Freeport Memorial Library

This is probably one of the best libraries in Nassau County. The renovations have been making it even more beautiful and I can’t wait to see everything once it’s done. They have anything you could want, but if you manage to find something you need that they don’t have, they will look it up and always offer to get it from another library for me. My daughter is a huge book-​lover so we are here often. In addition, all of the staff is wonderful. Pleasant and helpful, every time. My father inquired about old newspapers last year for some research he was doing, so the woman asked for his name and number, said she’d check into it and within a week she called him and had tons of articles and references for him. Really going above and beyond, I wish I knew her name to give her the credit!

The library is a library. As far as libraries go, it’s a pretty good one and they are doing some renovations to make it better.
But!!! Remember this… make sure to put a quarter in the meter. There is a officer that is dedicated to writing tickets. He watches the parking lot and if you don’t put a quarter in the meter you’ll get a ticket even if it’s just to walk to put something in the bookdrop.
Heed the warning!

Nice library, one of the nicest in the area. The few times I’ve needed help with research, they have been very helpful. Everyone who works there is nice, and they have quite a few interesting events.
