I work in the art department on an NBC Television show. We have a ton of files we have to keep track of and keep organized through the TV season. We purchased one of the Seagate NAS2bay in hopes it would be a good network storage device. In short it has been a disaster! The thing stopped working several times and I had the misfortune of calling the customer service line over and over and over again. Finally the damn thing stopped working entirely after only a few months. So, I went through the process of calling the customer service line again and again and again! After a couple of days and a several hours they finally admitted it no longer worked and we needed a new one. It was under warranty and so they sent me a new one. So we set it up. Naturally we have to call their horrible customer service line again and again. Finally the new one works and we upload everything to it again which was a process that took us week or two. Now, after 6 weeks, the new one no longer works anymore either. So again I call the customer service line and again and again and I sit there listening to music and message telling me that they would rather I look up their website. In short, they do NOT want your phone calls and they only want you to look at their website. I finally wound up calling the Corporate Offices in Cupertino. The guy answers the phone and tries to pawn me off on their recorded customer service messages again but I chewed him a new ass and so he transferred me to someone else who said they would be getting back to me. I told them I want a refund. $ 349 is a lot to spend for a paper weight they call a storage device. Seagate is a horrible company with little or no customer service. They couldn’t care less if they sell you defective merchandise. I have told the bosses at NBC/Universal NOT to buy their products and they heartily agreed because I guess they have a very low opinion of Seagate as well. Do yourself a favor, stay FARFARFARAWAY from buying any of the products from this company. You will live to regret it.
