Solid Thai in the Fremont Mission boulevard area. I’ve had better, but I’ve had much worse. Came here last week during a work training for lunch. Enjoyed some good pumpkin curry — pumpkin could’ve been softer and less ripe, but eh. Not bad. For our options in the area, it was definitely in the top %. Getting the check however, was a certified fiasco. I feel bad because our waitress didn’t speak English very well, but it was just a mess. Everyones orders were all mixed up — we had to use Venmo and my math skills just to sort it all out.

The service is highly lacking. We stood in front of the door for 5 minutes before we were even acknowledged and seated. They didn’t even seat us, they just asked«how many people» then pointed at a table. Once we were seated, they didn’t even provide us with a menu to look at. We ended up getting a menu that was on an empty table because no one ever came out and brought one to us. When someone finally came to us, she asked if we were ordering take out. We told her«no, we’re dining here and would like to place our order now.» She then says«ok,» walks away, and then proceeds with taking the order from another party who arrived after we did. We were so disappointed and irritated from this poor service, we just walked out and went to Sala Thai 2 on Grimmer.

Apparently I wrote a tip 10 months ago and was absolutely livid with the service but I didn’t put in the effort to write a review. At the time, I was here with my dad and we were one of two patrons available but it took us well over an hour to get our food. As in it took us so long we had to walk into the kitchen to ask about the food so I dumped this place for good(or so I thought). I intended to go to the bakery store next door but they were closed on Mondays so I decided to take a chance with this place again despite it being a lunch hour rush, knowing how slow they can be without other patrons. I took my girlfriend here and it took about 40 minutes as well as checking in with the waitress to get our Pad Thai and seafood clay pot, all while watching other tables come in and out. I actually saw a guy browse the menu, order, then get his food while we were just twiddling our thumbs. Not only that, we were seated next to the kitchen but the waitress made an extra effort to look past us. The food is fantastic however and you can’t go wrong with their daily lunch specials. Just make sure they charge you for the daily lunch special prices because they most likely won’t. Is recommend other places nearby and skip this place.

This restaurant is like the ghetto version of Mango Garden. We would have preferred to eat there, but they were completely booked. So we took a chance on Beyond Thai… That was a mistake. Once we arrived, we had to ask for water 3 times. The water was muggy(not clear, did not look clean), our neighboring tables noticed this as well. When we ordered(via both name and number from menu), the waitress had a notepad and wrote down something(we assumed it was our order), disappeared for 2 minutes, and then came back and asked us what we wanted to order. This led to our current unanswered question: «are these people high?» We left about 30 minutes later after both tables(who had been seated after us) received their apps or meal, and we were still awaiting our meal(no apps ordered). The waitress seamed surprised… I guess she was high.

Food: The fried rice here is great good. Mango Sticky Rice is my favourite dessert. Customer Service: everyone is so friendly and helpful. Parking Lot: There is plenty of parking. Overall: Will definitely come back. The food is decent here but the service is spotty. We had some good servers and some bad.

I came here for a birthday dinner with my family. There were 6 of us and we had a reservation. When we walked in, we got a blank stare from the workers… like«what do you guys want?» After being stared at for a minute or two, we were seated. It took several minutes for someone to greet us at the table. We weren’t ready to order, but we did ask for a round of teas and waters, which took more than 10 minutes to come out. The tom kha soup was watered down. The crispy chicken was all batter and no chicken. The papaya salad, however, was more generous in portion size than other Thai restaurants. The biggest reason for the 1 star was due to one of the workers at the restaurant stealing my CC information and trying to change information on my account. I’ve never had an issue with this card, but the day after using it at this restaurant I was alerted from my CC company that someone called the number on the back of the card and tried to access my info. The phone number that attempted to access it ended in –6668. Be careful of this place and using CC’s! If shady CC business is going on here, I can’t imagine that they care about cooking their food all the way either(like I’ve read in other posts on here!)

There are a lot of Thai restaurants in our area… lots. The food was tasty enough… but in neighboring restaurants the presentation is more traditional. The Larb was served like a salad with chopped romaine… the Tom Yum was flavorful with regular white mushrooms and hardly anything else. They brought out the tofu plate for my guest AFTER I finished my Tom Yum AND the larb. Small things, but when there is so much competition, it’s the small things that matter.

Clean and quality food. We got spicy fish, crispy spicy fish and BBQ chicken lunch menu. They were all decent dishes. You can choose how spicy you want your fish. I always go for the spiciest. They have many options to choose from. There was no wait during lunch time and service was quick. Attentive staff. Will come back to try other dishes here at lunch.

