I was really excited to find this location off the service exit, and even more excited they had Chocolate Charlie. It’s such an awesome tasty treat, but damn was it expensive. I got a box of Chocolate Charlie last year in South Bend at a walgreens for $ 9…it was double the cost here. Plus it didn’t have a price tag. I totally wasn’t expecting that at all, was kind of a let down. The Chocolate Charlie was good, but not sure if it was $ 18.

I’m not sure why I ever bothered buying chocolate here. I knew it wouldn’t be that good, so I blame it on the long drive. I stuck to the dark chocolate and got a little assortment — haystacks, a salted caramel, something else that wasn’t memorable and a bag of chocolate covered pretzels. The dark chocolate was sweeter than most milk chocolate and pretty much tasted like shit. And the small little bag of treats ended up being $ 18. Now, I expected it to be expensive and don’t mind paying for quality, but a snickers bar for $ 1.09 would have been significantly higher quality than this.

If you’re looking for something super sweet, this is for you. If you’re needing coffee for your drive, this is not the place for you. We stopped to get coffee off of 120 and were curious to try the cool drinks advertised. My husband ordered the lake affect, and I tried the black forest mocha. Both were tasty but more of a dessert than coffee. Aside from the obvious sugar taste, the chocolate is just so, so rich. We took a quick look at the chocolate candy and desserts for sale. I’m sure the quality is great, but everything was pretty pricey.
