Java ranch is a decent coffee shop with a downtown price mark up. The inside has a fun western theme with scenes of cowboys rangling cattle painted on the walls. They sell Java Ranch postcards and T-shirts as well as coffee. The service is good, and the coffee tastes like coffee. Nothing memorable on either end. They offer all the espresso essentials along with iced coffee and a few luxuries such as almond milk. At $ 3.50 a cup, its not the cheapest in the world but it is more memorable than a Starbucks. My iced coffee was cold and caffeinated, meeting the qualifications needed for mid afternoon pick-me-up. Overall if you’re in the Downtown area of Fredericksburg, Texas then Java Ranch is a great place to stop for a quick coffee, but I would not go out of my way for it.

Run of the mill coffee shop in an area with high tourist traffic. The gamut of coffee and espresso drinks are available. Chai, hot tea and hot chocolate are also available, along with a limited selection of smoothies, shakes and frappé. They also have beer, wine, margaritas, bellinis, baked goods and breakfast. My iced coffee with almond milk got the job done but wasn’t postcard worthy.

Coffee was fairly good and the scones and muffins weren’t bad. Breakfast tacos left a bit to be desired but they were better than any other place we tried in town. Overall, a decent and convenient place to go for coffee, just not amazing.

The service was fast from behind the counter. The mocha was flavorful, but the ice displaces the mocha so that the latter seems only a tablespoon. I had sucked it all down by the time that I ambled out the door and wondered if I’d ordered a Slushee from Dairy Queen.

The coffee is good. Ordered a sausage and egg taco and got polish sausage in the taco. GROSS. Dissapointed. Not what I expected

Okay, so the coffee and fresh baked goods may be worth trying, but oh my goodness, don’t make my mistake here and get breakfast here unless you’re absolutely desperate. This was the saddest breakfast I have had in a long time. From the powdered eggs, thin precook bacon, to the regular sausage instead of ground regular sausage used in the breakfast burrito, and ending on the salsa from a jar, the breakfast served here is a total ripoff. None of it is freshly made! Unfortunately the prices don’t reflect that. I’m pretty sure it was all just stuff heated in a microwave. There’s not a whole lot of seating, so hopefully you’re getting your stuff to go.

We stopped here for morning coffee and a roll before heading out to tour. It was a great place to stop and we were able to get a table for four without a problem. We’d definitely stop again if in the area and needed our morning juice.

Service was not so good! Waited forever. Workers did not seem rushed at all. Service at counter was great but coffee was honestly worth the wait.

Probably the best coffee place I have visited in a long time. We ordered Irish cream latte, caramel frapp, peach shake and all of them were refreshing and better than most chain coffee houses have to offer. They justified the tag of best coffee you’ll ever have. Ambience was great with some unique boards and write ups. Staff was friendly.

Lovely place for a hot chocolate on a wintry December day, when we need a warmup from shopping :) Mocha cappucino was smooth silky and sweet — perfect to sip and enjoy while people watching. Vanilla Frappucino was smooth and cool with a big burst of caramel and vanilla flavor. One of the best of these we have had — better than Starbucks! Iced mocha ditto — better than Starbucks. We loved the Texas rustic chic atmosphere here, and if we had not had lunch already we’d have indulged with a Fredericksburg peach blini!

Nice place. Good service. I had a strawberry smoothie, which was delicious! The cappuccino and iced something-or-another my GF and coworker had were very well-liked.

We came here specifically to get iced lattes and grabbed breakfast as well. The place is really cozy and smells like a cinnamon roll! Their kolaches are good but their breakfast tacos are just ok. First of all, they are huge! So think twice before ordering 2. And the tortillas are thick, too large and taste like flour. Not overly impressed. Grab a coffee here and go elsewhere to eat.

Small little coffee shop/bakery/diner type place. Servers wern’t overly friendly, and were just there. My iced coffee was average. The cookie and strudel I tried were average. Everything here was just average. At least we had a brief respite from the cold and rain.

Always my favorite latte stop here local area. Good, the usual, selections of everything. Always real good service and I like how some of the coffee drinks are done, allowing customer to select from several ready mades.

Good place for a simple breakfast. Eggs, toast, bacon and potatoes plate was good. Good strong coffee and it seems that the locals like to go there so not an over priced tourist trap.

this place is in a great location right on the busy part of main st. there’s street parking right outside the JV. there were cases of pastries and kolaches which was nice since my friend hasn’t had a kolache before. the kolache was yummy! nice snack while we went wine tasting. didn’t think the staff was very friendly though.

Family and I came to this place while on a vacation for Labor Day weekend. We were so used to our morning coffee at a local Starbucks, but stumbled upon this place off Main Street. The coffee was pretty tasty and the actual shop had a warm feel. There is not that large a selection of snacks, so don’t plan on eating breakfast or lunch here. I had a blueberry muffin that was good, but family and I will be going down the road for brunch after this. The only real downside to the place is the service. There were plenty of staff, but they seemed a bit more interested in catching up on gossip from the night before than attending to customers. The wait was about 15min to get our food and it probably could have been about five minutes if he staff was all working together to turn out food and drinks. With that being said, when I got to the front of the line, the people were very nice. Overall, check this place out for a good cup of coffee, but don’t be in a hurry.

My go-to spot for coffee in Fredericksburg. Their drip house blend is great: bold and flavorful. They serve good pastries and blue bell ice cream too!

If i could give zero stars i would… lets start with the coffee. I read the reviews and thought, ok the coffee will awesome! I am a straight black coffee drinker. No milk. No sugar. This coffee was bitter & burnt! I thought it may just be the one batch so i poured my cup out and tried another, same! If you cant even a simple cup of coffee right… On to the food… oooooh the food… i had the«huevos rancheros» and i placed that in quotes bc i have no idea how they can get away with calling them huevos rancheros. Basically consisted of powdered eggs(with absolutely no flavor), a side of beans(obviously canned), a flower tortilla, a side of salsa and potatoes. No flavor. Like really, None! My husband had the breakfast plate. Again flavorless powdered eggs, tx toast, and microwave bacon– you know, the tiny kind. Never again will be waste our time here. Please save yourself!

Great coffee, not so great quality food. Got the breakfast taco, it was served cold, and they used egg substitutes. For the price per taco($ 3.55), I expected a bit better quality. The coffee is great, the atmosphere is great, the staff is friendly & helpful!
