Normally, I wouldn’t review a gas station, but what the hell, I have free time, and this place fracked my weasel. I love gas as much as the next driver, but what I don’t like is when a discount gas station brand such as Sunoco tries to charge me Exxon prices for gas. While I understand that gas stations make their money on concessions and that gs is a supply and demand situation, driving 2 miles in any other direction(Exxon, Sheetz, High’s) charges far less per gallon per day than this place does. 8¢ a gallon more than the Sheetz down the road(who sells Sunoco gas) is just gouging!

When driving from D.C. to Harrisburg, this is my gas station of choice for filling up my car. It is easy to find, has a great snack shop, and reasonable gas prices. I admit, my former neighbor owns it, but on its own merit, it serves me well for my needs. My neighbor is a hard worker and businessman and enjoys talking with his customers.

Sunday afternoon as I was coming down the home stretch on my journey home from King of Prussia, PA down U.S. 15 Southbound to Haymarket, VA — I needed to stop and refuel — so I hit this Sunoco for gas. While I was gassing up, I snapped two photos — one of the convenience store — and one shot of the Sunoco sign. A minute later, a short little man of middle eastern descent came stalking out of the convenience store and loudly started questioning and berating me for taking photos and telling me it is not allowed and is illegal. He wanted to know why I was taking photos — I replied that I take photos of everywhere I go. He did not like that. He then proceeded to tell me to hand over the film in my camera. I simply smiled and replied: «There is no film in my camera.» Then he stalked off muttering and saying things I could not understand. I was mildy amused that he did not know what medium digital cameras use to store images. But even if he did know, he was not getting to touch my camera! I had planned on going inside the convenience store for a bottle of water and a snack. but I decided to take my business elsewhere after my interaction with Mr. Crabby. And for the record, I took the photos to include in my Unilocal review of the business. I thought for a moment that I would refrain from posting them with the review — but then decided it’s not really a big deal — since when were Sunoco gas stations Top Secret operations? 4 stars for the location and convenience, but reduced to 1 star for Mr. Crabby’s curmudgeonly performance.
