We came here on a Saturday night for some late night food because it was the easiest option for us at the time. Was not a huge fan. We waited almost 10 minutes before a server showed up to our table. Food was minimally good. Fries were decent. Mozzarella sticks were awful and made my friend not feel so good. Our server never came back to check on us. Will not be returning and we didn’t even try to get dessert. And this was after we spent $ 55 bucks for 3 people.

I love this place it’s always the best, portions are on the bigger side, and prices cheap, I don’t really look at prices when I go out and eat, because you got to spend money to enjoy food, well food is really good and fresh at the same time, the only thing is I ordered take out a few times and the fries were very soggy, all 3 times. Overall it was still good.

I ordered a patty melt cooked medium. The burger I received was overcooked. The host sat me directly under a heating vent that blew uncomfortable hot air on me during my meal. There are no waitresses here. They only had middle-aged men working as waiters. These waiters were more interested in watching a Mets game than they were in taking care of their customers. I won’t be coming back.

First time here on a Saturday morning and wow was it busy. Guess that was a good sign. I first got a craky Mac and cheese. I wish it was a little thicker. It was a little runny for my taste. I had to try the truducken burger. That’s right, turkey, duck, and chicken grounded into a party. I was leery of ordering it but I wanted to try something different. Glad I did. It comes with a Cranbury sweet spread. I had to try it because I never seen it at another place. I highly suggest it. It was very moist and not gamy at all. I would go back and order the same thing. Highly suggest this place. The menu had a lot of other options.

Customer service is not in their vocabulary. My girlfriend and I go to this diner every week because we order the same thing(egg white monte bianca frittata, no cheese, raw onions well done and ask if they could use cooking spray instead of oil)… EVERY week! And if we get the right waitress, she gets it correct. Today we got the wrong one and twice got the mediterranean frittata. TWICE. When we asked to speak with the manager a woman came over and told us that they wasted over $ 50 already on our breakfast because they got it wrong… crazy to tell US that. Third time must be a charm when they came out correct. When we got the bill, we were actually taken aback that not only was there NO apologies but usually a restaurant would do something for their customers when they screw up like this. So we asked to speak with the owner. He would NOT come over to our table. We were told, after waiting, that we would have to go to HIM. So we did. We explained how his customer service was lacking and how we come there every week and he said that every week we send the omelet’s back! He made us feel that because they don’t listen and give us «whatever» that we are supposed to eat it and shut up. Well, last I checked, I’m the customer and he is the customer service provider. Needless to say, he was so rude that we walked out without paying the bill. He said never to come back and I said«no problem»!! I’m telling you this on Unilocal because I have never run into such rudeness EVER! But not to worry… I won’t every step foot in this diner. Especially since there are so many great diners all around me. I hope you think twice after you read this. BTW…I did go back to pay the bill because two wrongs never make it right.

Gave this place another try despite my better judgment. Service is non existent. Owner or manager at the front is a coward and a crook and a joke… Can’t wait till it changes hands again.

I order a salad that was there signature salad from menu and salad was wrong. I was not going to say anything then I realized I should. Then the manager ignored me when I went to pay bill. He asked how my meal was when he new that the salad was wrong. Poor job on management. The waitress was very good.

Today we went to the Park Nine Diner in Freehold, NJ as my Mother-in-law’s choice for her 87th birthday luncheon. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised! I’m not the biggest diner fan for regular outings. To me, diners are a place to go after a movie, not for a special outing. This place was good, and I mean really good. I lived in Jackson during my teens &20s, so I know the area quite well and this used to be the Golden Bell diner. It was never a favorite. We used to congregate at the Regent in Howell(which everyone thought was in Lakewood) but again, it was mostly for late-night post-movie outings. My husband and son both ordered the stuffed flounder with crabmeat stuffing. They loved it. It was served with sauteed spinach, tomatoes and mashed potatoes. It looked so good my daughter reached over and swiped some. She loved it, too. My MIL ordered a beef gyro, and I ordered the Turducken burger off of the specials because it sounded so good. It was amazing! It was a great blend of ground turkey, duck and chicken, served with a cranberry dressing. I was really impressed. My daughter lived up to her 12 year old self and ordered chicken fingers, saying she only likes Gyros from places she knows. Sigh. My brother-in-law ordered a Jersey omelet which looked good. The waiter(Joe) made our day, though. He was high-energy and kept checking on us, making sure we were happy. When I asked him for a chocolate cupcake so we could sing to my MIL, he brought out this huge, mousse-laden cupcake and had all the waitstaff come sing to her. It was sweet. So, props to this diner, it was definitely a step above.

Meh. Not terrible, but I won’t return. Though my daughter enjoyed her burger, too many ‘diner basics’ were missed and left me disappointed. Side of veggies were boiled to the point of no color or taste, food came out cold, poached eggs were raw, order issues(forgot items, no bacon on bacon cheeseburger), etc. Too many superior diners on rt. 9 to try this one again.

