Quite frankly i like this place better then pieology IMO. Ill start with the cons since i always start with pros for places. So. The only bad things about this place is customer service, price, and size. 6 $ for such a small mini pizza. I guess quality makes up for it. Also, at the end i was trying to pay for my pizza but nobody rang me up, they saw me there standing for about 5 mins. But no one gave a chance and came to rang me up so i just sat down and waited for my food to be finished baking. After that they decided to rang me up. *i was on a time schedule so i was a bit in a rush. Pros: I like how they carry different types of cheese like peta, ricotta, etc. cheese on a pizza is super necessary and if they have ricotta on it, it just makes everything so much better. I cannot stress to say how much i love cheese, and for them to carry different varieties really made me happy haha. Other then that, theres plenty of parking, theres a lot of seatings inside. And they also serve beer and wine which is neat as well.

BYOP(build your own pizza, duh) joints are the new thing I suppose. It is just like Pieology in that you build your own pizza with as many toppings as you’d like for one flat price. Reasons I like this place better than Pieology: * Crust is so much better! It’s a little fluffy, while Pieology is just about a cracker. * Definitely try the Marion Blackberry Lemonade! A little tart but still great. Oh and they have crushed ice! YAAAS. * Their«kitchen area» just looks so much cleaner/neater than Pie’s. * There is 3 sizes, mini, mod, and an extra large. * You can make a pizza salad! Basically everything you would get on your pizza tossed in a bowl over greens. One of the workers was a little«off» and put my pizza on the counter(as in ready to go in the oven) right after I told him the proteins I wanted and completely skipped my toppings. I said«Hey I’m not done!» But he already walked away and a different employee had to save my pizza! Bless his soul. I don’t know if it was Paint Your Face at work day or that’s just how they roll but the«off» worker had a painted on kitty nose and whiskers.

Think of Subway version of a Pizza restaurant, this is what it is! There are so many toppings and sizes to choose and you kind of get a self-made pizza cooked fresh on *fire*. It took very short time for us to have the mouthwatering food from the time we got in. I liked the food and the concept, my fav Pizza place from now on.

MOD Pizza is the newest addition to build your own pizza places in Fremont, this one being inside the Fremont Hub. There is quite the competition with Pieology and Blaze also being in Fremont. Now that I’ve been to all 3, I can say I prefer Pieology/Blaze over MOD Pizza. Sure, MOD Pizza may have a more variety of toppings, the pizzas just aren’t the same. Firstly, compared to the other 2 places, the service here is much slower. The line wasn’t too long, but it was still slow. Really slow, it felt that they didn’t have enough people working on making pizzas. Secondly, the pizzas were not as good as the other places. The crust just didn’t cut it for me, the red sauce didn’t really have much flavor, I feel as if they don’t put much red sauce on their pizzas here. I also feel as if the cheese wasn’t too melted and it did not stay on the pizza much while trying to eat it. Thirdly, the pizza slices were cut way to big, compared to the other places. They cut the pieces too big and even though the price here may be a little bit cheaper than Pieology/Blaze, I still think they are better. I did like my chocolate shake though, it was delicious. Perfect chocolate taste, and yummy. Overall, I’d skip this place, because Pieology’s pizzas taste so much better.

Wish I could give them a bajillion stars! Had the most awesome experience at MOD tonight. We were greeted by an employee who, even though it was minutes from closing, had the most fun and welcoming energy. She was super funny and joked with my boyfriend a lot. Her name is Shorty. I wasn’t getting anything, and so after my boyfriend got his pizza and we were about to leave, they asked if we wanted a free pizza. Since you can’t exactly turn that down, we accepted. We soon learned that their entire staff was super friendly and awesome. I was surprised that they were all so kind and accommodating, especially since they were already closed at this point. The vibe I get from most places during their closing time is the can you get the hell out kind of vibe. Definitely felt like I was with friends when I was talking to them! 5 stars for the best customer service ever! They definitely went over and beyond my expectations. I unfortunately didn’t catch all their names, but to the entire staff working the closing shift tonight(5÷9÷16), you guys rock! Also, they have anchovies. YESSS!

The crust is thicker. but it’s crunchy. there’s a lot of meat choices to choose from to top your pizza. There’s three different sizes, mini, mod, and the mega. the mega seem to only be double crust and 11″.not many people there, so wasn’t that bad of a wait. I do like this place more than pieology.

I used to wait in the long line at Blaze but Mod is my new favorite. They have the toppings that I care about: artichokes, chicken jalapeño sausage, feta, kalamata olives, sundried tomatoes, etc. I like the crust over at Blaze better but Mod is definitely not bad. It is thin, light and crunchy. Pieology tends to be thin and soggy. The non-soda drink selection is FANTASTIC!!! They make an effort to be environmentally responsible. The plastic utensils and cups are all compostable. They have reusable plates for those who dine in. So far, the lines haven’t been long, which is good for me but maybe not for business. I eat at MOD at least once a week. One gripe I have about the place is that they make their employees greet every single customer with a loud«Hello!». I think this is 100% unnecessary and just plain awkward. I’m sure it is demoralizing to the employees as well. Please don’t make them do circus tricks — no one but the management appreciates this.

