About the same price as a sushi restaurant in NYC, and at the same quality needed to stay open there! I quite enjoyed the specials they offered that night: soft shell crab appetizer and a sushi roll w/mango. The white tuna, and the salmon skin were also standouts. Unfortunately they were out of both toro and uni but the staff was both quick and friendly so that made up for that. While not the best sushi I’ve ever had, it is certainly the best sushi within Freeport and the neighboring counties, and although the price is prohibitive to going there weekly, I will be sure to return for special occasions to come.

Fair Japanese cuisine. Sushi rolls were creative, but not as fresh or crisp as I would have liked. Cherrystone Miso was a pleasant surprise. Service is prompt and polite.

I went here after shopping around in the awesome Freeport Outlets. I went looking for a quick bite to eat and thought Japanese would hit the spot. I walked into Miyako and ordered the easiest dish on the menu — Chicken Teriyaki. It was chicken slices with some bottled teriyaki sauce poured on top of it. And there were 3 slices of tomatoes, 3 lemon wedges and a little rice… a little effort, please! I also tried the vegetable tempura which tasted like it was purchased at a grocery store and warmed up in a microwave. The bill came and it was $ 30!!! What in the world? Don’t fall into this tourist trap!

We had a craving for sushi on the way back from Bar Harbor and we stopped in Freeport for shopping, so we came here. I thought the décor was very cute, but I wasn’t really impressed with the food. However, it could have been the items we ordered, which seemed to be either fried or mayonnaise filled. I’ve said this time and again but mayo is my mortal enemy, my Room 101(allusion to «1984»). Anyway, we had the seaweed salad and tempura sushi type appetizer that I would probably never order again. Our sushi was alright, but we ordered this crazy California sunshine roll and my husband and I were debating whether the fried stuff on top of the roll looked like Cap’n-Crunch or those Smacks cereal(you know, the red box with the frog on it). It was supposed to be fried shrimp, but it was way sweet and very strange looking. The spicy hamachi roll was not bad and the Rainbow roll was very good. I would return, but I think I would order something totally different next time.

I was sent here by a friend who knew that I was looking for sushi closer to the Brunswick area. For some reason, Unilocal hides this place, so I wouldn’t have found it without the tip, but I’m glad I did. If you’re looking for it, it’s right above China Rose — head south by the main drag in Freeport and it’s on your right. I’ve only been the once and I only sample a few of the rolls, but they were very well executed. Fish was pretty good. Overall, the sushi’s well worth it. Not what you’d find in San Francisco or even Boston, perhaps, but excellent for the area. Recommended.

In the past, I have had good, but not great sushi here — but good enough to make it worth staying in town rather than driving to Portland. My last experience we just strange, though. Very small portions of fish on the sushi, but even small portions of rice! Like ¾″ long for a piece of Nigiri. I felt ripped off for the price I paid, and I won’t be back.