This was my first time at Park Nine Diner and I was pleasantly surprised! Great service(especially for the day after Christmas) and food was delicious! Joe was an awesome server — great energy and very personable! I will definitely be back!

The server and owner were pleasant. The best omelette with cheese and mushrooms I’ve had in a long time. They seemed attentive to all customers from where I could see. I recommend this restaurant, at least for lunch. They have a salad bar, but I didn’t get a chance to check it out. I used their bathroom before I ordered. No complaints.

I’m writing this review based on a single dish my mom ordered this afternoon– the moussaka. It was actually awesome, I was so surprised it came out of the kitchen of some random highway diner. And the service was great the prices were good and they give you a ton of food. I never rave about diners but hats off to this one.

I have been back several times and the improvement has been vast. The staff has their stuff together and the food comes out fast and hot.

So far, this is the best diner we’ve been to in the Freehold area. That list includes, from best to worst, the Park, All Seasons II, Gus’s, and the Manalapan. If you like Buffalo wings, these are the best we’ve found in Central NJ. Smoky and hot, they come with a nice, slightly loose, blue cheese dressing. The gyro is also very good, with a light and fresh and cucumber-y tsatziki. The Belgian waffle and the Monte Cristo are both also excellent. We haven’t tried any dessert yet, but they look very good — they are located across from the register as you walk into the diner. Only thing lacking is more variety on the salad bar, but the ingredients there were fresh and tasty.

Most diners deliver quantity rather than quality. At this place, it’s no quantity, mediocre quality, and high prices. Nickle and diming is not what I expect at a diner. They did a nice job refurbishing the outside, but don’t let that fool you. The management is rude and actually was trying to engage with me when I complained about charging me extra for some pickles. Never seen that before so I asked and it was explained to me that 3 or 4 slices of pickles were indeed extra on the bill.(Guess it doesn’t matter the waitress didn’t serve pickles with some of the meals) I won’t spend a lot of time here debating whether I should have been charged extra or not, but I can tell you that once the owner of a restaurant actually argues with me after overhearing my complaints and acts as if he wants to engage,(because the customer said he would go somewhere else next time), I’m done. Yes sir, the manager or owner had to have the last word. Well, since I could see where that conversation would be going, I chose to walk away. And based on some of the reviews here, I’m not the only one who decided to keep on walking. Plenty of other diners and if I’m right, this place won’t be in business long.

We had a large group come in for lunch, and they gave us an entire room at the back of the diner. Service was a little slower between ordering and getting our food, but otherwise we were well attended to. I ordered breakfast for dinner, pancakes with eggs and bacon. The pancakes were large and very tasty, the rest of it was just eggs and bacon and homefries, fairly ordinary. Other people got very large portions of what they ordered. I should have had the French toast — it looked particularly delicious from a few plates over. Relatively limited breakfast menu, more lunch/dinner options overall. I sampled a few other foods that people didn’t finish — fries were pretty good, the French onion burger(daily special) was also pretty good. It’s typical 3-star diner food, but at good portions for the prices, and with pretty good overall service. At least as far as my own experience went, I see no reason why there are so many low-rated reviews. Maybe they have had past issues, but have worked to resolve them. Put it all together, and I’d happily come back here another time.

Been here quite a few times for breakfast and never had a bad experience.(I remember Golden Bell too) Have recommended to others because I felt the quality of breakfast was above average, our waiter was great and food came out quickly. But… have stopped by recently for lunch and it was pretty terrible. I found hair and plastic(Saran wrap) in my food. Sent it back. Ordered something else and it was totally bland. yuck. The waitress appeared like she couldn’t be bothered and didn’t even apologize for the food issues. Gave it 3 stars because I’ve always had a great experience with breakfast. I guess it depends on who’s on the wait staff and cooking that shift. I’m assuming the more seasoned and efficient employees are scheduled for their peak times, not a weekday late lunch. Just going by this most recent experience, I’d definitely rate it 1 star… and never come back.

Classic Jersey Diner that does a brisk Saturday afternoon business. I ordered a BLT which was stacked high on whole wheat bread with delicious tomatoes and iceberg lettuce. the waitress got the order absolutely right including the sweet potato french fries. My friend ordered a grilled cheese with bacon. No complaints were heard. The waitress was attentive and backed off when we indicated we were two friends reconnecting after many many years and would need time to just be and chat and the waitress respected our space. We never felt hurried or rushed. And I always appreciate when the wait staff does that when it’s requested. The core was the 1950s. The seats were comfortable and cushy. The bathrooms while designed very nicely, the room needed to be attended to a little more regularly. There were hand towels, plenty of soap and places to hang purses in the stall.
