$ 8.95 for my teens’ cuts. Better than some other cheap places we’ve been, have had no problems. What more can you ask for?

It’s $ 8.95 haircut. What can I say? The barber did his job but I guess I will have to go back to my usual place next time, as attention to detail around the ear edge was not the priority. Still I tipped him good. OK Cuts! Cheers!

Horrible place to get a hair cut. It may be cheap $ 9 but it’s not worth it. I will never come here again.

Small family-run barber shop located on Niles Blvd right off of Mission Blvd. They offer free street parking but also have a large parking lot across the street. My husband decided to check them out this past weekend. We came around 11am but there was no line — in fact, there weren’t any other customers. Kinda odd. The hair cut was about $ 9 but you get what you pay for. The cut was not bad, but certainly not clean, neat, nor polished. After the barber cut my husband’s hair, he didn’t even bother to dust/blow off the loose hair from my husband’s head/face. He was walking out with tufts of hair falling off him! The hair cut only took 5 minutes. If they spent an extra 5 more minutes, they could easily charge more for their services. We probably wont be coming back just due to their lack of quality & care. We rate this place 3 stars, but if they tried a bit harder, they could easily be a 4 star business.

$ 8.95 haircuts, but not worth it. Had to get it fixed. No attention to detail. This may have been due to me coming in near the end of the day, and the lady being tired, but still, I could do better cutting my own hair.

Its a small barber Shop in the town of Niles. The lady who works at this place is very nice! I always come here once a week to get a buzz cut. She cuts hair fairly well and quick. price is beyond fair. Highly recommended!

Sabrina @ Proper Cuts is an awesome hair dresser. She gave me a clean, thorough yet quick hair cut. I was really impressed with the way she thought of doing my hair just when i sat in the chair. I must say this experience has been one of the rare ones that i have got in my 4 yrs stay in US. All the best to Sabrina.

Although my husband has been going to another salon, they aren’t open on Sundays and my husband needed a haircut. He saw the younger person there(didn’t get her name but she had longer hair) and was very happy to walk out with the haircut that he and I both wanted. At 8.95 + generous tip, it was a steal! As we were leaving, she handed us a flyer and indicated that they were now offering women’s services. I noticed that eyebrow threading and eyebrow waxing were only $ 5.00each. I don’t know about the quality of the work for this service, but if it is as good as my husband’s haircut, it will be a huge bargain!

I must say owner operated businesses are the best. The owner cuts your hair and has a photographic menu in hair perfection. On a recommendation I came upon her shop, I must say great recommendation, thanks uncle. Perfect cut every time, would recommend her to all, custom haircut for under ten bucks.,

There are times when a guy just needs a quick haircut to discontinue their weeks of looking like a bum. I’m a happy customer here: you get a quick cut, that’s even and done well. If you want to look like a fashion runway model, then you need a salon, not a barbershop which is what this is. The man who cut my hair was courteous and very friendly. Though the haircuts are only $ 8.95, I felt like I was going to rob them, so I tipped very well. I will definitely come back in the future.

«You get what you pay for» This place is cheap: only $ 8.95 for a male haircut, which is why I came here in the first place. The location was in an older part of town so I expected the haircut to be very old-fashioned, such as maybe using a razor-edge. This was not the case. The place is run by an Asian gentleman and his wife. He was experienced but not skilled is what I noticed. The place lost a star because the back of my hair line was square shaped and I ended up with a rounded… which makes all the difference in looks. The only advice I can give is make sure you specify exactly what you want.

I’ve been a customer for almost 10 years. I started getting my hair cut here when there were located on Mowry. Since then, they have moved to their location in Niles. Nothing fancy, just a good haircut for $ 8.95, cash only. Either of the 2 people that work here do a good job. My wife recently had her hair trimmed here and she was satisfied with the results.

I love this place. Since I have been in the Bay Area and I found this place, I am not going anywhere else. This place is even better than a few more expensive places I tried. Do not expect a modern environment but the hair cut is a 5 stars one! Rasha, the girl working there, is quick and give me a fading hair cut. The one that I like(and I am REALLY picky). The price is unbeatable. It would be under $ 10($ 8.95 to be accurate) but I always tips some extra dollars. My only problem is that I have to drive down from Palo Alto to there but it is totally worth it. I totally recommend it!

When it comes to hairstyle, I’m about as low maintenance as they come. I’ve chosen to have very short haircuts since I’ve been old enough to buy my own cuts(since I was a teenager). I don’t need a shampoo prior nor do I want them teasing my hair with mousse after the cut. A good clean cut with a buzzer with some skillz to pull a fade and I’m all good to go. I’ve found out over the years that even though I might tell a barber what I «want» may not be what I «get». So when I find a place that does what I want, I tend to be very loyal. This has been my barber for 10+ years, and even though they’ve had to relocate, I had to follow them. There are pretty much 2 barbers here: one woman(the Owner) who has great skills and feel for hair and is quite social; and one older guy who I don’t think speaks a lot of English, but somehow nods and understands my instructions. I once needed a quick buzz before a Vegas weekend, sat in his chair and instructed«somewhere between an MGM and a Bellagio.» He just grinned and proceeded to give me the usual. They both have slightly different styles so I don’t mind who gives me my cut and in the end I have slightly different looks from time to time. Oh, did I mention a cut here only cost a whopping $ 8.95. Low maintenance cut for a low maintenance price, perfect for low maintenance guy like myself. I usually just give them $ 15 and tell them to keep the change. Why tip so much, some say? When most other barbers around charge at least $ 15 who in turn would probably make me look like a doofus, I’ll easily give that to the 2 people I trust most in shaving my head just the way I ask for it. Ps. Cash only which sucks sometimes, but for them I’ll let it slide.

In my on-going search to find Old School Barbers I came to Proper Cuts in the Niles District of Fremont to find that Barber. Passing by it, I was hoping that I would be in luck as it has all the trademarks of an old school barber. The old fashion barber pole, a sign advertising Men’s haircuts for $ 8.95, and it being located on what would be consider an older part of town. Came in here and the place goes back very deep. It has a small waiting area with a couple magazine choices. There must be like 4 – 6 chairs in this place, though there was only 2 people working(and old gentlemen and his daughter). Since the old gentlemen was giving someone a haircut I jumped into the chair and told the woman my usual hair cut. It probably took about 10 – 15 minutes. The best way to describe the haircut, was that it was your typical Mall Haircut. It wasn’t that it was bad, it wasn’t anything special either. Also they DONOT do the straight edge razor here either(automatically –1 Star). Overall, this place is ok, similar to any mall place but about $ 10 cheaper. So if you’re looking for just a quick mall style haircut and got $ 8.95 in your pocket, this is the place to come to. Also this place is CASHONLY.
