Went here for an early dinner with y in-laws or my husband’s birthday. Good parking just to the north of the restaurant. Wasn’t greeted by a host, but no biggee. the ambiance is kinda divey and well-lived in. Quickly sat down. A bit snug in the front area. The back is very spacious for overflow. Wasn’t busy yet but we were early. A server brought us chips & salsa. The salsa is runny but has great flavor. The dinner menu has a great menu selection, easy to read. Okay, now I won’t go into our order detail, but OMG! The food here is wonderful! My father-in-law said that it’s been a very long time since he could say that the food was as good as his Mexican-born mother’s home-made ‘back when he was a little boy!’ WOW! WHAT A COMPLIMENT! He said when he goes to a Mexican restaurant, the first this he does is tastes the ‘rice and beans.’ If the rice and beans are good, everything is good. And the serving portions are big. And by the time we left, there were customers waiting to sit. We are definitely going back again!!!

Today is Super Bowl Sunday, everyone is celebrating. Not me, I’m dealing with the last days of my brother’s life. He wanted pork burritos from La Casita(of all things). I pulled up and the young man said we are closed, it is Superbowl Sunday. When I told him I needed burritos for my brother, he went back in and got the chili Verde and tortillas. I cried all the way home. Thank you La Casita for for having employees who care about people.

The customer service is horrible. I placed a phone order and showed up after the 2o minute wait time… waited another 20 minutes… and they still told me it will ready in a moment. I just walked out. I have been here before and the food isn’t that great. Went to La Piñata… my food was ready quicker then they told me it would be and the food is much better anyways. Don’t waste your time coming here.

I will forever love the chicken soup here. It’s so good and always helps when you’re sick! The burrito’s are so big, so beware! Customer service is okay! The owner is super sweet!

This is the best Mexican restaurant I have been to yet. This place was recommended to us by family friends. I have been going to this place for over ten years and have never been disappointed. They also have an awesome bar with very tasty and potent margaritas. To top it off, it’s a very friendly and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant has very beautiful murals painted on the inside. The waiters/waitresses also make sure that you are satisfied and give you as much salsa and chips as you want. If you haven’t been to this place yet, I recommend that you stop by and grab a bite to eat. I’m pretty you’ll leave full and not disappointed.

Generous portions and really great food overall. I had the enchilada and taco combo(both chicken) and scarfed them down with glee. The best part was that the rice seemed to be cooked with cheese at the bottom which cooled down into a gooey cheesy delight. Yum! Service was friendly and accommodating for our large group. The chicken soup is a must get as well — it is delish!

One of my favorite restaurant in Fremont. I used to not like Mexican food until after trying out this place. My favorites are fajitas and top shelf burrito. I love their Mexican rice and sometimes wish they would offer more on the fajitas plate. Service is usually quick and friendly. The place is due for a renovation, though. It’s a bit run down, floor and chairs do not seem clean.

This is my second time coming here. Food is good, I received the wrong meat in my order though. I ordered the rice soup because everyone talks about it, it was ok. I have high expectations with flavor. Major plus was the plate is so hot your food is boiling — gotta love hot food! It’s very noisy in there!

I was super excited to try this place with my boyfriend so we finally went yesterday. Its a cute hole in a wall place in fremont. Great service they are quick and attentive. After sitting us down they follow us right away with water, chips and salsa. Chips ia great but salsa is a bit watery. So i ordered guacamole. Its taste fresh and not too salty. I ordered a super burrito. Its gigantic. I oy ate ¼ of it. I was suprised becauase they were very generous with their meat and they dont put too much rice and beans. They serve it with sour cream and guacamole so thats a plus. My boyfriend order the burrito with mole sauce. The mole sauce did not taste like mole at all. But the amount of carne asada made up for the sauce. We probably come back and try something different next time. :)

I used to come here for Spanish class field trips in high school, so I’ve always had fond memories of La Casita. But today I came here with my friends with only one goal: eat great food. We all ordered the Top Shelf Burrito, which my brother insisted is a must try. It was DELICIOUS! I can boast that I was the closest to finishing it, although even then I had some leftovers(I’m writing this review the next day while finishing this delicious burrito for lunch). The service here is always warm and welcoming. Dining here makes me feel like a guest, not a customer. They even made some of the burritos with half chicken and half carne asada upon request. Which meat is better? That’s for you to decide.

