We love this place! We drove 30 miles to have their chimichanga and chip and salsa bar. Always friendly and very fast service. We’ve been coming for years and I have never had anything we didn’t like. And, believe it or not, my husband loves their burger and fries also.

Food is bland and tastes like it was reheated. It is not authentic and does not taste fresh. The biggest reason for the one star is their recent price increase is ridiculous. They are now WAY overpriced. You can’t get away with charging $ 15-$ 20 a plate with mediocre food and service. I think the only reason this place is surviving is a lack of competition. One person that I was with ordered the fajitas and it was $ 18! When it arrived at the table, it was mostly sizzling onions and peppers with 3 – 4 strips of steak. What a joke! I also found it interesting that making your meal a ‘dinner’ increases the price from roughly $ 10 to pushing $ 20…all for a side of rice and beans. That’s ridiculous. Long story short, you can’t charge the prices of a high class restaurant for mediocre food, service, and atmosphere.

I liked the décor. I liked the staff. The food was so bland though. Rice was weird. Didn’t feel it was a one star. Two is fair. Go elsewhere.

Poor quality food and horrible rude service! The worst Mexican food I’ve ever had and the ENTIRE visit no one that worked there once said thank you or anything! Plus when they made a mistake there was no apology.

Not authentic however the place is clean, food tastes great, and staff are always friendly and prompt. My husband and I eat there on a regular basis knowing we will leave satisfied that we came!

Holy crap! Way overpriced. $ 9 for baja enchilada. No sides, just fake crab and salad shrimp in a tortilla with cheese on top. Servers couldn’t be less enthused to be there.

The worst Mexican food in town. The soft shell tacos are the only thing I would order if I was dragged kicking and screaming back there. Taco Bell sucks but they’re better than Gringos.

Gringo’s is a decent family Mexican restaurant that boasts a large menu aimed to please just about anybody. It’s definitely not authentic Mexican, so don’t come in thinking you’re going to get the best Mexican food of your life, and you’ll leave far less disappointed. The salsa bar leaves something to be desired, even though you’re able to fill up as much or as little as you’d like, as often as you’d like. The guacamole is more mushed avocado than it is guacamole, so I would not order again. My husband got a burrito and I got the beef chimichanga. Each were plenty in portion size, and will absolutely leave you feeling full when you walk out the door. The restaurant itself is pretty so-so, but very family friendly.

Where do I start? This was by far the worst«Mexican» food I have ever had. The salsa bar is a joke. We ordered cheese dip to start and it was like they melted a block of cheese with a lighter and threw rotel in it to make it fit the name of the restaurant. I ordered a chimichanga and it was terrible. It looked like sloppy joe meat stuffed inside of a fried tortilla. The rice tasted more like something I’d find in an Indian restaurant. I guess the bright side of the visit was I didn’t get food poisoning so there’s that. Stay away seriously. You’ll find better food at Taco Bell at 3AM.

The food is not Authentic at all. The service is crapy! And Over priced. Apparently there costumer service is not a concern for them, being I’ve tried it a few different times with family and friends, thinking that i ordered the wrong thing or had a waitress that had a bad day. But I was wrong! Same result every time. Always treated rudely and like we are a bother to the staff. Will not return to this place ever Again! Food is bland and crappy service. I don’t recommend this place. Thumbs down

I have never had a bad meal here. The Sancho Dinner is my favorite. Service is fast and friendly. The salsa bar is wonderful and the salsa itself is delicious! The only downfall is that their prices are rather high but you do get a lot of food to eat.

We live near Fremont and eat here quite a bit. The quality of food is always great. Wait staff is friendly and fast. They do a great job of having a flavorful meal. They have Jalepenos and hot sauce at the Salsa bar for those that like really spicy food. It does get rather busy on Friday evening, with lots of regular customers. Not sure why so many people think really spicy food is Mexican. Gringo’s compares to many of the sit down Mexican restaurants in Eastern Nebraska owned by Mexican families that now reside in Nebraska.

Firstly, let it be known, I am a Mexican food snob. My fiancé is Mexican, he cooks a lot, we eat at his parents a lot, I have eaten the best food of my life in Mexico, etc… That said, Gringo’s offers the«white-version of mexican food.» Less flavor than the real deal, no spice, no kick, no soul. The salsa«bar» is a sad excuse for waiters/waitresses not wanting to take the extra ten steps to bring you chips and salsa. Said salsa is as bland as the food. Also, the décor is more Native American than Mexican, which really confused me. On the upside, our waitress was very nice, speedy, and efficient. Pricing is reasonable, for what’s expected. Servings our reasonably sized.

Simply great. The fish tacos are excellent. Can’t beat the free chips and salsa bar either.

Gringo’s is exactly what it’s name says. An excellent American take on Mexican food. Love the salsa bar and the staff and ownership are great people.

I stopped here for dinner with my family and don’t have many positive things to say. Both my mom and I ordered the bean enchilada assuming these would be safe for vegetarians. But when the enchiladas came out there was meat in the enchilada sauce. And when we asked the waitress about it she also informed us that the beans have bacon in them. And to make it worse, the waitress charged us for the two enchiladas that we couldn’t even eat! And the rest of our party gave only mediocre reviews of their meals. I’m not sure if this is the best of what the town has to offer but I sure hope that there is a place with better food and service!

Stopped here for dinner based on fellow Unilocaler’s recommendations. In town for business and had to check out the local Mexican establishment. Very nice looking both inside and out, somewhat small, but probably fits the bill for this area. Service was somewhat okay, perhaps it was because I was a dining single. Their chips and salsa are self-service which is a little interesting. Nothing to write home about here. Food was typical Mexican fare, good but nothing fancy. It serviced the purpose for a taste of Mexican while in Fremont.

Having just moved out to Fremont within the past two weeks, I think it says a lot that I ALREADY want to give Gringo’s a great review. Boasting a huge menu that is sure to please all, Gringo’s is definitely one of the better Fremont restaurants. The food is delicious, the restaurant is casual and family-friendly, and the service is prompt and attentive. The pork tamales are to-die-for, and the enchiladas are tasty as well. Even the rice and beans are especially good! Being a kind of picky eater, I appreciate that they leave all the garnishes(lettuce, tomato, sour cream, etc.) on the side. Now, the only reason I am giving them 4 stars is opposed to 5 is that I am a native Californian, and therefore used to absolutely outstanding, highly authentic Mexican food. I have just been spoiled in terms of Mexican food my whole life. Gringo’s is slightly lacking in the authenticity department if you ask me(maybe it’s the ground beef in the enchiladas?), but that’s just me being nit-picky; it doesn’t make the restaurant any less enjoyable. I highly recommend Gringo’s.

It’s not«real» Mexican and lacks seasoning overall. Definitely a gringo’s version of TexMex. The chips & salsa bar is small but better than nothing. The mild is very tomato-ey(perfect for kids who hate spicy anything), the medium is still mild, and the hot is hot. Not scorching, but acceptable. They also have ranch and pickled jalapenos on the bar. Mixing the ranch and hot salsa together is my favorite. Margaritas are good, but can be water-itas depending on who makes them. White enchilada is good as long as the chicken isn’t overly salty(it can be from time to time); my guy prefers the steak sancho. Beware the«quesadilla» is not actually a quesadilla. It’s a giant tostada with a flour tortilla instead of the foldover action one might expect. There’s no foldover happening. We never order it.
