Bronte Bistro

This was quite a surprise. I had some sort of coupon for buying a book, so I went one afternoon with a friend. The menu was diverse, and the food came out great. Portebella samich=yum

This place is new, and we just noticed it last night while eating across the street at Splitsville. I looked up their website this morning and decided to take my husband there for Father’s Day. While sitting in our booth, I heard the manager comp 2 dishes at other tables (not a good sign). We waited for at least half an hour for our food. I felt sorry for our server. We only ordered 2 dishes, and at one point she came by to say that they were waiting on my (spinach, tomato, and feta) omelet, that «it takes a long time to make.» Once we DID get our food, the fruit was missing off both plates, and my hashbrown casserole was still cold in the middle. But you know what? I used to work in a restaurant, and sometimes stuff happens. And they just opened. I really want to like this place (plus they have a lot of veggie options!), so I will give them another try (maybe in a month or so, when they’ve had time to iron the kinks out).
**edited to say– Another cool thing about this place is they have 1 page of the menu that is recipes from a particular cookbook that they are featuring. They change it up every month. This month? Pioneer Woman!
