was looking at records in the back one day and overheard the owner tell one of his minions to go watch me. No one steals records grandpa! Get with the times or get a security camera.

I spent about $ 750 on a vintage 1974 Fender Mustang from Michael’s Music in Freeport, NY. $ 750 is a fair price for a vintage guitar with all original parts, unfortunately my guitar had had the tuning knobs replaced and that was something that I wouldn’t have ever noticed. When I went to trade that guitar in for a different one, i found out that it had very little value without all original parts. It was probably worth about $ 100 and I paid more than 7 times that price because I didn’t know what to look for. I feel like they took advantage of me. I’m happy Unilocal exists so I have a venue to tell other customers that I believe I was overcharged for my guitar from Michaels Music. Perhaps this was a mistake on their part and they are putting legitimate prices on their wares, perhaps not. I’d be interested in hearing their response to this. All I know is that the value of my guitar was not anywhere close to what I paid. I believe shopping at Michaels Music is risky. You should do your homework before buying a guitar from anywhere, there is always a chance someone will rip you off. And shop around, there are plenty of places to buy an instrument out there.