Unfortunately the food quality here has slipped. I doubt we will eat here again. The last two or three times we came here we were disappointed by the overly salted dishes we had. Now added to that, there is the taste of lard. We shall be searching for another Mexican restaurant in Fremont.

I really love this place! I just moved here from Texas recently and I’ve been disappointed with the Mexican restaurants in town until I found La Casita! First off, it’s a cute little restaurant that’s easy to miss off of Fremont but there’s no mistaking it when you see it. The staff is friendly and, if they aren’t super busy, will seat you immediately. They make a great first impression with their awesome chips and salsa and continue with the great food. I got the cheese enchiladas which were some of the best I’ve ever had. They also make the absolute best Mexican rice. Ever. I will definitely be back again. And again. And again.

We were in Sunol for an appointment, and decided to eat dinner in the area. Using Unilocal,we decided to give La Casita Restaurant a try. Upon arriving, we found that the exterior and interior décor were very cute. Overall, the service was pretty good but the food was just mediocre. We ended up getting the appetizer sampler and Gibo Special(chicken over potatoes plate). My favorite item on the sampler platter was actually the meatballs. The meatballs themselves were ok(a bit overcooked) but the sauce was so delicous! It was this sweet tomato sauce that I couldn’t get enough of. The cheese quesadilla was also very good. As with most sampler platters, the nachos were only so so and once the cheese cooled down, was hard to eat. The chimichanga was also just so so. It does come with sour cream and guac, which is a plus. We were so full by the time the Gibo Special came that we didn’t even get to really eat it. We only had a few bites but it wasn’t anything to write home about. We did take a bunch of leftovers home so I’ll be giving it another shot. La Casita does appear to be a cute, family owned restaurant, but we didn’t enjoy the food as much as I had hoped. Oh, but something else super awesome — there was another table celebrating a woman’s 103rd birthday! And a gentleman from another table who knew how to play the harmonica got up and played during her birthday song. Yay!!!

If you’re looking for ‘old school’ Mexican cuisine, here’s the coolest spot in South Fremont. If there’s anything that could use a change in the place, it’s only the brighter lighting in the main dining space. But, that being said, everything is consistent as it was yesteryear. And, it has been serving up large plates of enchiladas; baskets of chips along with salsa, and margaritas for years and years. Head to the old bar when you arrive. Order that margarita. Sip it with one of your compadres. Then wait for your name to be called and take a seat and order it up big time. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. It’s tried and true and it remains tasty since the first time I visited this spot ‘back in the day’ to date. Enjoy it with family, with friends. Just go. It’s Mexican food as it should be.

Some of the best Mexican food I’ve had in the area. It was a little bit of a struggle getting the check but that’s a quibble. Incredible fajitas, everything was top notch. I’m putting this in the regular rotation!

Hands down the best mexican food ever! I have been coming here for over 20 years and the food has not changed on bit. Always start with a house blue cheese salad(pickled beets make it) then flowed by rice beans and a chili rellano. Nothing makes me happier and never been disappointed :)

Hometown favorite! I have been going here since I was a wee little lass and they have yet to disappoint! I have almost had everything on the menu and its always delicious. The only thing that wasn’t too great were the nachos, but who bases their opinion on the nachos? I’ve gone through a few phases, one being the taco salad with grilled chicken. Then the glorious super burrito. All leading up to my current obsession… the grilled chicken quesadilla! They also have a fantastic Cadillac Margarita and superb piña colada. All in all, of course I’m coming back here and perhaps I’ll enter a new phase, the enchilada phase. Verdict: Try this place out! There is usually no wait, the staff is always friendly, and the little bar is super divey! The place is welcoming and has a traditional style and I usually take visitors here if the craving is for a good margarita and some Mexican treats! Things to try: Cadillac Margarita Guacamole Super burrito Taco salad Grilled chicken quesadilla

I was invited to this restaurant by my friends. I tried their lunch specials: The food looks like they threw a big spoon of sloppy rice and salted beans, and then brought it to your table. Service was too slow, not enough staff, when busy, they dont bother refilling the water or drinks. Tables were pretty dirty, and sticky the utensil and glasses they use are too old. Price was a bit too high
