Cute little spot hidden away in mission San Jose. I’m organizing a party for a non profit in December and good place was by far the best location. Also the community coordinators are very helpful and quick in responding. Would highly recommend this space for small events

Had no idea this was here! Just down the street from Mission Coffee, so is great place to stop by to unwind and enjoy rather impressive art. And best of all, it is free and open to public. Definitely worth a visit.

Olive Hyde is a fantastic city art gallery. The shows here can be quite impressive and are usually free to the public. Food and wine welcomes visitors to show openings and the staff is friendly and helpful. They host quite a few shows each year so keep an eye on their website to see what’s coming up and mark your calenders accordingly.

My second time here at a private event for a bridal shower and baby shower. The facility is a reasonable size, and can hold up to 100 guest comfortably. There is plenty of parking across the street and it’s free. Pros: Easy to find the location. The place is air conditioned. Usable kitchen. Table and chairs are provided Alcohol permitted with permit. Site fee is reasonably priced and you get your deposit back if nothing is damaged. Cons: Set up is all on the person who is renting out the facility. I’ve rented facilities from other cities before and the set up was usually done for me. You have to throw out your own trash to the dumpster at the end of the day. I had a few wet paper towels in the trash and the staff made me throw it away. It was a waste of plastic. But rules are rules, I guess. They are a big stickler on time of start and end time.

I’ve rented the Olive Hyde Mission room twice and everything was wonderful. They do expect you to set up and clean up so take that into account when reserving the space. There’s a full service kitchen, it’s clean, the staff is very helpful and the price is reasonable. I would definitely rent it again.

I went to Olive Hyde Art Gallery because it’s FREE& showing«From Hare to Eternity: The Art of Warner Brothers Animation». It’s the collection of Eric Calande. It’s showing Feb. 19-March 20, 2010. The gallery is small — only 3 small rooms, plan on at least 20 minutes to see it all. You can take pics, just NOFLASH! As soon as you walk in, turn around to the right. There’s a glass case that has Warner Brothers characters like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, etc. Very cute. There’s cartoons you can watch. Photos of camera people, artists for Warner Brothers. Production cels from 1950’s. Pics of Wile E. Coyote, Bugs Bunny, Pepe Le Pew, etc. I went on «Meet the Collector» Day Sun 3⁄7 around 4pm and Eric Calande was talking about his collection to anyone interested. Nice guy. Separate bathrooms available. Women’s was downstairs — 1 toilet/sink. Looney Tunes pin $ 2; Tweety Bird, Bugs Bunny, etc. magnet $ 3 Location: 123 Washington Blvd @ Mission Blvd, across from the Mission, near Mission Coffee. Gallery hrs: Thurs-Sun 12 – 5
