I saw the reviews on Unilocal and decided to go see Nyea for my routine wash and press. A very young teenager washed my hair, not too very well, hardly touched the back part of my head but ok. The room is like a jail cell but is set up pretty nicely with great décor. Nyea did a good job with my hair and seems very knowledgeable. My issue is when I requested a second appt online a week in advanced for a Saturday at 5pm, I arrived 10 mins early to a closed door and the stylist next door said she left for the day. So I called her and she forwarded me to VM. I waited in my car for 20 mins and left another VM asking her to call me and tell me what happened. I left very upset for this unprofessionalism– the appt was confirmed online at the correct location and even sent me a reminder the day before. I called again a few days later and again, she forwarded me. Needless to say, this behavior is not condoned and I will be going elsewhere with my gracious tips. Any takers???

I needed a stylist to do my daughters natural hair, she needed a shampoo, blow dry and flat iron. Nyea’s salon appeared first on Unilocal, and since it was in close proximity to me, I decided to give her a try. I’m glad I did, my daughters hair looked beautiful and healthy and she was only there for an hour and half! In addition to the quick beautiful service, me and my daughter learned a lot about hair care! Thank you again Nyea, we will definitely be back in a few weeks!

After reading ‘precious s.’ post, I went to go see Nyea Jones. I went for a full sew in, and it was so bad I had to take it out as soon as I got home. All the tracks in the front was visible, BTW my hair passes my ears, so I had enough hair that could have covered the tracks. She’s a funny person and her suite is entertaining, but her lack of doing exactly what the customer want is her down fall. I will not be going back.

I just got my hair done today, and I am very satisfied with it. Ms. Pamela did it and she was very professional the entire time. She answered any and all hair-related questions I had, and was very patient with me. I needed my ends trimmed and it wound up that a good 2 inches were cut from my hair. While that made me nervous, she explained and even showed me why I needed that much cut off(my year old color had done it). It’s been hard for me to find salons that can do African American hair without me worrying if they’ll fry my hair or something worse. I got a relaxer, and it took about 3 hours for her to do it. While it may seem long, she took very good care of my hair, and I greatly appreciate her for it. The only thing I didn’t like was that it cost $ 90 for a relaxer and flat iron. Maybe I’m still not used to the price differences here in VA, but that seemed like a bit much. Other than that, I definitely recommend you going here.

Since moving to Northern VA I have been looking for a salon whose speciality is African American hair, so as usual I looked to Unilocal for guidance. As I typed in the«Search For» box, I prayed to the hair Gods I would find someone and like a light from above, Nyea’s name popped up, I looked @ the photos posted on her profile and was instantly impressed. I saw she had a link for the salon«www.newimagehairgallery.com» I proceeded to click the link and called the Salon. I must say I am highly impressed with my hair, I love my hair! I will be seeing her in a few weeks again to touch my hair up, I have to say once gain Unilocal has not let me down! And thanks to Nyea for making my hair look so awesome!
