I signed up for norcalgreasers in yahoo groups and saw a flyer for this show and thought it was a perfect getaway for me and my husband. I live in L. A and wanted to explore the rockabilly scene in other places. I never realized how spoiled we are in L. A because this car show was much more small than what I am used to. The cars were pretty cool and I enjoyed the rockabilly bands during the day. But did notice that the rockabilly scene started clearing out early which I though was weird since the show continued on to through the night. Then I realized why. The evening show really catered to the swing scene. I’m not into swing so I was pretty bumbed. It was packed but really wasn’t my scene. It took us more than 5 hours to drive up there and wasn’t really worth it for us. The show has a great deal of potential but unfortunately I don’t see myself driving up again. Bottom line-Great for swing not for rockabilly!

Hot rods + pretty pinup ladies + bumpin music = damn good time at Blue Jean Bop! :D Although I did arrive late to this place at like 7pm, I did missed out on getting to visit the Unilocal booth and other things. But I still had a fun time. I had tried swing dancing once while I was on a cruise a few years back, but definitely don’t remember the steps. So whenever I saw couples get on the dancefloor to swing dance, I definitely feel intimidated to go there to even try; especially knowing that I don’t remember at all on how to do that type of dance. The next time I’m coming to this, I’ll make sure that I’ll relearn the swing dancing so I can fully enjoy this event, and to come earlier!

Loved It I’m a Hardcore Car guy. I have Gasoline in my Veins. I have been looking forward to this show for a while and so was my Uncle he has been building Street rods all his life. We rolled to the Saddle rack in his Whip Red Devil. We parked it on the street and street hiked to the entry table. Where we signed in. Then Car Heaven all types of Rods, Lead Sleds, Rat Rods, Low Riders and Corvettes. Then the Rockabilly Bands and the Girls in Period Dress WOW!!! Talk about bringing Sexy Back. The Bands were Non Stop. Back To Back. Our Favorite Unilocal Cm’s Nique and Abby had a Unilocal Beautification Station going at there Booth .They were looking Unilocal Pin up girl Sexy. The Fun last until 1:30AM. Cant wait till next year.

As an avid lover of the 1920’s, I felt instantly at home at this classic car show. They not only had incredible cars, but they also had some beautiful vintage schwa including the adorable crop top that I bought as I walked out of the event. This was definitely a smaller event, but I preferred it that way — enough to keep me entertained without totally overwhelming me! Thank you SO much to Unilocal for the tickets — we had a blast. I particularly enjoyed getting my hair done in a classic 1920’s bob. I got a ton of compliments at the event and even when I continued on with my day! :)

Some people may think that Memorial Day is the start of summer. Actually, I think summer starts when the car shows start. I could go to a car show every weekend and not be bored. I often go to them alone so I can spend as much time and not worry if the person who is with me is enjoying walking around with me. This show was small, but there were some really beautiful Chrome Age cars. I did like that many people at this event were dressed in retro outfits that really did reflect the fifties and sixties fashions. Two stages with live music added to the festive feel of this event. If I had heard some of the music from the movie American Graffiti I would have been in hotrod heaven. This is a link to other car shows
