Your insurance and the FOG says you are covered and they provide the expensive service which is 3 times compared to your nearest eye shop where your insurance is not accepted. Now later insurance and FOG notifies you owe way high fee as your insurance does not cover the bill.
While you are there, Optometrist seems knowledgeable (and hence 2 stars). Eye glass is 3 times regular price after the insurance.

I have been a client of the Fremont Optometric Group for over 25 years. They are the best!
For the first twenty or so years, it was Dr. Eugene Tsujimoto who was my friend, philosopher and Optometrist. A very thorough and caring doctor, he endeared himself to his patients.
In more recent years, the transition to Dr. Cliff Leong has been seamless. He is a delightful person, equally thorough and caring. This office has been renovated and modernized without any compromise to the quality of service rendered.
My children, now in their 30s, still continue to travel long distances to come visit Drs. Sakihara and Gin.
Last but not least, thanks go to the delightful administrative staff. Mara and Cathy have been with Fremont Optomeric for a long time and are always a pleasure to deal with.

I have my own optometry group but they do not have eye-​ware, so based on the high ratings, of the Fremont Optometric Group I went there with my own prescription. I found decent frames and they promised the glasses would be ready in 7 to 10 days and would call. Wow, was that wrong. I had to call several times and after nearly 3 weeks I found the glasses were in but nobody had checked them and they would call. Finally after another 5 days they called that the glasses were ready but I needed an appointment. So another 3 days just to pick them up (how lame). The glasses came out OK but their arrogant treatment was terrible. Never again.

I’ve been going here for a couple of years now but will find a new eye doctor. This place is a bit on the crooked side.
1. One of the first things they do — without asking — during an eye exam is sit you in front of an «optomap» machine that takes a picture of the back of your eye. This is optional and your insurance won’t pay for the $ 40 that it costs. If you agree to use it, they’ll charge you the $ 40. If not, they’ll discard the results and say you need to be dilated. They claim that you need to be dilated every year. I Googled this and it’s not recommended for healthy people under 60 to be dilated every year like they claim.
2. I just received my eye exam insurance claim and there’s a line item for «contact lens fitting» for $ 60. There was no contact lens fitting done and my prescription hasn’t changed.
3. They write their prescriptions for the absolute minimum duration. Example, CA law says that contact lens prescriptions can last 1 – 2 years and glasses 2 – 4 years. For both cases they do the minimum. I’ve asked them to write them longer since my prescription hasn’t changed in 10+ years but they refused.

Super friendly, knowledgeable, professional staff is the key to their success (and why I keep coming back). Oh, and because I can’t see for beans… that too. :-)
The office is beautiful, clean and well laid out. Their options for frames are spot-​on — good, relevant, up-​to-​date styles and brands with plenty to pick from.
Friendly followup reminders and excellent record-​keeping make me feel confident that I have put my eye heathcare in good hands!

I have been coming to Fremont Optometric Group for many years. I love Dr. Sakihara. She always takes the time to be friendly and welcoming. She is very thorough and explains things well. I know my eyes are being well taken care of and wouldn’t want to see anyone else. The entire staff work well together and are friendly and knowledgeable. I love the newly remodeled office. I highly recommend this office to all my family and friends.

I have been going to this office for several years now; my eyes are not what they used to be! I have been treated by Dr. Dea and Dr. Leong. Both are EQUALLY good. The entire office was recently remodeled and boy does it look nice «so people friendly» and inviting. The place is clean and the staff is courteous and very helpful. They use the latest technology and have many hours of operation to fit all needs of all patients. After your eye exam if you need glasses they have a very knowledgeable staff to help you make those choices and pick out frames. Everyone is up to speed on vision insurance and how your plan interacts with their services. I would like to also give a high five to Arnel (sp? Sorry) in the optical department. He will be the one to fit your glasses after they are delivered to their office. You can’t go wrong with this office for your eye needs.

Dr. Chew explains all the different exams she does and the results. She is very patient and knowledgeable and always is concerned with my well being. I am very pleased with her care and the service she provides to me ands my family. The staff at Fremont Optometric Group are always very friendly, courteous, and willing to assist you to make your visit a pleasant and successful one.

I had been to other optometry offices before and Fremont Optometric is certainly the best of the best. They have a very nice inviting office and the staffs are friendly and well trained. Dr. Leong has some really cool equipment in his examination room and he is very patient and detailed in examining my eyes. His prescription for my glasses are perfectly fit.

I’ve been coming here for more than a decade. The optometrists here have always offered great service. My eyes have their routine check up, and the front desk is always helpful with insurance questions.

I love coming here because staff here is extremely knowledgeable. From the front desk, to the techs, to the doctors, everyone does their jobs extremely well and makes an appt go smoothly. I’ve seen Dr. Dea and Dr. Gin and both are great. They have taken the time to answer any questions that I have and whether the answer be short or long, they never try to rush through an appt to get on to the next patient.

I cheated on my optometrist and came here. Dr. Leong and the staff at Fremont Optometric Group are awesome! I love the machine that they use to lurk on your eyeballs instead of having my eyes dilated. It’s so rad! When my exam was done the ladies assisted me with choosing a pair of glasses that had to be special ordered. They came super quick. I’ll definitely be back!

It was my first time here today and liked everything. Had an eye exam with Dr. Leong who is super nice, knowledgeable and patient. The lady who helped me pick a pair of glasses is very nice and helpful too. Wish I knew this place earlier :)

I have been to 4 different Optometrists in the area and Fremont Optometric Group has been the best experience thus far.
The staff are prompt, friendly, and thorough. I saw Dr. Gin and he was very knowledgeable. I liked that he was able to explain everything in a way that was easy for anyone to understand. I also saw Joellen for contact lenses and she’s so sweet. The place is very clean and professional. They have a huge selection of eye glasses, however, their selection for sunglasses seems to be a bit small.
Highly recommend coming here.

***Patients with KERATOCONUS***
Over a decade ago, I was diagnosed with a somewhat rare eye condition called keratoconus. This requires a relatively more indepth and lengthy process that deals with obviously the power of the lens, but probably more importantly, the fitment over the eye. I’ve seen many keratoconus specialists over the years with not-​so-​great results. Fitment and lens selection by my previous eye doctors has left me with scar tissue on my cornea and a less active lifestyle due to the high probability of those lenses popping out.
I cannot begin to explain how much Dr. Leong has changed my life. His fitment process is EXTREMELY thorough. I can now see better than ever before, the comfort level of these lenses is GREAT, and I’m now able to engage in physical activities that i was never able to over the last decade or so.
Thanks, Dr. Leong! I’m definitely coming to you again for my next eye check-​up!

Service is good, unhappy trying to find operation hours though. Finally found the hours by calling the office.

Been coming here since my first set of glasses in the 2^nd grade (12 years now WOW I’m old.).
Have had 2 different Doctors (Currently Dr. Gin). Both have been super cool and nice.
Anytime I needed adjustments for my glasses (I bent mine a lot!) I just dropped in and they fix them for you!

They remodeled and it looked amazing! The staff and Dr. Gin are still super nice and friendly. The only comment I have is I wish they had more glasses/​sunglasses selection. Other than that, I love this place!
