YUMMY!!! This food hit the spot, after a long time of saying I was going to get it, I finally did. I got the plantains, whole chicken, rice and yuca. The Chicken is the best I’ve ever had and the sauce sooo good! Yuca and sides were on point, sooo delicious! I’m a fan of peruvian chicken, this place has got to the best I’ve tried and NO MSG. I’m going to have to stop by and pick some up for dinner again!

This place is so so good. I live in Middletown. My family and I go once a week. They cook everything w charcoal and it is fresh and delicious! Just try it you will not b disappointed!

Got the whole chicken combo with 3 large sides, to take home. Chicken was overcooked, tasted like it had been sitting in the warmer for too long. Black beans and rice was bland. I did not try the fried plantains, but one of two kids liked them. The roasted potatoes were very good, well seasoned and slightly crunchy with a soft center.

I can’t say enough good things about this place.
And the fact that I’ve been dying for Peruvian chicken, this specific Peruvian chicken, confirms that it’s the best in town from my perspective.
I love that the owner knows his returning customers, that the restaurant is spotless whenever I’m in there and that its decorated for Halloween.
Support local. Eat good chicken. Whatever your goal is, this place can deliver.

I finally stopped by this restaurant tonight. I’ve passed by The Golden Beak quite a few times on my way home from work but it slipped my mind since it’s kind of hidden. I wish I would have tried their food earlier because their chicken, plantains, and chicken noodle side dishes were delicious! I actually thought the yellow and green sauce enhanced the flavor of the chicken, and my husband really liked the fry sauce that came with his fries.
The manager was very personable and friendly. It was nice to eat fresh, healthy food that was flavorful and affordable. I look forward to my next visit! :)

Delicious! I have driven past this place so many times and would never stop because I thought «fried chicken». Boy was I wrong! My son ate there with a friend and said I had to try it.
The chicken is rotisserie charcoal. It smells amazing! No MSG!!! The sides were original. Fresh cut fries! Cooked in canola oil. We had the chic pea curry with rice (my favorite) and mixed veggies. The veggies could have been better. Looked like they took a bag of frozen veggies and razed them up with onion and spice.
The prices were very reasonable and the staff were super friendly.
All in all an amazing quick and tastey dinner! Dont let the name deter you. Ill be back!

Just popped in here really quick today because it’s close to where I work. It was a little busy, so I kind of had to shout my order at the person behind the glass. Waited a few minutes on yucca fries to go with my order (which I’m not complaining about at all — the freshly cooked yucca was delicious!). The chicken (¼ dark) was OK in flavor, but it was juicy and not dry at all as some of the previous reviews state.
Only thing I was annoyed with was that they put my COLD side salad in the same to-​go container as my HOT chicken. By the time I got back to work to eat, my salad was warm and that is just gross and ended up not getting eaten.

Good quality doesnt make you feel like crap or cause acid reflux. Food was bland minus the chicken but the sides were boring. There wasnt anything special about it to make me want to go back. Customer service wasnt that great I felt ignored trying to make small talk then they all start speaking spanish to make you feel even more ignored. But guess what? Yo hablo español.

Great, flavorful, juicy chicken! I love the sauces that come with each order. They recently added more side dishes, of which the chicken fried rice is my absolute favorite. I love that they prepare all the food onsite, from scratch! Finally, the owners and employees are very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. I’ll definitely be back!

I was pleased first with the price as it was about $ 10 less even with an extra side than the other Peruvian chicken spot. They offer curry chickpeas as a side which was surprising so I had to try and I thought they were very tasty. The fried plantains were very sweet and ripe although they could have used a little less oil when frying. The chicken was very flavorful and only slightly dry. The green sauce had the perfect amount of spice and you could really taste the cilantro. Overall I enjoyed my meal and I would definitely go back again.

Meh. The chicken wasn’t very flavorful, and it had an overly soft, mushy texture. The mixed vegetables on the side were pretty bad, and obviously frozen. (Would it really be that hard – or costly – to chop up a few fresh veggies and toss them with some kind of seasoning?) The black beans were fine, but it’s hard to screw up black beans.
The service was friendly and reasonably efficient, but that doesn’t make up for mediocre food.
Sardi’s is much better – they have similar problems with dodgy side items, but at least the chicken is moist and flavorful, with a proper chickeny texture. Barring a menu overhaul, I doubt I’ll go back to the Golden Beak.

The chicken is succulent and nicely spiced. The rice and black beans is cooked perfectly with a nice texture. The staff is especially friendly and helpful. I can’t wait for my next visit to The Golden Beak.

Went during lunch. Chicken is pretty good but i think sardis is a bit better. Sardis has more selection of sides and sides are better at sardis. Also a bit more expensive than sardis overall if you want Peruvian chicken i recommend sardis over this place. If sardis wasn’t in Frederick I’d come here more.

Fantastic food! Just had a half chicken, fried rice and French fries. The sauces are delicious as is the chicken!

Supporting the business, this restaurant was very good to us. Today, my brother, my son and I thought to stop by and give this restaurant a try. We are big Peruvian chicken lovers and heard that this place was serving Peruvian chicken. Without a thought, we felt very welcomed. The front guy who we believe was the owner of the place was extremely laid back and friendly. The side choices aren’t much, but it tasted very fresh. Hopefully they’ll add more sides like veggies or yuca. The chicken was very juicy and seasoned just right. A bit different from any other roasted chicken I have ever had. But it was still delicious! It also comes with the regular white and green sauce which is always a good fix with the chicken it self.
On a side note, my son really enjoyed the dancing chicken outside the restaurant. It was cute and kept waving at us even inside the restaurant. My son got quite the laugh through out the whole visit. Very friendly staff.
I would definitely come here again and recommend this place to anyone!

What a disappointment, the chicken was dry and taste only of cumin, but edible, sides were not!
Chaufa was flavorless and gooey, pinto beans slimy and bland, the green sauce had a nice cilantro flavor but needed that kick, but what is up with the pink sauce? Ketchup and mayo diluted? Hmmm money down the drain…

Save your money and go to Sardies! Ordered a 2 piece white and the wing was so small it was pitiful (they charge an extra dollar.) I had rice and beans and a salad as side dishes. Salad consisted of lettuce, radishes and shredded carrots. ranch dressing on the side. The food was very bland. The soda was decent. I ate the breast and tasted the sides. The rest went in the trash. My $ 10.24 could have brought me better joy some place else.