We had the most terrible experience for lunch today… After driving about 40 minutes to try this place out, we were so disappointed… As we entered, we were promptly seated by the nice lady, might be the Owner, not sure… We ordered their chicken shrimp wrapped bags… kind of like a fried wonton… when it came out… it was a beautiful presentation… my husband ate the first piece by dipping it in the sweet n sour sauce… when it came my turn, I used my fork to break it apart and it was nasty, the whole inside was raw… can you imagine raw chicken and shrimp… I felt nauseated… The waitress returned it to the kitchen and I told her that my husband already ate one piece and hope he doesn’t get sick… We had also ordered Tom yum soup for 2… which was basically a water soup with added spicy and taramind powder… mushrooms and lemongrass peelings… not a broth like us Asians make. I think I was expecting something deep flavored… On our order was the curry duck… one of the more expensive 11.95 dishes… this was terrible too… all it had was canned chunked pineapple… bamboo and carrots… oh yeah… the duck was Chinese roasted duck… there were a few small pieces in it… it did come with roti… that was good but the frozen stuff you can get at Ranch 99… The waitress did apologize 3 or 4 times, didn’t offer any discount, but no discount could ever take the place of salmonella… just hope my hubby doesn’t get sick and the reason we stayed to finish was I was hoping the spicy curry would kill the germs…

Huge portions for $ 8.95 pad thai chicken. You could share this with 1 – 2 other people assuming you have a small appetite. The noodles were flavorful. Very small restaurant. I went on a Saturday afternoon. There was only one server to the whole restaurant. The server was responsible for 5 – 6 tables but was still very attentive to each party.

My friend and I wanted to try out Mango Garden. There was a wait, so we decided to try out Beyond Thai next door instead, since it had pretty good reviews on Unilocal. We came here on a Saturday night around 8pm. Food: 4 stars My friend got the pad-see-ew with chicken, I got the yellow curry with tofu + a side of rice. The pad-see-ew was perfectly flavored, not too salty. The broccoli that came with it seemed to be steamed and then tossed onto the noodles separately. It would have been better if they had stir fried the broccoli in with the noodles so that it would have flavor as well. The yellow curry claimed to have potatoes in it from the menu description, but I didn’t see any. oh well. There were only like 4 – 5 tofu pieces, I wish there were more. The bamboo shoots were stringy, there were a few pieces where I had to spit out the chewy fibrous parts that were inedible. Flavor was good though. Service: 2 stars We were seated promptly and were handed waters and the menu. That was just about where the good service ended. When we were ready to order, it took a while to get one of the two waitresses’ attention. My friend’s pad-see-ew came out pretty fast, about 10 – 15 min after we ordered. I figured my curry should be following soon. We sat there nibbling on the noodles for another 15 – 20 min, before the curry finally came out. You’d think the curry wouldn’t take that long since curry is usually pre-cooked and probably sitting in a huge pot. The waitress dropped it off like she was doing a drive-by, and left before I could even say anything. She gave us the curry with no bowls, no spoons, and no rice, which I had ordered. The waitresses made themselves scarce, they hang out in the kitchen maybe? And when they do come out, they make a beeline for the table they are aiming for with their heads down, so it was extremely hard to get their attention. It took us like 5 minutes to catch one and flag her down to ask for the rice + bowls. She comes back a minute later with just the bowls + spoons, no rice. Once again, drive-by drop and she zooms straight back to the kitchen again before I could get a single word out about the rice. Another 5 minutes before we were able to flag her down again for the rice. Oh, and their«bowls» were literally the size and shape of a cup, so it was really hard to eat out of. Maybe 45 minutes into our dinner, one of the waitresses did another drive-by drop and placed a random fried rice dish on our table. This time I was actually able to stop her before she zoomed away again, since we didn’t order that third dish. When we were ready for the check, it took another 5 minutes again to flag one of them down. TL:DR — food was good, but unless you feel like wasting a bunch of time getting the waitresses’ attention for subpar service, don’t bother. Or maybe do take-out instead.

This thai place was not that bad of a place to try and eat lunch at. My buddy and I came here after our failed hike in the scorching heat. The place was literally a few miles from Mission Peak! Beyond Thai opens at 11 and when we not there, at 11, there was only one other party of two. We were quickly seated! yay for no wait during lunch: D SERVICE: The service here is really good! They are very attentive and I think it is because the fact that it was opening time on a Wednesday! Overall, great service! FOOD: The food here is delicious! I ordered the Pad Thai and my buddy got the Pad Kee Mao. You can right off the bat see that there isn’t much grease like many other Thai places! Super plus, as I am not really a fan of fatty or greasy foods; and my body isn’t a fan of them either. The Lunch special pad thai and pad kee mao comes with Tom Yom soup, it came in a very small bowl… not worth! The tom yom didn’t even taste like tom yom and it was way to watered down. The special or I mean the plate was amazing! But the soup of the day for Wednesday, Tom Yom, was not that great and definitely not up to par! The Pad Thai, comes with of course bean sprouts and they added tofu, I don’t like fried tofu in oil, because you usually just taste oil when you eat it. Meat selection, I think chicken should had been my choice… Beef and pork were okay, they weren’t as tender as I hoped. Overall, I enjoyed my time here at Beyond Thai — not many thai places have great food that’s non-greasy and good service

