Austin Street Java and Gelato

I must agree this place is not what I thought it would be. When we were there, there were about 5 – 6 choices of pastries available, but not very many of each. It does feel as if you are in someone’s living room, as the place is pretty unprofessionally decorated. Be sure not to sit on the wicker chair on the porch, as I noticed one of the legs is being held up by a coffee mug! Doesn’t look real safe! We just ordered coffee and it was ok — just coffee. The little lady that owns and runs the place was very sweet! I have to give her credit for trying, as that’s one thing Fredericksburg could use more of — great little coffee shops where you can sit outside and enjoy your morning coffee!

One older lady working.rude. Disgusting coffee (so my husband said, I don’t drink java). Where’e the food!!! Saw a sign that stated something about breakfast tacos. «No, don’t have those today.» Literally had a choice of 2 muffins and 1 scone.
Had a voucher from the agency we booked the B&B we stayed in so it didn’t cost any money out-​of-​pocket, but I still managed to feel really ripped off. Had to go to another B joint in F*Burg and pay for breakfast.
I don’t know why the doors aren’t nailed shut!

Terrible coffee. We were visiting the Luthern Church down the street with a friend of the family. We stopped in for a quick coffee– I’m from Austin so I’m much more of a fan of mom and pop type places over a Starbucks any day but I walked inside and it feels like you’ve walked into someone’s living room who just happens to have a coffee bar inside. I wouldn’t even say they have a wide selection of Muffins for a «Muffin Haus». I ordered an iced latte. The lady had to go to the back or outside to get ice?! It looked like she made a regular hot coffee drink and then just added ice to it. Which may not have been that bad but I took one sip of it and had there been a trash can by the door I would have went ahead and chunked it right there without even bothering to ask for my money back. It tasted THAT bad. :(

My husband and I stayed here one hot Texas summer and LOVED it. The Bed&Breakfast room we stayed in was wonderfuly cozy with a HUGE Whirlpool tub. The grand parents, Mom and grandaughter were all there and were very friendly as we sat around and ate our muffins and drank coffee and played with the porch cat. After mid morning… the selection dwindled. Perhaps this is why others made negative comments about the available choices. Overall we had a wonderful experience and will definately stay again!

Horribly slow service, very little muffin or other food options. The latte was sub par and not great for the price.

We (a group of six) walked in to get cups of coffee and some muffins and they staff looked perturbed to be interrupted… they had a very limited selection of scones and muffins and only had one breakfast burrito option.
A few of us ordered coffee but decided not to stay and eat– one of my girlfriends who is a coffee drinker said she felt it was very awkward and unwelcoming and didn’t even order coffee– she walked out and waited for the two who did order coffee.
The coffee was good… but I would never go back.
