Tri State Home Services

I recently had Tri-​State Home Services come out to service my AC unit. I had them inspect my units and install a new blower motor, and James did an excellent job. He went out of his way to help me understand what was happening with my system, and was very professional and helpful. I’ll definitely be calling them again for service.

Unfortunately, my most recent experience with Tri-​State was so bad that I can no longer recommend them and am downgrading my previous review. We were installing new flooring in our kitchen, so needed to disconnect our dishwasher and refrigerator from their water sources. Not wanting to tackle the job ourselves, I called Tri-​State to send a plumber to disconnect these appliances. They sent a plumber who had been to our house previously to install a new faucet, so I assumed everything would go well. There were no problems disconnecting the appliances and the plumber told me to pay after they came out for the reconnection. After the floors were completed, the same plumber came back and reconnected our appliances. Then I was told that the amount due for about 20 minutes total of work would be $ 350.00! I got a receipt with no detail of how these charges were computed or what they were for. I had previously been charged $ 205 by this same company for a toilet and kitchen faucet installation which were far more complicated and took a lot longer. Additionally, I have discovered that since the water was reconnected to the refrigerator icemaker, water is leaking down into the bottom of the freezer compartment (we have a bottom freezer), so apparently I paid for poor work. Now I am going to have to pay another plumber to come out and try to fix this, because even if I could get Tri-​State to do this for free, I will never use them again.
I did contact Tri-​State for an explanation of these charges and they said they would check with the plumber and get back to me. They never did; I had to call them several times for more than a month until they finally issued me a $ 100 refund. I still don’t know why the original charge was so high. I do not recommend this company.
