Stumbled across this place while looking for somewhere to camp for a few nights on the Maine coast. Good sites, well taken care of. Showers and restroom facilities were in great shape and kept cleaned regularly. No hookups if that’s what you’re looking for. Sites on the waterfront are $ 35/night, sites not on the waterfront are $ 30. Some of the sites away from the water are pretty secluded as well if you prefer some privacy. Overall a good deal for being so close to Freeport and a quick run down the highway to Portland. Can be in the Freeport village from your campsite in under ten minutes, and 25 minutes easily gets you to downtown Portland. Check out Harraskeet Lunch and Lobster a few miles away for a seafood fix.

Such a beautiful park with a beautiful view, a great playground, clean bathroom facilities, picnic tables, covered areas for functions and a place for campers. There’s a cover charge of $ 3/person when entering. I don’t know if the fees are different for campers and if they are staying over night.

Pretty decent facility for the $ 25 they charge per tent site; or $ 30 for an ocean view one. The sites are very roomy and you can easily set up in whatever configuration you want without being too pressed for space. Showers were a bit dirty but were in manageable condition though. Still, it is good enough for me to return.

This is a cheap way to be close to Freeport and potentially have a good lake view. The campgrounds mostly had RVs, but there are tent spots too. Our tent spot was very large and ended at the cove’s edge. There were shrubs and trees between campsites for added privacy, but it is still relatively open camping. The bathrooms were clean(for campgrounds) and had free showers(a luxury after camping through North Eastern state parks), Good to decent views. The park has a playground and several picnic areas. The park host was mostly friendly but had his fair share of sarcasm. Booking was a little convoluted with him, but we were able to work it out better in person than over the phone. He was very helpful in recommending a preferred campsite. They have a free book swap/library which was nice. In sum, decent to good place for camping, especially if you want to be close to Freeport area. Many of the RV-ers appear to be «dug in» and making this place their summer home. Good options for family picnics and activities.
