I came here thinking I really needed new brake pads and rotors because I drive like a meat frog on the streets. They took my Honda Odyssey and then told me to come back in 4 months. Whaa? They said the brakes were good and had lots of pad left. They’ve never serviced my car but I sure will come here if I need anything car related all day everyday.

Eduardo, Sherry, and the rest of the staff communicate the problems and the costs up front so there’s no last minute shock. They even went out of their way to ensure lower costs for your repairs if possible. The service was great and effective. I am more than happy about their service. This will be the place that I bring my cars over for years to come.

I was very lucky to have been referred to Maestro Edwardo by another extremely reputable auto shop owner; who also has his customers best interests in mind. Edwardo and his team were able to troubleshoot, and correct what was going on with our rare, exotic and beloved auto. I trust and value his knowledge and skills, it is well worth knowing the truth than waiting for the next thing to go wrong. Prevention is a great value.
I give high stars as everyone in his shop is friendly, and earnest. Fellow patrons are very nice. Personally, I am grateful to have this talented, experienced, shop to go to. If you love your foreign auto, you’ll love this Maestro!

If I could give them more stars I would. I trust them with my cars, to get it done on time and for reasonable price. They will call if there’s any bigger issues, and will always call and check before doing any extra work.
They will drop you off and pick you up (sometimes even provide a loaner car). They truly try to make it easy, as easy as being without your car can be at least!
I’ve never had them add extra unnecessary work, and even had them recommend delaying work to ensure if it’s actually a problem. They checked out a friend’s car for free to see if work needed to even be done.
Afterwards the owner Eduardo will often go through what work was done and several times has called to check in and make sure the car is driving smoothly several days later.
They provide honest and trustworthy service and treat their customers well. You may wait a little bit, but that’s because they are so good. Eduardo and his team are fantastic and I highly recommend them!

This review is long over due. My wife and I have been taking our German automobiles to Fremont Foreign Auto for over 10 years. To get to the point: they are great! 5 star review. Call them, make an appointment, and the vehicle is serviced or repaired with no fuss, on time, and with never an upsell.
Eduardo (the boss), Sherry (the office manager), and the rest of the staff communicate up front about the cost, and actively do their best to stay within the estimate or even reduce the cost. In a recent repair, Eduardo was able to save me $ 1,500 by refusing to let his parts supplier convince him that he had to buy an entire gas tank assembly when in fact the fuel level sensor was all that needed to be replaced. (I know for a fact that had I gone to the dealer where the vehicle was purchased I would have had buy the whole gas tank assembly.) I can also count on them to let me know when an expensive repair may be coming, e.g. a valve cover gasket that is just beginning to leak, so that I can plan for it. I’ve never had a reason to complain.
I’ve also used them for pre-​purchase evaluations and they accurately forewarned me of several potential issues.
I maintain a spreadsheet of all our automobile expenses. Before discovering Fremont Foreign Auto, I took our cars to the local dealer where our vehicles were purchased. After switching to Fremont Foreign Auto, our automobile expenses have been reduced by about a third. (And the dealer did a lot of upselling.)
Lastly, and this is a small but important detail. Over a short period of time they will learn your name and begin treating you like family. That is the way to treat a repeat customer.

Was very impressed with the level of care and professionalism at this shop. They are knowledgeable, fair, honest and genuinely wants to do good work for you. Had a really good experience dealing with this shop and would definitely come back.

Have always brought my car for service at Fremont Foreign auto and Eduardo has always been exceptional. This time around I heard some noise coming from my front wheels after a road trip. When I took it in to take it for a test drive, we noticed that my wheels have came off loose and Eduardo tighten them up for me for free. Always get professional service!

Pretty good high-​end alternative to getting even higher-​priced dealer service. Eduardo knows his German cars and seems to take the time to get to know his customers as well. They confirmed the diagnosis the dealer gave me and completed a labor-​intensive repair in a single day for about 40% less than Audi Palo Alto quoted. Eduardo explained the repair well, including showing me the problem part and how they fixed it. His son (I think) was also friendly as was everyone else in the shop.
The only downside is lack of waiting area and very cramped parking/​vehicle space — they seem to be storing at least two «projects» for every staff member and his cousin.

Eduardo is absolutely fantastic. These guys are very reasonably priced, honest, and always go the extra mile.

A ripoff place. I bought an old van and I thought I need to have maintenance done. So I send to thise place. Since I’m pretty new to cars, I don’t know how much it actually cost. They charge me 1200 $ for a prefered maintenance. Don’t ever go there. They lie and want more and more money from you.

Eduardo and his staff helped our family repair our BMW 128i. We required an engine replacement and Originally we went to AMCCO (stay away from any AMCCO). But they quoted an outrageous price and we did not trust their diagnosis. We then took the car to the BMW Dealership. We trusted their diagnosis but they wanted a high price for the repair.
We then found Eduardo and Fremont Foreign Auto Service. We towed the car from the dealership to his shop. Even the Tow truck guy spoke highly of Eduardo and Fremont Foreign auto.
Eduardo was able to restore our BMW 128i back to «factory» new status (well as close as possible for a 4 year old car :)

I have never taken my BMW anywhere except the dealership, so I did a research which led me here. i was very impressed with this place. Not only were they cheaper but the service was more intimate. I met the man who worked on my car. He explained everything to me in detail and even called my car warranty company to work out what was covered. I was very happy with everything and everyone was very nice.

