With all food coming from local butchers and farmers, this is by far one of the best places to eat in Knox county. Steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Chicken Alfredo was amazing. Desert came fresh from a local baker, delicious! Atmosphere was great. We will be coming back for another date night.

We were the only ones there and the food took forever to be prepared. It wound up being well-worth the wait, but don’t go if you have post-dinner plans. The lighting and mood is a little underdone. We went for lunch and it seemed dark! The ingredients seem fresh and the presentation is awesome. I’ve had the steak and the angus burger. Both are delicious. My mother had the salad and usually, salads aren’t that much worth buying«out,» but this one was. Definitely a nice«fancy» restaurant in little Fredericktown.

We came here for lunch on our way back from shopping. Reviews were good, but we we were not impressed. I can’t speak to the dinner menu or steak others have raved about. The feel is like old-main-st-building-redo: tin ceiling painted black, updated wall paint, new hanging lights, cold and drafty, updated décor. The service was acceptable but slow. The lunch menu only had 8 – 10 options. Everything is in the $ 7 – 10 dollar range. It took over 30 minutes for the food to come out and they weren’t busy. We got regular bar food — sandwiches, fries. People who came in after us were served and gone before it came. The food was decent but not worth a special trip.

This is probably the best place to eat in Knox County The chef puts a creative spin on different dishes. They buy their food locally and the difference shows. The ribeye steak is very good. The service is decent and the atmosphere is really nice. Overall I think this is your best place to eat in Knox county.

Perhaps it was because we came for lunch. But I was not blown away. Our service took forever, and it wasn’t even busy. The food was a bit pricey for not being that good. The place is super cute and remodeled well. I wish I could have come at dinner, looks like they have a better menu than the lunch one.

Door 142 is a fantastic restaurant that could be located in Columbus, Chicago, or any hip city. Luckily for Knox County Ohio, Door 142 calls Fredericktown home! We spend a lot of time in Mt Vernon with family and a week ago, my sister-in-law told us she had a fantastic new spot to take us to that we HAD to try. We had a wonderful night at Door 142 and were easily blown away by the atmosphere, service & food! The interior is cozy and decorated with natural elements and warm colors. The owner’s decorating style is exactly what I’d want for my own home. The Food: The Menu is creative and full of items local to Fredericktown and Knox county. I tried to look up the menu online but Rachel(the owner) told us that she hadn’t put it online yet because it changes so frequently. I thought she was going to tell me it changed monthly but when I asked how often it changes, she said«every 2 — 3 days». For our appetizer, we had the Smoked Salmon and the Snake Bites. Both were absolutely delicious and served with creative plating and flavors. For dinner, my sister-in-law and I both had the Black & Blue Ribeye. I never order steak when I go out, but I heard so many other tables raving over this item that I had to order it. It was cooked perfectly and served with a baked sweet potato and green beans. The men both ordered Hot Pastrami sandwhich. They’re suckers for good pastrami. There were no left overs on their plates either, but they both we’re bummed that they didn’t order what we had. It took us a few hours to leave after we finished our meals because there was a constant stream of old classmates and neighbors from Fredericktown walking in that my family knew. I grew up in Columbus and that never happens to me. Its obvious that Door 142 is super popular with the locals!

I love this place! The food is delicious! I love how they use local vendors for their food distributors. There is always something new and creative on the menu! The staff is friendly and attentive and the owner is an inspiration! I highly recommend this establishment! The snake bites are to die for and the locally cut ribeye is delish! The burger would be my next favorite! And don’t forget to ask about dessert! They have the most wonderful dessert creations! Such a great addition to a cute small town! I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant!

Best place in any small town. Local small town meat and vegetables meets a creative high professional chef. Great beer and bar as well. Try the snake bites if you love bacon and a spicy punch. Don’t pass out on the trout or the pastrami sandwich.