Its a hit or miss with this place. Sometimes good and sometimes bad. My favorite is the rad nah, zesty thai beef salad, and tom yum koong hot pot. Service: ok, one lady is always attentive at lunch or early dinner. Another during the busy dinner rush and weekend is completely useless. Food Rad nah: flat rice noodle with oyster brown gravy and choice of meat. My fav is chicken and beef.(4⁄5) zesty thai salad with sweet lime dressing: i got it with beef. The flavors are good but small portion for $ 9.95 at dinner?!? Menu said $ 8.95…(3⁄5) Tom yum koong hot pot: 6 shrimp with mushroom and tomato. It could use more veggies. Zesty soup. On point but lacking the last time i was here.(4⁄5) Overall my thai fix.

Not bad but definitely not the best. The inside is nice and clean. Staff was very welcoming and informative. They also began to get busy quiet fast during dinner time. We ordered: Thai iced tea: I love it! Perfect amount of cream, tea, and sugar 5⁄5 Tom kha soup with tofu: it was decent. Nice a hot with the right amount of vegetables and tofu. Did not have the sourness or spicy was that I prefer 4⁄5 Panang curry with rice: the dish was okay. It was very coconut milky but not to the point where I couldn’t eat it. It lacked a tiny bit of flavor. More than a 3.5÷5 but less than a 4⁄5 lol I would return here if I was craving Thai food really badly and my other favorite spots were busy/closed.

Service is amazingly sweet, respectful, and prompt. The food is consistently tasty and always in good portions.(definitely filling) Be careful they can get pretty spicy! The ambiance and atmosphere is good for date night or casual eating. My favorite thai place in the Bay Area(I live in SF) all things combined I love this place!

Beyond Thai is the BEST place I eaten at– period. I have eaten at numerous thai places in Fremont… Banh Thai, Sala Thai, My Thai; if it is a Thai spot in Fremont I have eaten there. There are no places in San Jose, Oakland, or San Francisco that even compare yo Beyond Thai. This place is the hands down top grade Thai. The food is bursting with flavor, and its not overly oily like most Thai places. I have tried so many items on the menu and none of them have disappointed me. I would give them 10 stars if I could. No exaggeration. It’s really that good. The décor and ambience could be nicer, but personally I am a foodie and my top priority is GOODFOOD. This is simply the best food! Btw: I am a big eater and it satisfied me so the portion size is very generous.

Really delicious! We got the pad kee mao with lots of veggies and red curry with soft tofu. We asked for no oyster and fish sauce but my friend felt like he tasted some in the noodles. Not sure if it was in there, so double check if you have specs about this, but overall really delicious/spicy food :)

I discovered this restaurant after eating dessert with some friends since it was in the same plaza and I can’t believe how good the food is here. My expectations were not high since I picked it by random out of convenience but I’m glad I ate here. I ordered a Tom Kha soup in the hot pot size and the container that they served it in is so cute. It has a flame in the middle and went out after awhile. It kept the soup nice and warm while I was eating it and I loved the experience. The soup was nice and thick and I also got some noodles to go along with it. The portions are huge! I had a hard time finishing the hotpot size soup with only one other person… I guess that is why they recommend 3 – 4 people for that size. Haha The restaurant feels very authentic, waiter speaks in Thai, the menu has dishes labeled ‘from the land’ which I thought was cool. I think I just found my new favorite Thai restaurant in Fremont so I’m definitely coming back to satisfy my Thai food cravings!

Came here for lunch with two of my friends and it wasn’t packed at all. We’re were seated immediately. We ordered the Roti as the appetizer and Pad Thai(with chicken) and Pineapple Fried Rice(vegetarian) as the main dishes to share between the three of us. We didn’t wait too long for the food to come. The roti was so on point. It was so warm, thin and crisp. The sauce was also so yummy! The Pad Thai was also very delicious. It was sweet and also has a hint of sourness, which was great. The chicken was also pretty good, but it wasn’t as juicy as I expected. The Pineapple Fried Rice was also very yummy. Although it was vegetarian, it was delicious! The tofu was great, too. Overall, I had a great experience here. It was also on the cheaper side, too. Our bill came out to be less than $ 30 with tips. The food definitely filled us up. I would definitely come back!