In my opinion, this place is the best make-your-own pizza place,(over Pieology and Blaze). The salads at MOD are clearly better than Pieology. Toppings are good and food is quick. Great place!

Me likey! The setup is very much like Pieology and Blaze. You pick whatever toppings you want and build your own pie. Or, if you prefer you can get one of their menu designed pizzas. Better yet, you can be on the«healthier» side of things and get a pizza salad. A «what», you say? If you’ve ever been to Tomatina’s and gotten a piadine, they are similar. MOD uses a pizza crust and tops it with asiago cheese. Not my favorite so I had them change it up. ½ ricotta, ½ Gorgonzola with a bit of mozzarella for my crust. Ooooh, and I love mushrooms so they threw that on before sticking it in the oven. I know, I’m a bit of a «Sally» but it is byo. THEN, you go through the line to build your salad. Pizza toppings make for fabulous salads. Toss. When the crust is ready, they flop the salad on top of the crust(cut into 4 slices). You eat your pizza slices NYC style. Mind you, the salad they built was SO enormous I actually have leftovers for 1.5 meals. Crazy! BUT, the happiness doesn’t stop there. Their soda fountain has crushed ice. You got it! CRUSHED!(Giddy as a school child.) BAM! MOD just set themselves apart from the competition! Ambiance is cool, casual. They have large round tables for the bigger group and small ones you can move around a bit to customize for your party size. It’s not a huge space but nothing to blink at. That said, in our area I think MOD and Blaze go head to head on the pizza front. Will be coming back.

I really like the San Jose MOD Pizza location, so I was happy to hear they opened a new one in Fremont. Unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations. The line moved very slowly and the staff weren’t familiar with the menu, as they all continually had to check the menu to make sure they had the right ingredients. They also didn’t appear to know what all the toppings were, as we had to point to where the toppings were. The crust appeared a bit thinner than the San Jose location, as our toppings fell-off pretty easily. The middle also didn’t seem to be cooked enough, as that part was a bit soggy. However, the pizza tasted good, which is what I’ve come to expect from MOD. The staff was friendly and worked hard to make the experience as good as possible. I’ll have to go back since I know this location hasn’t been open very long.

I’ve recently become a «make your own pizza» foodie. When comparing MOD to pieology and blaze… I probably put it above pieology but below blaze. My reason for above pieology: I prefer MOD’s crust(I got double crust). My reason for below blaze: I didn’t feel the ingredients were as fresh and the sauce MOD uses is ehhh(i.e., watery, not very tasteful). I experienced friendly and helpful workers at MOD. Oh oh oh. . And the BLACKBERRYLEMONADE=super bomb! As well as the garlic strip thingies.

MOD you have let me down for the last time. I previously tried MOD but their San Jose location quite some time ago and I did not like it but I thought maybe I would try the Fremont location and see if anything had changed. The set-up is like your typical byo pizza joint where all the toppings are set out for your choosing and you can add as many toppings as you would like, that type of thing. The service here was pretty good I was greeted immediately and all of the employees that I interacted with were very friendly. The menu is pretty straight forward, you can build your own pizza or order one of the nine classic pizza options that they offer. What I do like about MOD is that they have a little bit more variety and options than some of the other byo pizza places out there. They have three different size pizza options which are the mini(6″ pizza), MOD(11″ pizza) and the Mega(double crusted 11″ pizza), this helpful for those who may not be very hungry for the average size or may want a big pizza. They also have milkshakes which in my opinion are good and that’s probably the only good thing I’ve had here. On my visit I ordered a mini pizza with pepperoni, sausage and roasted garlic. The pizza just didn’t do it for me, I felt like it was really lacking and the crust was extremely soft and soggy this is what actually threw me off and I ended up only eating half and giving the rest away. I also ordered the garlic cheese strips were very lackluster as well, the cheese was grated Parmesan so after it was baked it was really hard and it didn’t have a cheesy or garlic taste. I think they need to figure that out and figure out how to bake their pizzas in a way where the crust is firm and crispy and put some more flavor in the sauce. I was really hoping this time around I might actually enjoy my meal but unfortunately I did not. I think I will just stick to Blaze for my future byo pizza needs.

As I walked in to Mod it seemed the similar style of pizza as Blaze. Definitely not the case. This place is much more inviting with a very relaxing atmosphere. The people behind the counter are the most friendliest people. Lady named by Shorty was the one to help me and create my pizza. She made a double stack that no one in town makes. A double stack is two layers of amazingness. All you can eat meat and loads of cheese in between the crust. I must say I have never had such an amazing pizza experience as I have had here. As far as food, environment and associates go I give it a 5 star. If you would want to experience a warm and inviting pizza spot visit Mods pizza. I would recommend seeing Shorty. She will definitely make your experience better with some unique ideas for your pizza. Not to mention she is super funny! I would like to thank her for my experience today.

