I walked in while out on my bicycle and this place is clean. I used to deliver for a really dirty Chinese place. Jade Garden has a huge kitchen, you can see just about everything that’s in it, and it’s spotless.
I ordered chicken and broccoli combo. Everything was as expected. Stuffed myself with a huge portion for about $ 9 w/​tax.
It’s not ghetto. I know ghetto.

The only acceptable choice for Chinese-​American take-​away in Freeport. Sure, I live in the ghetto, but at least my ghetto Chinese cookery knows how to cook tofu proper.
Jade Garden is obscenely cheap, has never not used good produce in my dishes, is willing to make substitutions on their menu items (at this point they’ve been delivering to my house for 6 years and know that I just make dishes up) and deliver speedily. I would never recommend eating in here, since it’s depressing, ugly, and stupid, but take-​out is okay if you give them 10 minutes notice.
Some surprisingly good stuff to order here: lo mein, fried fish, cold sesame peanut noodles, fried bean curd with garlic sauce, and egg drop soup. I tend to tell them to go light on the sauces, or else they douse it with it, as most places do.
Oh, it’s cash only and they deliver in blizzards, apparently. Whatever, man. I was a delivery boy too, once upon a time, I tip well.
