nothing but helpful and courteous. He took the time to explain to me what he was doing and answered all of my questions clearly. He made sure that I understood exactly what was wrong with my eyes and the best way to fix my problem. I ended up needing to get prescription contact lenses and Dr. Jan was very helpful in explaining to me the different options that I had. He was not forceful or pushy but instead gave me his suggestions and allowed me to make the choice for myself.
I’ve been to a lot of different ODs and Dr. Jan is definitely at the top of my list, hands down. Dr. Jan is both knowledgeable in what he does and personally invested in helping all of his patients.