Completing the trifecta of make your own, Chpotle toppings line, 800 degree pizza places in Fremont(the other two being Pieology and Blaze), I decided to swing by and try the newest kid on the block, MOD. Like the other«build your own» places, you can choose one of the several pizzas from the menu or choose the«MOD» and customize your own and have them add whatever toppings you want. As far as drinks there is no shortage of choices, from bottled beers, bottled sodas, draft beer and wine, shakes, floatd, fountain drinks and house made ice teas and lemonades. My pizza after tax came to $ 9.06 which is on par with the other two within a dollar or so. Within 5 — 6 minutes, my pizza was done and I was ready to eat. The crust, like all the others is thin crust and has a great flavor to it, maybe slightly better or equal to Blaze with Pieology being my least favorite of the three. The toppings were great as well with fresh ingredients. With this restaurant being in the Fremont Hub, I can’t see this place being as busy as Blaze is being next to a movie theater but if they continue with good service and good food, they should do well here.

So this is basically the same as Pieology and Blaze(haven’t been). This is what I like about it. You can customize your own pizza or choose from one of their signature pizzas on the board. You can get a smaller size pizza than a mod called a mini which is also cheaper. It’s kid friendly. My daughter and I got a mini Hawaiian pizza which was ready in 10 min. It tasted fine. The portion was great for a kid and me. Friendly service and the line was non-existent, considering we went at 1:30. This wouldn’t be the first choice on my list as a dinner or lunch option, however it could do in a pinch.

Ordered online after watching a movie at the new AMC12 a Newpark. Got there a bit early so the pizza wasn’t quite ready yet. Bought a fountain drink and was impressed with the selection of ice teas and lemonade, which seem to be made with real sugar! Got my pizza soon after, which was a gluten free, white sauce pie with mozzarella and Asia go cheeses, bacon, chicken, roasted garlic, roasted cauliflower and spinach. I really enjoyed the gluten free crust over Pieology and Blaze. Although I do think Blaze has better toppings. A nice option here is that you can get a smaller size pizza then the standard 11 inch or if you’re into crust get a double crust pizza or add a side salad. Other highlights here are the drink options, they serve shakes with mix-ins like oreo cookie bits, cookie dough, and salted toffee. Also I like how they have more options for finishing sauces like balsamic fig glaze, sriracha-ranch sauce, and others. They even have real plates and bottles of sriracha sauce if you eat in. The only drawbacks were the smaller amount of toppings than what I might get at Blaze, but, that could be due to that I ordered ahead and didn’t get a chance to ask for more.

In terms of build-your-own pizza places, I’ve always like Pieology’s red sauce and Blaze’s toppings. MOD pizza does have some things that make it stand out: –Anchovies! –Cauliflower –Mild AND spicy sausage –3 sizes: mini, MOD(essentially a regular), and Mega(double stack of MOD) –Dough looks like a fully cooked lavash, but does rise and resemble pizza after it’s baked –Sriracha as a finishing sauce and in bottles The setup was weird because all the greens were at the beginning, before even the sauces. So at the very end, I wanted to top off my pizza with arugula so my pizza maker went all the way to the beginning to get it. Luckily it wasn’t a busy day with a lot of people on either side. Also, arugula should typically be put onto the pizza after it’s taken out of the oven because the residual heat will soften it up. Here, it was put in the oven with the pizza so it kind of shriveled up. In terms of taste, I thought it was decent. You really have to watch out for how many meat toppings you put on. My husband’s pizza had sausage, salami, and anchovies and it turned into some sort of salt lick. In fact, it has been 4 hours since we’ve eaten and I’m still thirsty. All the workers were very friendly here and even came by to pick up our empty trays and ask how we enjoyed the food. Much appreciated. I like the layout of MOD more than both Pieology and Blaze. Instead of rectangular/square tables everywhere making it feel tight, there are a bunch of round tables for larger groups. The ambiance is much more comfortable and relaxed.

«Back when I was your age, this place used to be a Pizza Hut…» Enter MOD Pizza, a 7-year old pizza chain that now exists as part of a long term plan to revitalize/establish a «downtown» part of the suburbia known as Fremont. In terms of logistics, it is exactly identical to Pieology Pizzeria(which opened a new location on Paseo Padre and Walnut, oddly enough). You have the opportunity to customize your pizza anyway you like, or order one of the standards on the left wall as you walk in. They offer all the standard ingredients and toppings for any conventional pizza you can construe. Based on the pizza I ordered(the Mad Dog or something), this place is definitely a suitable option for lunchtime if you happen to work nearby. It’s also a safe option for a food night out. In terms of taste, it’s just okay… while it’s not something to rave about, it will do the job. Oh, and for you beer enthusiasts, they do offer 4 local beers on tap. They also offer shakes and ice cream.