It occurred to me this morning while I was listening to a horror story from a friend who took their car to a well known chain group of mechanics for some brake work that I am so lucky to have found fremont foreign auto some years ago. I decided to go to Unilocal to say thank you Edwardo and Sherry and Brian and all the mechanics down there who know what they are doing. You have taken all the scariness out of taking care of my car. Eduardo has a good grasp of problems with the cars, in particular European cars. He nails down the problems quickly and gets them fixed in a reasonable time.

If your thinking of getting your car fixed or serviced there is no other shop that compares to FFA. From the moment you walk in your greeted by Sherry who is not just the front door receptionist. Her automotive knowledge is better than most mechanics so you’ll know your in a great hands. All the mechanics are exceptional too. As as we say, it all starts from the top. Edwardo is the most ethical man I know in the business. He really wants to make sure everything is right with your car, suv or truck. He has such high standards too and everyone else follows his lead.
Try going there once and you’ll never take it to a dealership again. He has saved us so much money over the years too. That was almost 17 years ago.

Brought my car in for a pre-​purchase inspection. It took roughly an hour and a half, closer to 2 hours. They are located right on Mowry but it’s a small shop, with no real parking lot, so it can be easy to miss. They do have a waiting room section in the reception area but it’s quite small & crampy.
They estimated our car to need over $ 2500 in repairs and services. Whoa there. Not only was the estimate an exhaustive list of pretty much every little thing we could do to fix our car (hey, my other car is fairly new, but I’m sure there are PLENTY of things I could fix to make it better), but the repair costs were hefty! Eduardo did a good job of explaining and clarifying all the details of the various repairs, but my goodness. I was definitely in shock, to say the least!
While I was waiting, I saw a couple of their customers come in. They all seemed to be ‘regulars’, as they all knew the shop employees. It seems like if you’re into spending lots of time and money perfecting & playing around with your cars, this is probably a good place to go. If you just need a sound, reliable vehicle, like me, this isn’t your shop.
Update ⁵⁄₃₀: Took our car to another mechanic, and he gave us an estimate of about $ 800.

Took my car (Pontiac G8) for repairs. Brian at the front desk was very courteous and honest. He detailed all the parts cost price and the labor hours. He also informed me that the delay in getting the work done was due to some parts issue; which he did not have to but I am glad he did.
Will be making them the only repair place I go to henceforth!

I took my 2007 Subaru Forester in for a 60k service, which was very expensive, by the way, and when it was done, I was told I needed brakes AND rotors to the tune of about $ 900. A thousand dollar brake job? I even researched how difficult it was to do brake jobs on my car, and it is one of the easiest cars to work on. Anyway, I asked why I needed rotors, and the woman/​manager at the front stated that I just did. That was her explanation! Anyway, being a woman whose daddy raised her to know a little bit about cars, I paid for the very expensive check up, and left, with the intent of taking it to a garage who isn’t ripping you off for a simple mechanical procedure.
I had a long road trip ahead, so wanted a second opinion before the trip.
I took the car to another local place and asked if they could take a look. They told me exactly how many millimeters were on each set, which usually differs. They said I had a good 15k left, maybe 5 and 6 millimeters on the pads, if I remember correctly. They could have lied to me and said I needed a brake job too, but they were honest and their brakes would have been about half of what I was quoted by FFA, including the rotors!
When I got to my destination, which is across the country, there was a brake specialty place who did free brake inspections. I took it in there, and they not only told me I had perfectly fine rotors and pads. I asked if they could show me the pads, which he marked with a sharpie to show that the thickness was as it should be. This was another honest shop, who is not trying to rip off the customers who don’t know what questions to ask, or have never gotten second opinions from other shops when the work ordered seems questionable.
Initially, I trusted FFA and quick service, but either they don’t have technicians who know what they are doing, or they are intentionally padding their pockets with money from people who don’t know any better, don’t know what questions to ask, or don’t know how to research their problem. I don’t necessarily thing a Diamond Rating is a good indicator of honesty in the business world. Stay away from this place, they will take you for a ride!

My front passenger side door needed the motor replaced. Long story short, the service was fast, the work (thx Eduardo) and the price was good.
The receptionist (Sherry, I think) was courteous and pleasant. Even though there were a lot of cars here, the shopped looked pretty tidy. Overall, a smooth transaction.

Came here to drop off my car for a maintenance after reading all the Unilocal reviews. I had called another place that also had 5 star reviews in pleasanton before I booked my appointment with Fremont Foreign auto.
The guy over phone in the pleasanton location stated, «a maintenance is about $ 365 dollars.» When the receptionist from Fremont foreign auto picked up the phone and asked me about my car type, year and how many miles, and gave me an estimate of $ 95. Huge difference.
As I came in for my appointment I notice the place is clean, the front desk seemed very competent and organized and the business seem to run very efficiently. They have wifi, so I just bought my lab top and browsed the web. When they stated that it will take about 45 minutes, it actually took that amount of time. Some places I have been to say 15 minutes and it turns out to be an hour or 2 later.
The only downside is that they get really busy, so making an appointment is better especially if you have a tight schedule. They get really busy. Honest people that don’t try to sell you new tires every time you bring your car in. I will be back.
